another good place to get japanese imported goods is through a local store and warehouse here called WIZZYWIG collectibles u can find them here http://www.wizzywig.com though in recent months their product collection had gone fairly down hill but its worth taking a look at :P in past years they have been known to carry japnese books, manga, and imported dvds
I also want to point out there's another Japanese collectibles/ entertaiment store in the Southeastern Michigan area, its called Mirai and its located on 42705 Grand River Ave # B, Novi, MI - (248) 374-3200
They used to have a website but it was taken down I believe, anyways this is where I go on a regular basis because they Sell Weekly Shonen Jump there. I even picked up issue 33 just the other day and that just came out last week! so they get in new merchandise very quickly.
Well a lot of the anime and manga releases from Japan are exported all over the world. As far as raws not coming from Japan, weekly magazines like Shonen Jump are not only sold in Japan but are exported to other countries. How do I know this, well thats because there is an actuall brick and mortar store near where I live that sells the magazine.
Hi. This is very helpful. The only thing I need to know is if I buy some mangas from a Japanese store and they are sent to the US, how much would the US Customs charge me? Would I have to pay anything? I'm very confused about this. No one from the US on this thread has mentioned anything about it...
That kind of helps. I don't know if this is true or not, but someone told me that since the US and Japan have tense relationships when it comes to importing/exporting, the fees are high. Can anyone in the US tell me if they have to pay customs fines or something that isn't price of books + shipping?
