This anime is based on Okita Masashi's romantic comedy light novel series.

I watched the first episode and I enjoyed watching it very much. Ookami didn’t have me ROFL during the whole episode but there were a few moments that made me .

This episode’s fairy tale was Cinderella and the way they played around that story was funny and original.

The things I liked the most in this episode were:

    - Ryoshi’s confession and compliments to the girl he likes. "...you act so wild and manly.." Poor Ryoshi, he was so clueless to the fact that girls wouldn’t normally take those as compliments.

-Ryoshi’s scopophobia (the unreasonable fear of being seen or being stared at). It was the source of many laughs, but it was cool to see Ryoshi overcoming his fear even if for a few moments for the sake of the girl he likes. Btw, his hair style reminds me so much of Koyomi Araragi from Bakemonogatari...

-Ryoshi unintentionally revealing what was under the towel to both Ryoko and Ringo, and causing Ryoko to blush in embarrassment.

-The kick of love from "Cinderella" to his "prince" and how the "prince" found the identity of his "princess".

-The Neko-Neko Knuckles, cute and lethal!! The sound they make and the marks they leave behind are priceless.

-The familiar voice from B gata H Kei (if I'm not mistaken) who also plays the narrator in this series.

-And I’m not sure if it is the opening or ending, I think it's the OP... but the thing is that I like it.

Ryoko looks very similar to Taiga from Toradora but she isn’t related to Taiga in any way. She is a completely different character who just happens to share some physical characteristics and personality traits with Taiga.

It’s not just by girls, it’s also by boys. He has a scopophobia the irrational fear of being seen or being stared at.

    From Wikipedia:
    Quote Quote:
Scopophobia or scoptophobia is the unreasonable fear of being seen or being stared at. It is an outdated piece of psychological terminology, with few references being made to the journal in which it was originally proposed.

A 1906 journal in what is called now psychiatry writes:

Then, there is a fear of being seen and a shamefacedness, which one sees in asylums.<...> We called it scopophobia — a morbid dread of being seen. In minor degree, it is morbid shamefacedness, and the patient covers the face with his or her hands. In greater degree, the patient will shun the visitor and escape from his or her sight where this is possible. Scopophobia is more often manifest among women than among men.

Later, on p. 285 scopophobia is defined as "a fear of seeing people or being seen, especially of strange faces."

I gave this a try just because it is by JC Staff and loved it! Love the sense of humor, the action, the manga and fairy tail references, and all three of the leads. Neko-neko knuckles, the pumpkin careening through the streets, and the kick were some of the highlights. Ringo is adorable, love that two of the main characters are Wolf and Red

Re: Ookami-san To Shichinin No Nakama-tachi

    Episode 2

I loved this episode!! It is nice to see that while this anime is a comedy (it is a parody of fairy tales after all), it also has some depth to it.

-The conversation between Ringo and Ryoushi was great. Ringo can finally feel at ease, since she now knows the real reasons why Ryoushi likes Ryouko. Ryoushi likes Ryouko because she is a tsundere and because despise her weaknesses she’s always working hard to become strong. He has realized (despise his appearance Ryoushi is quite perceptive and sharp) that Ryouko’s tough and strong exterior is not her real self but that she is actually girly, delicate and weak/fragile but of course she keeps all that strongly hidden on the inside. Ringo was glad that Ryoushi was able to see through Ryouko’s exterior and that he had fallen for the real Ryouko.

-Another great conversation that happened during this episode was the one between young Ryouko from the past (she was so cute!!) and teen Ryouko from the present. It seems like something very hurtful happened in the past where Ryouko suffered a painful disappointment that convinced her she couldn’t depend on anyone and that she could only rely on herself. But the truth was that she had been wishing for someone she could depend on, someone who could help her and protect her…someone she could freely show her weaknesses to. Ryouko is a sheep in wolf’s clothing; a sweet, kind, delicate girl protecting herself from being hurt by showing everyone a scary, aggressive and strong exterior.

