[Shoujo] Stardust Wink by Haruta Nana

    Stardust Wink
    By: Haruta Nana
    Genre: Romance
    Serialized In: Ribon
    Scanlated By: Starry Heaven

I’m Anna. I’m 14 years old and I’ve just entered the ninth grade. Sou and Hinata, who live in the same apartment complex as me, are my childhood friends and we’re all the same age. I thought that from now on we’d become even closer friends, but then Sou suddenly did that to me…!!

Stardust Wink is the new series by Love Berrish! mangaka Haruta Nana. Not the most innovative shojo ever but a really fun series with convincing characters and a lot of emotional depth. Typically cute manga from Ribon, well worth reading!

Heh? Since when was there a thread for this? I'll comment to make this thread less loney T^T

It's a shame Haruta Nana's work would never be a big hit. There's just nothing flashy about it. Her stuff never sound good on paper, once it is written, it is always a joy to read. I wonder would she ever work on a mahou shoujo? Something along the lines of Ultra Maniac, laying more towards romance then the mahou part? Unfortunately nowadays elementary shoujo never gain much sucess without the magic in it. (The only one managed to be a sucess is Aishiteru Baby, and possibly Kitchen Princess and Shinshi Doumei Cross)

I never even expected this to be scanlated till I saw it on onemanga today. But this is too DARN adorable. It's very typical, yet it doesn't feel cheesy. There's always something special about the characters she write. No wonder she managed to be serialized during High school (don't let Bakuman fool you thinking serializing during high school is easy). The situation in this series is definitely more exciting then the stuff she wrote before.

Shueisha give this a vomic...I'll be one happy fangirl. If Sakura Hime Gaiden, Mistress Fortune, Momo and Rock'in Heaven got one, why can't something by Haruta Nana get one?

I wanted a totally girly sigature...

I really love Nana Harutas artwork... the characters are really cute... as for the Stardust Wink story... well, it´s a typical shojo story. Though, it doesn´t have that certain something to call it a "must read" Manga

    Description:

    My point of view:

An interesting manga i should say. Art is beautiful, you really enjoy reading this. Plot is hmmm at first i thought it would be your usual love triangle but there is something more to it. Female lead has a hard time to start a relationship since the 2 guys are her childhood friends, who are the best lookers in school (^^). Nice plot.

    Re: Stardust wink

I think this one is not very popular, eh?

Anyway, I am usually not fond of this kind of shoujo manga since I think the stories are usually shallow and typical. But, I don't know why I keep coming back to read this one. There is something different about this manga. I'm just a bit annoyed that Anna is still the typical female lead and that they are all so young.
My favorite character is Hinata, he's a quiet person (and a bit dense, I think) but he's really handsome!
It's too bad that we won't see much of him anymore (it seems). I don't really like Sou.
And now there's a bad, bad girl (another typical character) who will screw our protagonist's life.
So for now let's see how the story will turn out.
