While there's a certain degree of context necessary to figure out what's good and what's bad, can anyone realistically come up with a defense for someone who's a genocide collaborator and clearly enjoying it? I don't see how that could be 'good' given any set of circumstances, particularly since the people of Edolas don't appear to be suffering from a harsh regime or anything - their entire goal is to steal a bunch of magic so they can play with it.

magic is the main element on this manga, Edoras need magic in order to survive Faust serves the ideals of all those on Edoras and apart Mist and Lily,I did not see anyone complaining about the sytem of Faust.

Survival? They could clearly live without it, they just choose not to. Magic isn't like food/water/shelter, it's something they just want to make a grab at so that they can have an easy life. Just cause it'll be hard after doesn't give anyone the right to commit genocide.

They forbid anyone outside of the capital city to use magic, and they are using the remaining magic they collect from everywhere else for luxury and amusment parks...
If everyone in Edoras were happy about that there wouldnt be black guilds and a black market selling magic.

It is just a waste of magic. If the floating islands are that dangerous they could had used the magic they had to pull them down to earth.

Edolas doesn't *need* magic. They clearly use it for completely frivolous purposes like the amusement park, etc. If it's a matter of Extalia falling on them, they can (however large the burden) merely move away from the kingdom.

King Faust is, like his namesake, making a deal with the Devil - exchanging his soul for physical pleasures. The character is clearly written to be completely unsympathetic and is named consistently with this intention. What he wants is to have his own little paradise in his kingdom on his terms, no matter the cost to others. And yes, most of us would call that clearly evil.

as for the regular people of Edoras its simple they are merely folowers. People that follow a charismatic leader/ a promise. And dont want to think for themselves or feel the consequences of their actions. Something like...its far away why should i care.

To make it more dramatic arnt we living off the poor people of this planet as it is today? Most of our products are made in the 3rd world just so its cheap to all of us. We dont realy care for how people are treated and what is done about it is so little. Yet we judge manga characters for their morality
And if you dont believe people suffer from your shopping habbits perhaps you should read some reports on the issue or just google it its pretty easy to find :P