-Ryoushi…he was utterly amazing during this episode!! The way he protected Ryouko and let her know that she could depend on him and trust him with her back was fantastic. He did his best to protect her while acting as her shield and he even got hurt because of it; unfortunately he failed that time but he didn’t give up rather he returned stronger and more confident and ready to show us his excellent skills as a hunter by using his pachinko and then for the finishing touch he protected Ryouko from the leader of the bad guys by knocking the guy out with a mighty punch to the face. He even openly declared in front of everyone that he will be the one who will catch Ryouko (and make her his woman). Ryoushi’s hunter side is awesome!!! And this side of him surely didn’t go unnoticed by Ryouko, she now knows she can count on him; his support allows her to do her best and become stronger.

-It was also nice how everyone helped in some way and in their own way to save Ryouko from the bad guys …team work ftw!!!

I don’t know why I didn’t notice this until you mentioned it Kaiten-kun…but yes, you are right. And taking what happened in episode 2 into consideration we have:

    Ringo: Little Red Riding Hood.
    Ryouko: The Wolf
    Ryoushi: The Hunter

    Episode 3

This time the fairy tale was the tortoise and the hare. It was a good and enjoyable episode that made me like Tarou even more than before; he is an incorrigible casanova but he is an awesome guy. There were a couple of surprises in this episode
    Spoiler show

    Episode 4

I’m definitely enjoying the even-numbered episodes of this series a lot more than the odd-numbered episodes. This episode was awesome!!

There were various moments where we got to see Ryouko’s girly side. ^_^ Like when she was buying the romance novel and when she admitted she liked reading that kind of literature, or when she got jealous of Otsuu and Ryoushi’s maid-and-master “relationship”, or when she got embarrassed when Yukime (Ryoushi’s aunt and the author of Ryouko’s favorite romance novel) saw through her and exposed her real feelings for Ryoushi.

However, the girl who stole this episode for me was Otsuu. She was so cute during this episode, and it was great to learn a little more about her past and the reason why she was so obsessed with returning every little favor she received. It was so sad to learn that the reason why she was like that was because when she was a little girl her dear childhood friend died when trying to protect her from getting hit by a car. That was a really painful and traumatizing event for Otsuu. So it was really nice to see how the Otogi gang helped Otsuu realize that you don’t need to keep track of favors between friends.

Other things worth mentioning that happened in this episode are how cute the girls looked in maid outfits and how pretty Majo looked without the glasses and the witch outfit.

    Episode 6

What an amazing episode!! It was nice to learn how Ringo and Ryoko became friends and it was truly touching to understand the reasons why Ryoko feels the need to act so rough and not let anyone get very close to her…she is afraid of getting hurt once again, or being betrayed once again; she acts so tough and strong to protect her true self, her gentle, delicate and sensitive self. She was so deeply hurt by what happened to her in middle school that she thought she would be better off if she were to go on by herself, if she were to be all alone without getting too close to anyone (and in that way not risking getting hurt again); but it was so sweet and wonderful how Ringo saw right through Ryoko and was able to see the real Ryoko (the one that is gentle, delicate, girly, kind and sweet) and also was able to make Ryoko realize that there were still people she could trust and depend on, that she didn’t have to close herself completely and be all alone, that Ringo was going to always be there for her. Ryoko is very lucky to have someone as Ringo in her life.

But Ringo wasn’t the only one who was able to see beyond Ryoko's tough exterior and was able to see the real Ryoko, Ryoushi was able to do it as well. I really liked how Ryoushi decided to become stronger so he could protect the girl he loves and how he was brave enough to confess his love to Ryoko one more time and this time his confession touched Ryoko’s heart more than the previous times; she was even happy about his confession.

Last but not least, Hitsujikai Shirou….what a despicable guy. He is a true wolf in sheep's clothing.

I agree and it hasn’t even been revealed if he did “that” or if he only tried to but couldn’t do it (because they were interrupted, because Ryoko hit him, etc.); either way just the fact that he tried to do something as horrible as that is enough to place him in my list of most despicable anime male characters.

Aw... episode 6 is another sweet show. (Ryoushi's definitely the guy of my type! ) But I was taken aback a bit by the flashback on Ryouko's past in ep. 5. Didn't expect such traumatic stuff in this lighthearted animation style I hope it's only misleading too though.

Ryoushi is definitely my favorite boy in this series. He is an incredible guy. I’m truly enjoying the way he is growing and developing character-wise.

