It wasn't technically filler, they are the people who make up Pain. I tihnk its better than the bmanga which gave just one shot of them and it didnt take up much time.

Great episodes, but I have a few questions though

Who is Hanzo?
Who is that third guy with Konan and Nagato?
How come that message says they died and they live?
Will Jiraya recognize them when he meet them? Or will they recognize Jiraya?
Why would they fight him If he trained them.

this actually allows us to peek at what they will do for naruto's upcoming sage training in the anime ver. It also better illustrates how jiraiya got to the moutain in the first place and how someone as smart as minato could have created a space time jutsu(hirashin) from that...lol

I believe this is the first time ive ever been happy with a shippuuden ep...besides the kakuzu hidan vs kakashi ep

Never mind that, those were excellent episodes, I loved them even though I read the manga.

Also it was a great move from the animators when they showed how Jir met the Pain bodies. Manga didn't make that clear enough.

10/10 easily.

also what you said about the manga didnt made it clear enough is correct. I like how they show all 6 of them. I didnt caught the 6th one untill i watch over and saw that he was the puppet master and that explains alot why he can do what he does great episode and we see from here it is where oro get obsessed with what he is now immortality

i know Minato died after seal Kyuubi ... but her ?? it is very mystery ...

Jirayia is best of Sensei for Pain, Minato, and Naruto .. they are powerful Ninja ..

Great Episode I give a 10/10 good animation, nice that the animation team give more information about each of the six body's, and we finally hear what naruto's mother sound's like.

I really liked the episodes overall, including the filler. I give them a 10/10. I am not a big fan of altering the timeline of some of the occurrences, but maybe it will work out for the best in the anime.

Wow, I'm blown away, these episodes were absolutely amazing. Jiraiya's complete timeline is so interesting, and the way it was presented in these episodes does it the justice it doesn't get in the manga. To be able to follow him through his life and his destiny/decisions instead of getting fragments here and there when it was needed for the plot was awesome.

127, while mostly filler, was also so very interesting because of all the bodies of Pain, and I loved the link they made between Animal Realm and The Gutsy Ninja. That first part of the book was supposedly just thought up of by Jiraiya, but this way works really good too. I suppose it was rather vague for non-manga readers though, with Fukasaku and Shima, the Elder Toad and all those random guys Jiraiya encounters.

128 was just fantastic, it's good that they got that out of the way so that we don't get a huge interruption just before the major upcoming fight. They really made it all very well how Jiraiya met those three, including amazing music (Yahiko appearing - was it me or is his voice ridiculously heavy for his age? lol). And ending with Minato and Kushina, I really didn't expect that, but it was a very nice ending. I just wonder how they're gonna do it now

when Jiraiya forces himself back to life. That's going to need some proper emotional impact and after they showed this, I wonder if they'll reach that same impact as in the manga.

But yeah absolutely amazing, these two episodes might just be my favorite in Shippuuden.
