    General Overview:

Knock, knock. Who's there? D. D - who? Divorce that's what. If thought that was lame, it was also lame when Ninomiya Shoutaro and Takahiro Natsumi were confronted with it. For them, it was a heart shattering or an unbelievable event that crippled them emotionally. Ninomiya Shoutaru rushed home to share the good news of his being awarded "Hardest Worker" with his wife only to be presented with divorce papers. Takahiro Natsumi opened the door to find her husband's mistress wrapped in a towel. If life wasn't cruel enough, these two ended up being under the same roof with both their own respective kids!

    Category Ratings: (1-10 scale)

    Art: 8

The art style is adorable. It's well drawn and simplistic. The layout was simple and easy to follow. For some odd reason, I felt as if the mangaka accomplished very much with simplisticity. There doesn't feel as if there's much to each page but the art work does its' job of visually conveying the story well.

    Plot: 8

A very enjoyable plot. I loved how Yamahana Noriyuki started out with a fiction-like introduction. It threw me off a bit when I first started reading Orange Yane no Chiisane Ie. The interactions between the characters proved to be interesting since a lot of it takes place under one roof. Perhaps, the real reason why I like reading this manga is that it's like peeking into the lives of strangers. It's like manga-reality T.V.

    Characters: 10

It's was interesting to see how the relationships between the two family evolved. It was complicated and frustrating that so much trouble had to happen in such a short amount of time to both families. Over time, the differences were resolved.

One amazing thing was how the children of the two didn't stay with their other parent but rather chose to stay with their current parent.

    Theme: 8

Fate might be seen as the theme of this manga. At times, we just don't know what's going on, and why does things happen the way they do? Certainly for this manga, the lives of Ninomiya Shoutaru and Takahiro Natsumi had to be set up in such a way that allowed the two of them to come together.

Upon further reflection, sometimes bad things turns out to be good. Most people fail to see this when they experience bad things, but afterward, found what they went through was really beneficial. Even though it must be tough times for Ninomiya Shoutaru and Takahiro Natsumi, the experience actually turned out to be pleasant. Then again, this might go back to being related to fate.

    Originality: 8

For a love story, this one was set up in a very interesting fashion and brought together nicely. It's not just only single people who fall in love and this is why Orange Yane no Chiisana Ie is particularly interesting.

    Overall: 8

This fictional work shows off an idealistic husband, an idealistic wife and idealistic children in a non-idealistic situation. Things don't always go right, but the two families seems to be able to cope with anything.

Good read. I would recommend it for those that enjoy a laid back read. That's how I felt.

Just a note, there are scenes of bare breasts.
