    Confused katakana... meaning?

here is the katakana phrase/word in question:

    ヘタッピ

    Whole text box:

    作るのはまだヘタッピだけど

she's talking about making cakes, BTW. I kinda get what she means, just want to make sure.

i have yet another katakana I don't know.

    Phrase:
    こんなにゴーインなの

She's talking about another character. Please and thank you.

That would be 強引 -- forceful, coercive.

    Re: katakana... meaning?

And yet another one: I seem to hate katakana. Why are they written in kata if they have kanji?

    モタモタしない

and also.... how does this translate? it's not katakana. kinda.
    ゴーインどころか
    バニラって
    かわいい顔して

What's the "dokoroka" mean? it sounds like... 'place'.

One of the functions of katakana is to emphasize text. So a word normally written in kanji might be written in katakana for emphasis.

You can use a dictionary for something like this.
    もたもた (adv,n,vs) (on-mim) inefficient; slow
モタモタしない -- something like "get moving"

    Quote Quote:
    ゴーインどころか
    Again, use a dictionary.
所か; 処か 【どころか】 (suf) (1) (uk) far from; anything but; not at all; (2) let alone; to say nothing of; not to speak of; much less
So w/o additional context, this is probably something like "anything but forceful".

    Vanilla

Make a cute face, have a cute expression on the face.

You don't need to own a dictionary. I've been using http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/~jwb/c...wwwjdic.cgi?1C so far.

    My personal favorite is http://jisho.org/

But if you want to use a Japanese dictionary, Space ALC is very good. It's both EJ and JE.
