I also had playback issues. It was my computer, the processor wasn't fast enough, not enough memory. I switched computers a few months ago and have not had a problem since.

My previous computer worked great before the sound died on it. And then I ended up buying one with worse specs because of money.

Watching Railgun S with playback issues was depressing, but still worth it. Thankfully I'm able to stream most of the fall season shows.

    Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout

That's when streaming really comes in handy. Pretty much every show this season seems to be streaming this season, you shouldn't have to miss anything. For some reason my old computer usually only lagged during the OP. Content normally was fine for TV anime, at least. I couldn't play 1080p at all, and even some 720p movies didn't play well. It wasn't even that bad a computer. I got in 2009, time just passed it by. I'm using a hand me down laptop now, but it's newer, and has more memory than my old computer. I plug it into my regular monitor (20 inch, 1080p) and everything looks spectacular. Anime playback is really demanding. Fansubbers always seem to be at the cutting edge. Not always the best thing for anyone with a computer more than two or three years old.

When they don't have a standard maximum file size as movies do/did due to cd formats, that's what you get. Nearly, no compression, but a suffering framerate in return. Those 500-700mb 20min releases. :/

Not really news, but I really like this. The web splash for KyoAni's upcoming fan appreciation event:

I found this on Manten tonight, and think it's kind of interesting. These are popularity fall anime popularity rankings based (from what I can tell) on number of downloads to PS3. I'm using google translate (I don't speak Japanese), and trying to interpret the gibberish, so I might be missing some details. Here's the list:
    1. Kill la Kill
    2. Kyoutai no Kanata
    3. Outbreak Company
    4. Kyousougiga
    5. IS: Infinite Stratos 2
    6. Galilei Donna
    7. Strike the Blood
    8. Nagiasu
    9. Machine Doll
    10. Yusibu
There could be other popular shows this season, but it's a good bet these ten will all be popular.

The best part was that it was filled with mystery meat. Lawson's was giving away an autographed copy of the Gintama movie to anyone who correctly guessed the filling.

    Re: Otaku Theater: Anime Hangout

I just finished last weeks anime yesterday

When I'm watching this many shows I don't mind falling a few days behind. I fell a week behind on Diamond no Ace once, by accident. It got lost in the shuffle a few weeks ago, I had to watch two episodes that week. I usually don't fall behind on week day shows, like Kyoukai and Tokyo Ravens. It's over the weekend, when I'm busier with RL, that I fall behind. I usually end up finishing on Monday and Tuesday. Completed shows are a nightmare. When I had fewer new shows to watch, could finish a twelve episode anime in a week, or less. A two cour anime might take two weeks. Now, I'm lucky if I finish in a month. Summer and fall have had so many good new shows, I've ended up watching more than I usually do. I did not watch this many shows in the winter or spring, last fall either.

Yes, completed shows are awful to fit into my schedule especially this season. I started Outlaw Star this summer and only watched seven episodes, and started Gintama s1 way back in February and am only at ep 30 the anime are good its just hard to fit in. Last complete anime I ran through fast was Cardfight!! Vanguard s1-s2 eng dub, I was doing four episodes daily to get through the 102 eps, completely worth it.

I started the Tamayura franchise in September, making it through the OVA's and first season by the beginning of October. It took me almost a month to watch season two, a one cour anime. I started JoJo's the first week of November, just watching episode five yesterday. Between school, work, and watching 19 new anime I have not had a lot of time to catch up.

Speaking of the Elizabeth bun, someone microwaved it and the result came out like this.

    Spoiler: Huge image show
