Other than Bleach and Naruto I follow Blood+ and Noein. Noein has no manga and Blood+ IMHO is much better in anime form than any manga version (there are 3). I used to be Noein crazed but there has been a long break since the last episode was subbed and so my affection has waned. Blood+, on the other hand, has gotten incredibly interesting and exciting in the last month or so and is really whats helping me cope with Bleach and Naruto fillers. That and reading those mangas of course ... which are usually better than the anime (excluding some wonderful action sequences) ....
Started on the One Piece anime today, and it's looking good so far, but the bright colors make it a lot more kiddy-like than it really is.
I finished watching FMA and the last episode made me go o_O huh? I watched the first two episodes of Blood+ and I don't think I'll be watching any more. It doesn't seem like something that'll catch my interest. Recent anime has been getting pretty blah. Original storylines and characters are far and few. Even Samurai Champloo was pretty disappointing. I'll be happy if I'm wrong, and I'm just picking the wrong anime to get into. I haven't been searching that hard lately anyway. But whatever.
Yeah, the last episode of FMA was a bit wierd. However, perhaps you should consider downloading the FMA movie. It finishes off the story. You can get it here (the one you want is called Full Metal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shambala (Psyke Rip)):Originally Posted by chunks
It finished things much better than the anime did, IMO.
P.S. If you'd rather just have a torrent link, say so and I'll try to find one.
Yeah, the movie gave me that warm feeling that I wanted from the end. ^_^
FMA almost made me cry towards the end. Samurai 7 was cool but never finished it since my pc caught a evil virus back when I was downloading all the episodes like 2 years ago I believe. Has it been that long maybe it was a year ago. Anyway, Cowboy bebop is also very good and I just got into Onepiece recently, seen up to episode 81 waiting for my boy to hook me up with the rest. Ofcourse Naruto but stopped watching after the Naruto/Sasuke fight.
Onepiece is funnier and the stories are better than Naruto. I also like the gunplay and pirate themes. Naruto has better fight scenes thow and visually better. Onepiece and Naruto go hand in hand for me now just waiting to start Bleach since I hear so much of it.
Thanks for the link MnK. I was on the verge of when the armour started speaking to Ed.
Peacemaker is a real surprise package. It follows the trials and tribulations of the Shinsengumi - from their persepctive.
Apart from a dodgy middle bit, it successfully combines sword action, lots of blood, comedy, lots of blood, romance, lots of blood and massive dollops of drama and did I mention lots of blood? You could sail a ship across the blood spilled in this series, particularly towards the end.
You name some troubling aspect of the human condition and you'll find it here: angst, betrayal, madness, obsession, delusion, gang rape, torture (that scene was brutal), vengeance, violence, disease, death, corruption, prostitution...man, I could go on...and a lot of this is packed into the last 7 episodes.
Well worth checking out!
Ohh, the Shinsengumi. I'll have to check it out.
Yeah...I was the same when watching FMA. Towards the end it got a weird twist. But nevertheless it was really good. A serious story somehow, many fights, interesting world, good character design.Originally Posted by chunks
I remember hearing some good words about Paranoia Agent (sp?) and also Karas, though from different sources. This friend of mine is absolutely obssesed over Karas, he is also an anime and RPG freak, plays WoW and has a druid simply because the class description was "A jack of all trades, but master of none". Now, these comments wheren't made to make the guy sounds like a wacko, rather a respectable source, now tell me what do you think about those anime, if you know.
[mental note]Get dsl, don't wait to download all those anime from 3D [/mental note]
We almost forgot the classics of "heavy mental load and philosophy" genre - Evangelion. I went through it a long time ago and that's so far the most dense anime I've ever seen. Dark and gloomy, pesimism and desperation. But it's classics so no reason to hate it, reason to honor it.
paranoia agant is weird, but i have only seen half of it.
Just saw Howl's Moving Castle. Loved it.
i cought your mental note Anax i agree
well, now i can just inform you on my favorite anime list - watch them(series and movies)
Rurouni Kenshin(i know to tell that it speaks of true events during the era that it is shown - 1800A.D.)
Have I told you that i am a Final Fantasy lover??? well since it is known as a game, a manga and an anime i can speak for it i believe.
As a game i am addicted in the tittle Final Fantasy VII
the movies Final Fantasy VII - Advent Children and Final Fantasy VII - Last Order are the two ones that made my blood boil. i just love them.
as a manga isn't well known and i don't have much info about this so...
Sephiroth is my god and Lord_Sephiroth would be my other choise as my nickname instead of ILUVATAR
Hey, I recommend to watch an anime named Elfen Lied.
I know it's a bit old but, for those who haven't seen it yet, is very cool.
It has lot of violence, blood, nudity and stuff, but that's like the secondary idea.
The history is very simple, but you discover it at the very end. And is very deep on feelings, like love (it sounds cursy, but, for real, it's very interesting). I think animes like that are great. I mean, is not just killing people, or showing naked girls... it has to be more deepthan that. It's like Evangelion. They kill Angels, show Misato in promising positions (Episode 1 comes to mind) but the story isnot about that, is about feelings, and evolution, and love (remember Gendo that he couldn't forget Yui, or even Shinji and Asuka...) That kind of stories are interesting to watch...
I tell you this because I've finished it last week or so, and really liked the story. And it's not that long (about 13 episodes), so it doesn't take to many time to watch it.
The only problem is that I don't know where to download it (I burned the DVDs from a friend). Later I will be giving you an address.
Well, that's it. If you get to watch it, enjoy...
