The latest chapter of Psyren was a vast improvement over the previous couple. That doesn't mean it can't possibly end by chapter 150, but it could mean that Iwashiro wants to end it naturally and the editorial staff is letting him.

Yeah, I don't think anyone would be surprised by Toriko getting an anime. It's been pretty much a lock to get one for a long time now.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2010] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

Not a bad TOC. I'm always happy to see a mix-up in the Top 5.

As xi0 said, if Psyren is indeed ending, I think the editorial staff will allow it to end naturally. It's been in a slump lately, but the series did have a time where it shined.

I'm glad Oubutsu is hanging in there.

This week is #43. Naruto's on hiatus until #45, meaning it'll be back in #45, aka in 2 weeks time

Y'know, I can't help but think maybe this was set-up for the other mangas to bump up their skills. I mean, OP gets a 4 week break. Then Naruto gets a break the issue OP gets back. I think the editorial department decided to give a fighting chance for the others, but I'm afraid if they did, the planning was kinda poor.

If they planned on that, they should've had both OP & Naruto on hiatus. (of course, the amount of hiatus time would be different) It would be hellish, but it is seriously needed.

Kishi holds the importance of the new generation taking over, and Oda seems to agree as well. So, if they did do that that would be very impressive of them and would skyrocket my respect for them.

i think the reason is that if both were in hiatus less copies of shonen jump magazines will be sold

Yeah, but I do think Oda & Kishi really wants to do something like that. And frankly, I would definitely agree. Someone needs to take over their thrones. (Kishi's especially)

Honestly, there really isn't going to be anyone that takes their thrones...at least not anytime soon. See, the audience for manga is changing. One piece, Naruto, and Bleach have massive sales, but now things are....kind of evenly spreading around. Newer manga that aren't Shuiesha born are taking on sales, and while they're not One piece huge, they're holding their own. I guess what I'm saying is that there won't be just one or even three 'super manga', but several really popular ones, from a range of generes and magazines. Maybe at some point, there will be another mega hit of One piece proportions, but for right now when Kishi, Oda, and Kubo abdicate their thrones, it is this humble translator's opinion that they will stay empty for quite some time.

Great TOC, great cover. It is a good issue. I am really looking foward to the five one shots. Ah speaking of one shots, somehow I cant find the winner of this year golden future cup. Who was it again?

@foundway - I think will know who the winner in February/March like Metalica in 2010 and Beelzebub in 2009

Can someone upload the poster of the new volumes of October? If there was one in #43
