Ok i want to start by saying i have been reading manga helpers forums for about 2 years today before i decided to take the plunge and register.. whew with that said, i am a DIE HARD one piece fan, no other anime has the story, characters, drama, and closure that Oda provided when he drafted this manga! I am also a huge car enthuasist (sp? <-) and just got my car painted a very pristine magnetic black. My car is a 97 Nissan 240sx with a Skyline motor swap (Rb25 for the car literate). I literally save the hood of my car to be the canvas for a masterpeice i unfortunately do not have the skill to complete my self. This is where mangahelpers comes in at! I am looking for a visionary artist to design something that can be made out of vinyl stickers ( it can be layered if there is to be color). Literally it can be anything, i played around with a few things, and i was thinking of Luffy in the front smiling waving on a diagnol, and the straw hats jolly roger behind them, with chibi versions of the strawhats on the borders. But the possibilities are limitless !
here is a pic of a similar car to mine, while i get the real pic up, i will obvoiusly credit the artist with his name on my hood, and even send people his direction if he is interested!!
Nice car dude. Rb25 is a great option. If I was in your position I would try and save more and opt for a RB30 single turbo set up.
You're only going to colour the hood with an OP design, right? Are you going to keep the black paint on the rest of the car or do you plan on adding another colour to it as well?
As for the hood idea - IMHO I would centre the whole design around Robin and her Hana Hana no Mi. The blooming flowers could be scattered all over the hood and slowing cascading across both sides towards the front doors of your car.
If you want something beastie and mean, then I would say focus on Monkey D. Luffy. Use a really good base design/picture of Luffy and work with a visual artist from the ground up, so you can create something unique that no one else has on their whip. ^___^
Is this going to be a contest/showcase car or just for casual use only?
House of Kolor paints?
As for getting in contact with a visual artist, your best bet is to go and search or ask on a car-related forum site that specialises in the "body arts" area. Really good, professional artists don't just stick to one theme or form when it comes to car body art.
