Awesome chapter, Guts is really handing their ass to them, but they seem endless...I don't really want Guts to use his armor, though it might be useful if he would slowly learn to control it...

I noticed that Miura's art is changing slowly, I mean in this chapter Guts looks older than usual, his facial design is a bit different...am I just imagining stuff, or maybe I noticed this very late

Well ya EG has a great translator. As people have explained Miura uses a complex script which is hard for some translators to translate correctly, it takes someone who KNOWS the language to do it properly. Though some chapters have like no dialog :P

Well after reading the chapter I am sure you all would like to know the next chapter is due out July 23rd, w00t!

Hell yeah! That makes it 3 in a row and hopefully a 4th will come out before he goes back to work, but I highly doubt it. I think I know why he takes so much time to complete a chapter: he does 2-3-4 of them at a time and releases them in a bundle (following the magazine's schedule, that is), does another batch, goes back to work and so on, but I guess most of you figured it out.

About the drawing style, Guts does look like he's close to his 30's now... o_O

And yeah, after skimming through some raws, Miura does use a crapload of difficult kanji. Just what you'd expect from a serious, epic seinen, actually.

My guess is Guts is actually in his 30s, but its hard to say. The only noted years are the ones in the Golden Age flashback. He may not actually be that old, but all the crap he goes through probably does a number on his body anyways.

He does have some of the best spellbinders and fairies to heal him...

I hear stress is the thing that shows old age the most. Be it that Guts' gf is retarded and he is on a journey that may/may not help her and wants to kill his bff who raped his gf coupled with random monsters always trying to rape/and/or kill him... i think he's a little stressed. I can't help but wonder how his ligaments and bones are still intact to the point of being functional over all these years...

Yeah, it's hard to say exactly, but going from what I've noted in the chapters:

He was 11 when he killed Gambino
4 years later he met the band of the hawk
3 years later he met Zodd
Plus/minus a year later, the war was won
Few months passed, then he left the hawks
spent a year on his own
Came back, and then the eclipsed happened
Month or so, he leaves and then comes back 2 years later

Puts him at like 22-23. But of course, I don't think the intention was to keep tabs on his age throughout the story ha. I just noted the few times they indicated any passage of time. As far as it goes, they always protrayed the characters looking older than they really are (if you take it literally).

Is correct, there is a graph from skull knights website (well timezone) of what happens. Last time i checked it he was 21 years old, i think there's a link somewhere here. Guts started to look old when the fairy apostle pierced his cheeks and then when he first wore the berserker armor, the moment the head part came off he got that little white hair. Its all the effects of wearing that armor which would explain why SK is a skull now.

I remember maybe last year when Berserk was coming back from a hiatus, the announcement in the magazine that it was returning depicted a really old looking Guts. Maybe it was meant to imply something.

Nickpizzo post a link of the timeline and has guts age, his 21 when he goes to save caska from mongus. So from that it was like 3 months later he and the group meet up who have been traveling for about 6 months now, so his 22 years old.


Yeah he does look alot older but i think its to do with the berserk armor, Farny in the last chapter yelled out that he must never use it again. Its killing him, its hardcore though but guts is gonna die soon if he keeps using unless...he becomes what everyone says he is 'not human'

It was the japanese version a while ago, but it seems that they changed it.