It was an event that surprised a lot of fans, especially since most of us (if not all of us) saw this anime as a lighthearted romantic comedy. But since a couple of episodes ago I’ve realized that there is more to this series, that there is a nice depth and meaningfulness that I’m actually enjoying very much.

I don’t think it’s misleading; in fact, I think the drama part of this series will appear more and more as the series progresses.

    Episode 7

-This episode made me love the Ryoko x Ryoushi pairing even more than before!! Their date was so sweet and cute.

-13 year-old Ryoko was so adorable! It was nice to see how Ryoko used to be before the traumatic event with Shirou, but at the same time seeing how much Ryoko has changed made me dislike Shirou even more.

    - Thanks to the conversation between Shirou and Ryoushi we were able to learn a bit more about Ryoko’s past and that traumatic event. I think Shirou tried to rape her but couldn’t do it, so he came to the city to find her and finish what he couldn’t do in the past. That guy is so horrible!!

-Ryoushi was incredible, he told Shirou-oni that he believed in Ryoko, he said he didn’t care about Ryoko’s past and he made it clear that he was going to protect her.

Re: Ookami-san To Shichinin No Nakama-tachi

After I saw Destiny advertise this in her sig I decided to give it a go. I knew it wouldn't disappoint since she has recommended others that have turned out great.

Any who, I found "Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi" amusing and enjoyable from the very first episode. It's interesting to see how it makes connections to different fairy tales and the unique characters within the anime. Ryouko has to be my favorite character so far. She has this tough exterior to protect her vulnerable side which makes it hard for people to get close.

Ryouko & Ryoushi make a great couple and I can't wait until she accepts him even though she's already falling for him.

I am eagerly waiting for the next episode!

Ryouko's kawaii power at its finest. I’m really glad you decide to give Ookami a try, AI.

Ryouko is my favorite girl in this series. She is so interesting and complex and she has become one of my favorite tsundure anime girls. As you said, she is tough on the outside, but she is very soft and delicate on the inside. She used to be a very sweet, kind, shy and cute girl; but her personality radically changed because of a traumatic event in her past. Shiro!!

I agree. Ryouko and Ryoushi do make a great couple. And all of Ryoushi’s efforts have not been in vain, since he is slowly but surely winning Ryouko’s heart.

    Episode 8

    - “Okami-san and the 3 Pigs” The Movie! Ringo’s movie was great! And that “little” kiss at the end of the movie…wow, Ringo sure knows how to kiss. Our red-haired loli is a pretty good kisser.

    - Cameofest ftw! We had lots of cameos in this episode; the ones I recognized were the ones of Taiga and Minorin from Toradora.

-Hammel…I know why he did what he did (after all he wanted for his master to choose the right girl) but poor girls, Hammel insulted them left and right.

-This episode’s story was pretty enjoyable. It was funny, sweet and had a message: Don’t trust rumors and don’t make women angry!

Re: Ookami-san To Shichinin No Nakama-tachi

    Ookami-san to Shichinin no Nakama-tachi - Episode 12 [Final]

The final episode of this anime left me wanting more! There were many things that weren’t fully developed or explained and that I would really like to know more of. The last episode of this series was a very enjoyable one , it was one that solidified Ryoushi as my favorite character in this anime and that made me love him even more.

Machiko’s boldness and straightforwardness was hilariously cool . And while at the beginning of the ep the reason why she wanted to date Ryoushi and then marry him was purely because "he had money", in the end I think her feelings for Ryoushi became real; especially once she witnessed how cool Ryoushi can be, and boy he can be really cool. Unfortunately for Machiko, Ryoushi only has eyes for his Ryouko-san so she got rejected even before she could properly confess to him. But on the bright side, Machiko’s seduction plan helped to confirm Ryouko’s feelings for Ryoushi. She didn’t confess to our shy hunter, but at least our tsundere wolf didn’t hit Ryoushi when he confessed to her once again. ^_^

This episode was pretty open-ended which gives me some hope for a second season in the future.

I wouldn’t say that Ookami-san To Shichinin No Nakama-tachi is the hit anime of this anime season (Shiki and TLOTLH are the hits of this season IMHO) but I would absolutely say that it was very enjoyable watching this anime.
