Those... Balkan used Take Over magic, the same Elfman, Lisanna and Mirajane use. Though the application is different, the concept itself is the same.

If Mystogan's plan succeeds, I suppose no more magic could be used in Edoras, since there would be no magic in nature, or whatever it is you want to call it. If so, Doroma Animu probably won't be able to... do that magic output thingy. Not to mention that, theoretically, no one should be able to use magic in Edoras anymore. Be it with magic instruments or natural, as Earthland mages do. Maybe the Exballs still work, or something.

Though, if magic doesn't work, how the hell is he planning on returning Natsu, Gray, Erza, Lucy, Wendy, Gazille and their cats to Earthalnd?

Obviously there is much we don't understand about how "magic" works in this universe (In fact, I suspect not even Mashima has thought about it), so there is no point in wondering about it, really.

Well we can extrapolate 2 things.

1-at first nor Happy nor Charle was able to fly, yet lateron they were and even further down the road ther abilitys power increased.
2-humans couldnt use magic but when presented with them pills they could

Well i theorize that magic more or less works the same in both realms Edoras and Earthland. However the method of collecting magic drains all magic to 1 point and the king uses it for his benifit (1 by arming his army + knights with magical weapons 2 by creating his fantasy themepark to make the people happy and deluding them as if hes the good guy).
The main problem would be that Exceed are somehow imune to this collecting system and those pills negate the effect, now the Earthland mages can use magic.

The reason why the king does this? Well 1 he wants power 2 use it to destroy the exceed, he needed a huge amount to blast their kingdom away so much that his own subjects dont even have enough, yet the combined power of Natsu and Wendy (that he drained) is enough.

Ofc he already used up a lot of magic energy from his subjects for the weapons they use i guess. And the anima he used to gather the citizens of earthland he needed to fuel his themepark + weapon.

Raises another question...how did they know there is another world out there? Yet there was no such info on Earthland? Zeref perhaps?

Oh, question though. Mangastream's translation says "they can take it in." Are we to assume that Mist Gun is sending what is left of Edoras' magic to Earth? Does that mean the Earthland Fairy Tail mages will gain an increase in power?

The only Magic the Exceed can use is to fly, it's probably their own special ability since we've seen that different kinds of "races" have different kinds of abilities.

True but those abilities are just magic. Obviously the technique is different but the magic part should be pretty much the same for everyone...

Is anybody else bothered by the fact that it seems like every single battle that Erza's in, she loses one of her "strongest" armors? Shouldn't she have run out by now?

I imagine alot of her money goes into buying spare/replacement sets. Her Heaven's Wheel Armor has been destroyed like three times. Now the question is if the Armadura Fairy armor was only second-strongest before she lost the Purgatory Armor, or if she acquired it specifically to replace the Purgatory Armor.

Well it seems obvious Erza needs to make all her armor out of whatever her undies are made of, cuz that stuff is always intact no matter how destroyed her armor gets. >: (

True but those abilities are just magic. Obviously the technique is different but the magic part should be pretty much the same for everyone...

The point is, the exceed until now have only shown to be able to use Wind Magic, the Balkan used Take Over magic, what I'm saying is that different races have different types of magic. And from what we've seen until now, each race can only use one type of magic. Excluding the CS which have their own individual magic, much like humans.

Regarding Gérard's plan, if he is able to do it, then Natsu Wendy and Gazzile have the battle completely won, not that they wouldn't have it anyway.

The reason I think that Edoras people can't use Magic is only because of Doruma Animu and all the Lachrima around the place and all the lets give moar power to the military and the theme park and the Anima. All those things are related to the lack of magic on Edoras. Gérard probably knows this so he will try and do something about it. Taking away Magic from Edoras means that they will be normal humans, like us, real people.

In Earthland there are many people who cant use magic as well. The story revolves around magic and mage guilds but it's been told that not everyone in the world posses magic and some people are merchants or warriors or whatever.

I dont get Edo-Erza's point. They've been stealing all the magic from the people outside the capital and they are still alive out there... why did she think they would die without magic? It's not even part of them like in Eartland but just tools and weapons.
Anyway my hope of her coming to Earthland and becoming a reccuring villain just died
