To be honest if Guy was their he would of raped 4 out of the 6 bodies. Hell was owned by Konohamuru a genin so Guy would of beat him into a pulp. Human uses taijutsu and can suck souls but Guy would never get his head grabbed and would own him pretty much too. Fat pain absorbs ninjutsu so obviously the same thing would happen to him that happened to Kisame. He gets oneshotted. Asura would be a challenge but i'm sure if Gai opened the gates he would of completely destroyed asura's metal body.

The only two bodies that would own gai are animal and god realm as their just bad matchups but the other four get obliterated rather quickly especially if it's one on one. Also those saying that just bc Kishi made Guy and lee stay out of Naruto's way are completely confused about what was meant back at that part of the story. For plot reason Naruto needed to beat pain by himself especially after all of the victories Sasuke had at that point in time. If you think two ninja's who can open gates that gives them the power to surpass a kage and a genious with a byakugan couldn't have helped Naruto at that point in the fight I don't know what to tell you as Naruto beat Pain with a regular rasengan.

Gai can't control the engagement against the Pain paths: Animal realm could summon the paths to where he wants, and plus, he could always revive the path that is down.

Lastly, Gai can't use Noon Tiger on Konoha since it would destroy and possible injure citizens and/or ninjas.

Gai's presence would slow down Pain's invasion, but he would be taken down at some point.

Also Naruto beat Pain with a regural Rasegan because he could withstand a ST, which Gai and Lee and Neji can't.

If Gai would have entered the fight to help Naruto after the big Shinra Tensei Pain would have gotten his dick kicked in terribly.

Gai proved that in terms of raw power, there are few if any ninja who can stand up to him. Kisame, who is one of the strongest ninja in the entire manga got his strongest ninjutsu destroyed and got knocked out while facing Guy's Noon Tiger.

All this talk about Pain defeating Gai by seeing him and ST himing and summoning summons is also a load of bull.

For one, Gai is faster than Pain when he opens the gates. And as we have seen Speed is usually the biggest factor when it comes to fighting in this manga. Gai would zoom around and Pain wouldn't do anything because he can't keep up with him.

If he had been present before the big ST, it's very likely he and Kakashi would have train wrecked Deva and Asura if he was with Kakashi. No way in the Hell the two of them could defeat the strongest Jounin of Konoha.

Seriously, people are underrating Gai like hes some kind of fodder.

As for Gai fucking up Konoha, he doesn't need to use his high powered moves while opening his gates. Speed blitz and insane taijutsu kick/punch would be all he would need to take out a Pain body.

I agree that Gai would defeat Pain with the help of Naruto, but I disagree that he would stop the invasion in progress: even if Gai helped Kakashi defeat Deva and Asura, Animal would summon then and Hell and revive them until they are defeated.

Also, Gai has nothing against ST, especially if he blown the fuck away from Konoha, and can't do shit against the dog and if Animal realm hides in the chameleon.

If anyone of Tsunade, Kakashi or Gai were there after Pain used his super shinra tensei he would have gotten completely owned... Thats why Kakashi had to face full powered Deva, Tsunade sacrificed herself for the village and Gai wasn't there. Konoha's top 4 or 5 Ninja's are extremely powerful, even Yamato was outside of the village.

Edit: Also we know little about Nagato and the power of the 7th Pain.. It might have still been pointless.

Gai can beat ST with sheer force, thats what both the 6 tails Kyuubi did along with Naruto and his clones. Or, he could just move so fast that Deva can't hit him which is the more likely option.

And I'm not saying Gai can defeat Pain alone, but if he was there for the invasion thigns would have never escalated to the point they did. Kakashi wouldn't have died, and if Kakashi still had some left in the tank by the time Naruto arrived the three of them would have obliterated Pain as long as Naruto wasn't being a stubborn ass. Seriously, Gai should have just stepped in and Naruto would have never transformed into the fox.

If Gai was there, one more body of Pein would had been defeated before Pein decide to drop the nuke.

Pain can use a 360 ST, so he doesn't need to see him, and while Gai is very strong, I don't think he can be compared to 6 tailed Kyuubi xD but I might be wrong.

Also, Nagato was quite persistant into killing Kakashi, so there's no way of telling if he would use the big shinra tensei before kiling them, and the big blast could injure them like it did on shikamaru.

I think the invasion would have escalated just as it did, only slower because Pain can easily revive the paths as long animal and hell are alive.

Also, I doubt Gai can use the gates twice without side effects on the second time.

One more thing: there's no way of knowing that Gai would help Kakashi with Pain, he could be trying to help protect Inoichi, or end up with fat pain since it's weak to taijutsu, and Kakashi would've died anyways, there are lots of ways the situation could've enfolded, and Pain had multiple tries to defeat them, while Gai and the rest of Konoha didn't.

Gai might've not been near Katsuyu and be owned by the big shinra Tensei, use the 8th gate when the situation was dire just for Pain to revive his paths, IMO it wouldn't make a very big difference, but a decent amount.

Imo kakashi and Guy together would have wiped the floor with each pain 1 by 1.

More likely, animal realm would summon all the bodies and they fight together if one of them runs into too much trouble.

Gai could knock down one Pain with the Noon Tiger, but he was tired after it. Can he use it twice? The fact that Pain can just regain his lost bodies means he doesn't need to protect all his bodies and push Gai to use his Noon Tiger.

gai alone doesnt mean a lot to me in most cases but if he were on kakashi's side , i believe deva and demon realms would have been destroyed

kakashi+gai together -> kage level
(not to forget they have been fighting side by side since forever)
