he had said in previous interviews that he liked baseball
Baseball...I'll pass on this. Its cool that he's into sports though.
That blond kid's hair is pretty rad, but the stick-on nose look is kinda weird.
Is a six chapter manga?
i already know the plot.
that fat kid
narutois teased by everyone because he's fat. and the skinny kid sauskeis teased because of his ridiculous hair. but the fat kid ans skinny kid hate each other but have an underlining respect for one another. they both try out for the baseball team( and make it), there they meet a blue haired girl named sora sakura.the fat kid likes .sora, and sora like the skinny kid... their coach kakashikakkoi teaches the fat/skinny kid team work. and the win a few matches but then a rival coach orochimarulures the skinny kid away with the promiss of trophy's and beating his older brother's, waruiyoi itachi, bating average. who in the senior baseball class. and the next 400 chapters are of the fat kid trying to win back the skinny kid.
I'm very excited, this is a new work by masashi kishimoto, author of naruto, the most popular manga in the world right now. If you have any respect for the manga world then you should be looking forward to this.
I remember reading somewhere that Kishimoto wanted to make a Baseball manga to do as a series before, but he wasn't good enough at the time for it to get any notice, looks like he is finally gonna be living his dream.
is a one shot if its good enough ill get published in around 1year if its good enough i dont want any manga replacing psyren
Nonetheless, Naruto's #2 if you're only considering series that are still being published, and I'm looking forward to this even if I have absolutely no interest in baseball. I just hope it isn't too generic :/ Sports manga haven't been doing too great in Jump as of late but I think this will do decently if not very well in the rankings by virtue of the fact that it's done by Kishimoto-sensei, if nothing else...
Then again, while it is/was his dream to do a baseball manga, I think he's capable of better, something more different. I'm not saying it can't be great too, like how Slam Dunk made ordinary, realistic basketball amazing. But imo baseball might be limiting in some senses as after all, there are only so many ways you can hit a ball, but an almost infinite array of variations to ninjutsu (and taijutsu and genjutsu for that matter), for example. So even if this does well, I kinda hope his next manga after Naruto ends isn't a baseball manga :/ ... Or I should just wait and read Bench first and see how it goes X)
While I'm very interested in reading this, I'd rather Kishimoto do a one-shot of the mafia/yakuza manga he said he'd like to work on after Naruto. There's a drawing of said manga in one of the early Naruto volumes.
I don't really get the whole fascination with baseball for mangakas. Is it really all that popular of a sport in Japan? Even if it is, you can only do the same thing so many times before it gets old.
Id like to see a rarer sport done. Ping pong, lacrosse, hockey, rugby, exc. Maybe thats just me.
According to a survey in Japan by the Central Research Services:
But I agree, it would be more interesting to see a manga about another, rarer sport. People would still read it even if they had no interest in the sport, as long as the story itself is engaging. Look at the number of people who read Slam Dunk (the basketball wave followed after)!Quote:
