Anybody else aside from me annoyed that the Vizards didn't have black eyes like Hiyori, Shinji and Ichigo originally did??? I thought it was a drawing error made by Kubo that would be corrected, but now I'm not so sure. Why is it so inconsistent??? The black eyes look awesome, its disappointing they keep changing it.

It was good aside from the flashback and the eyes. Looks like we get some Tousen fight filler next week, and there was a clip in the preview of Lisa attacking, so maybe some Halibel filler, which is really needed. I don't mind them spoiling Vizard zanpakuto in the ending, though I thought Tengumaru would be much bigger, and I didn't think the rose on Kinshara would be so big. Still confused as to what the hell Rose did to that Menos Grande,or perhaps how he did it to be more precise,though it was cool.

I never actually thought I would say these words, but I hope we get some filler fights, to expand this whole Espada business.

I've been waiting for a kick ass fight like the one Hisagi v Findor had, for what, a year?

That was the best fight in this whole anime arc.

Imagine expanding Hallibel's fight like that? Or maybe Starrk's? That would be so sick.

Clearly the animators can put up a great bloody fight, why are they holding back? Instead, they feed us garbage and stalling tactics. (Shunsui's swordsmanship vs Starrk ... *shiver*)

So thumbs up for potential coming up episodes.

4. So Rose's weird piano-magic-thing is like some sort of wire-type deal...I'd always imagined the Gillian being warped by...sound or something.

3. You make it sound like that's a bad thing. The art quality these last few weeks haven't been that good (like the Harribel fight in general), so if they are taking some pointers from Kubo's art, it's a good thing. (Although, I genuinely doubt they're just photoshopping some panels...)

3. Because it is. When I watch anime (or anything animated), I expect to see, you know.....movement. I know they aren't literally taking the pages and coloring them. I just got that feeling a couple of times.

I agree with Xsoteria. I hope they add in some filler to the fights.

Oh, and the ending looks pretty neat. It got me all excited for Starrk/Shunsui. Overall, the episode was good, though.

Oh, I getcha now. Yeah, the teeth shouldn't really look like that. They didn't in the manga, so...

The one good thing about the anime is sometimes they can make the story flow better, such as all the cliffhanger endings that turned out plain. For example the shinji attack on aizen looked much better when tousen countered right away. I hope they do the same with a lot of the attacks on aizen.

Has anyone else noticed how badly placed the music is these few episodes? When epic music should be played...Nothing.

Didn't watch the flashbacks, went straight to the action

Music was meh.

Pacing was also meh, but the art is really good and the animation too.

Shinji attacking Aizen and being immediately cut by Tousen is really nice.

Barragan seems to die next week xD

Also did the ending just gave us spoilers? Like Inoe appearing and all of them being on the town, alive xD, and well? Lol.

I liked it tough.

Anyway, flashback aside, this episode is fantastic. The naruto anime team could learn a lot from this.

but, honestly, im fine with how shippuden is right now in the anime. not too slow, but not too fast. and the last few episodes have been pretty good, so im hoping the rest of the arc is done well, too.

Actually, i think Baraggan dies in 2 episodes. Not sure if you read the manga, but

he dies in 4 more chapters. The next episode seems to only do 2, ending with Soi Fon's Bankai.

Plus, the title of the episode after next is called "Baraggan's Grudge" or something. So... yeah.

And, no the only spoilers in the ending are the Visored's and Kyoraku's Shikai's. Ichigo's friends haven't returned to Karakura yet in the manga.

lol, it sucks for us the fans either way:

1) when the anime & manga are running side by side, the anime gets loaded with filler, boriing stalling, unnecessary flashbacks, non-canon elements added, whole filler arc interruption, etc

2) when a finished manga gets animated, it's usually rushed, details/dialogue/sub-plots skipped (eg: FMA Brotherhood/Inuyasha Final Act)

How right you are.Theres hardly any winning in manga adaptations..but honestly I prefer Brotherhoods way to about 10 minutes of straight flashbacks.

can't wait for the Starrk Vs. Rose and Love battle, gonna be awesome. the gillian battle was good, didn't see anything really wrong with it, i mean it is an "adaptation" of the manga, so yeah, it's gonna be different, especially since it's being "animated" and not "drawn".

Besides the ridiculously long flashback I found this a pretty good episode. My favourite part was probably the short but sweet Shinji vs. Tousen, it was just really nicely animated.
The new ending was pretty nice, too (or at least a whole lot better than the previous one, but that's hardly a feat) - the shot of Komamura and Hisagi was especially awesome, can't wait for a creditless version of it.

ETA: Oh yeah, almost forgot - I usually don't find the omakes particularly funny, but I have to admit I laughed out loud at this episode's. Shinji's tears!
