As for A7X, their newer album is less heavier than their other ones. They kinda broke out of the "metal" scene for some of their songs, like Dear God and Afterlife. You still see their heavy side in songs like Critical Acclaim and Scream as you mentioned yourself. As a band they are still metal, but they ventured into lighter territory with some parts of the album. I still liked it though, just not as much as their earlier albums. I am hoping their new album in the works does take a step back though and gets a bit more heavier .
So I was trying to look for some new bands using Pandora and came across this really interesting band Eluveitie. They are like a Celtic Melodic Death Metal band. They've got bag pipes and everything along with their death growls and double bass, lol. Its an interesting mix but I am really enjoying it a lot. Plus I'm of Irish ethnicity so I kinda have a natural taste for some Irish music anyway. Its just really cool to have these two types of music mash up together.

Tales of Dark-Of Grandiose Fevers and Passion Arcane is one of my favorite song. Great vocals, great lyrics, .......just try it. Its not the full song, shortened for video.
I'm not so much into metal, but I just LOVE Judas Priest.
No one can go wrong with Priest.
They were like the first metal band that I heard wayyyyyyy back. They are legends in their own rank. Painkiller was just an amazing album.
Anyone listened to Fight, the band that Rob made. It was good. I guess with Rob's vocals every band was bound to sound good. I am sure most of you have read it already (Link).
Never listened to it. To be honest, I never really liked the idea of Halford being out of Priest. It just doesn't sit well with me.

Fight- It sounds different... REALLY different from Priest. Being a huge Priest fan, I'm a bit disappointed.
Lost Dreams- They're good! Their vocalist looks like an emo band reject, but they actually sound good.
Macbeth- They sound like Epica, only less epic...hmhmhm...
I do like Metal especially "post-hardcore" music
escapethefate, blessthefall, a skylit drive, a day to remember, the blackout, hopesdielast .....
been getting into viking metal recently, and holy crap Equilibrium is awesome. Their SAGAS album is fantastic
Viking Metal, do try Falkenbach, Folkearth, Finntroll.
Finntroll is so awesome. Ensiferum is rad too.
So I'm spaming in the general entertainement section.
I like metal very much not my favorite genre (wich is hard rock) but I like Black Sabath, Ozzy, AC/DC, Metallica, Black Label Society and Marilyn Manson (I was corrupted by a frind of mine :P )
