    Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout

Korean animation is still pretty rare, especially compared to Japan and China, but it's there when you look for it hard enough.

The problem (if you want to refer to it as a bad thing) is, though, that while there are quite a lot of south korean animation studios, they mostly work on japanese productions. For example MadHouse studios (the japanese company) is well known for working extensively with korean subsidiary Dr Movie.

Take a look at the endings of anime series you watch: you'll notice a whole lot of korean names on the credit roll.

Yeah I saw it last 2 months ago, it was very cute but somewhere along the way, it's as if they forgot the story. The animation and music was all good as you'd come to expect from Studio Ghibli films but the story really lacked. Did you watch it recently?

I watched about the same time as you did, I think. I wanted to know what you guys thought about it. So far I know my sisters and I got this look on our faces after watching the movie like "so um... what now?"

    Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout

I found that the story had a touch of Little Mermaid in there, but that's not really what disappointed me. Normally when I watch a Ghibli movie, you really do feel connected to the characters and take the journey with them but with this one it was "okay, so where are they taking us now?"

Which other Ghibli movie have you seen? the one I saw before this, Whisper of the Hearts was amazing; I put off watching it for ages but I'm glad I finally did, it had a very good story.

I've watched a lot of Ghibli movies, even the ones that didn't become famous, because i have the whole box collection up to Spirited away.

    GA-REI –zero / Lost Symphony

After watching that ^ AMV, I have become really interested in Ga-rei-Zero. I’m not sure but if IIRC think Kaiten-kun recommended me Ga-rei the manga or mentioned to me the manga some time ago. But I was wondering, has anyone here watched Ga-rei the anime?
Thank you so much for my cute avy GenjiChan and for my awesome sig, Reverzer0!

    Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout

I read the manga (I've fallen waaaaay behind) but never tried the anime. The anime is a spin off, prequel, or something. It doesn't follow the main story of the manga. It kind of scared me away. Try Natsume Yuujinchou if your looking for something to watch. Great anime based on a great manga. I'm very slowly watching it. I've been a lazy anime fan recently. I've fallen behind with all my shows.
I'm working on catching up with KimiTodo. The spring season looks like its going to be good, I want to be ready.
