I've been listening/watching Kiki's delivery service song on YT. And the anime style reminded me some of Anime's greatest works back during its golden age. Just seeing that animation style really makes me go all nostalgic.... But enough of that. So, I was wondering, what's the anime that makes you go nostalgic??? or animes that you grew up with as a child???
Mine is Escaflowne & Gundam Wing

I used to watch the whole series of anime that AXN used to broadcast for like 2 hours a day (it was like half an hour at first but I guess they realised the demand was pretty big and upped the time haha). That was when I was 6 or so, until I was maybe 10 and AXN decided to switch from subs to dubs and I turned to the internet instead XD
Just off the top of my head...
Flame of Recca
You're Under Arrest
Cooking Master Boy
Ayashi no Ceres
Ghost in the Shell
Now and Then, Here and There
Hearing the OP/EDs of the more notable ones (Slam Dunk, Rurouni Kenshin...) always make me nostalgic...

Nice thread, Newkerzy!
Here’s my list:
I grew up watching the following anime series, so whenever I re-watch an episode of them I always get very nostalgic.
Maya the Bee
Hana no Ko Lunlun
Don Quixote: Tales of La Mancha
Goal Field Hunter
Samurai Pizza Cats
The series above are the ones I remember at the moment, if I remember another one I’ll add it to the list.
I didn't grow up with many anime shows, but I can certainly remember Sailor Moon, and the western version of Saber Riders...huge nostalgic feeling whenever I decided to listen to their opening/ending themes, along with the characters
Also another nostalgic feeling is when I rewatch the first and second seasons of Naruto
these were on tv / beta video
- Akakage (indonesian: ninja si bayang merah)
- Getter Robo
- Dragon Ball + DB Master
- Saint Seiya
- Sailor Moon
- Magic Girl
- Time Quest (forgot the japanese title ATM)
- Tobe! Isami
Most Nostalgic? gotta be Patlabor.... (really love that ending song "midnight blue")
Yu Yu Hakusho
and whatever else used to air on Cartoon Network's Toonami in the early 2000s. Those are pretty much all the shows I got into while in middle school, which is when I started watching anime.
I also remember watching Samurai Pizza Cats and Sailor Moon when I was a young, young child.
Saint Seya on TV (in Brazil) on 1994 followed by Shurato and Magic Knights of Rayearth.
Later, I got attached to Yu Yu Hakusho. I loved Kurama.
The most nostalgic is without a doubt Alfred J. Kwak.
Dutch-Japanese anime I grew up with.
I've been regularly keeping up with Detective Conan since 2004 so you can say that I'm still growing up with it. (I know I should be reading the manga by now, but I've always stuck with the anime.)
My grandmother records the show and sends the DVDs (previously VHS) from Japan so there's also a sentimental aspect to it as well.
Probably Astro Boy, since hat Anime made such a huge impact on introducing me to the Manga or Anime world. Another Animes that make me feel nostalgic: Saint Seiya, and Sailor Moon. My sister is a huge fan of Sailor Moon, so I watched the anime with her, even though I'm a male.
Basically everyone in the US is the same because of Toonami, but shows that stood out for me and give me nostalgia would be Yu Yu hakusho, Gundam Wing, Trigun, and Dragon ball Z. Honestly if I never watched DBZ when I was a kid I would pretty much hate it if I watched it now.
Anime wasn't really licensed in the US when I was growing up. Even Nausicaa was heavily edited and altered for it's initial US release. Most of my earliest anime memories were like that. I did not even know Robotech (heavily edited Macross), Vultron, and Speed Racer (dialog didn't match the original) were anime until many years later. The first unedited anime I ever saw were Akira, Vampire Hunter D, and Ghost in the Shell. Those are the anime I have the fondest memories of.
Dragonball / Z
Wedding Peach (Don't judge me )
Doremi (Again... Don't judge me )
