Now the whole thing is even more exciting.
Freaking awesome!!!!! now each of them 3 have their own group and has the very same reason(to protect each other), but they wage war against each other. Izaya is the most clever villain ever.
Just seen Ep. 18
so all along izaya is behind all or is there someone behind izaya.
i think anri will die soon when kida and mikado fight it off
Izaya is one damn genius...but i guess he is playing on dangerous waters... ep 18 was a bit down compared to 17 but i think 19 onwards will blow the things up
its a possibility but i wish we get a 50 episoder
The anime is ending June 24th. It's only going to be 24 episodes total.
i really like Durrara but 50 eps would have been overloading with no content...they did it right to decide on this anime to be a 24 epis
I want to cut
Desire, is, want
Love, not enough, love
Want, love, people
More, strong, love, want
Desire, I, mother, mother
haha, haha, haha
haha, haha, haha, hahahaha
I'm just wondering if it'll end off with the current "arc" finished, or if it'll end right in the middle of things, kind of like Air Gear did. I don't expect Celty's story to reach a conclusion by episode 24 at least, but maybe this gang war will.
Hopefully there will be another season of Durarara! if the ratings were good.
I really love this anime. I haven't watched something this exciting since Code Geass. The way the story is presented through different people's point of view, and how even though we see the main characters inner thoughts through narration, they still hide things from the viewers, is brilliant. I like pretty much every character in the anime except for Seiji and Mika. Celty is probably my favorite.
The whole presentation is really nice with how Tokyo is portrayed, and everyday things like 2ch message boards, etc. The whole presentation, graphics and music alike, feels really stylish and modern. A bit Persona 3-like.
I was also bummed that they changed the OP since I was so used to seeing Celty riding her bike to that tune whenever I started watching a new episode. But the new OP song is really great too. I end up listening to it more than OP 1. It sounds more climactic, like it makes you think about how far everyone's gone, and how it came to this point.
The story about best friends taking different and opposing paths is a classic and tried theme, and I think they're doing it really well here. Especially since they built things up for so long before revealing some big plot twists.
Anyway, what I wanted to ask you guys is if anyone has any recommendations for a good subgroup for Durarara!? By that I mean someone who has checked out different ones and noticed which one is the most consistent in it's translation?
I've watched a few different ones, but not different ones for each episode, so I can't really judge it well.
The only thing I noticed was that in AnCo^2's subs they had Celty say "I don't know about controlling her though.." while in Crunchier's subs she said "I don't know about cutting off my head though.." which I think was the correct translation, since I heard her say "kubi".

Has anyone already seen this week's episode?
So Ep 24 was the last episode. I must say it was excellent, but not as good as the previous three or so episodes. No wonder though as it was almost purely aftermath material. It kind of left the story open for a timeskip. I haven't read the light novels so I got no clue how the story progresses after this. I can only hope that the anime gets a go for further production next season. The ratings must have been quite high for this series, if they weren't then the raters must have had a really weird sense of taste.
I think it was rated quite high. For one the light novels increased a lot in sales, the DVDs sold well I heard, and there's a large assortment of Nico Nico Douga fanmade OPs/EDs parodying Durarara!'s.
