Nice episode. They're following the manga closely, which is a good thing. And even though I know the jokes already, they're still funny

I wonder why they keep using Bleach on the JumpJack covers and showing Bleach tankoubon. I know it was the same way in the manga but just saying. When Saishuu actually discuss manga I don't really remember them praising Bleach, only mentioning it as one of the best-selling in JumpJack, whereas there was praise for One Piece and iirc Naruto as well.

Can't wait to see more of Eiji. And Hattori next week ^^

I think that was just poor editing. In the manga we see her bolt for Azuki as soon as they spot the boys and Azuki enters, the anime switches it Mashiro and Takagi at the time Kaya bolts over to the next classroom and we don't see it. We don't get a sense of movement from her so it looks like she enters the same door as Azuki.

Now I know why Ohba/Obata go with JC staff. Their Kaichou wa Maid-sama is great. They deliver those humor scenes so well.

I loved that episode!
Especially the part about the manga, i never thought they would draw the one-shot, thats totally amazing! And to think that the other manga will get scenes like that too, i can't wait! (of course, the next episode is relationship drama again-.-)

I think the pace is ok: 3 episodes for 4-5 manga chapters . They also cover blank manga portions. I really wanna see if in the later episodes they'll use serious design chars or the manga ones.

Gah, reformatting my notebook has pushed my weekly dose of Bakuman anime back. D: Need to catch up from Episode 2.

Dunno if it's been posted, but I'm guessing the anime will conclude when Detective Trap gets serialized. Which I think is good, as long as they get a season 2 underway.

Knifeshade, you might wanna put that last para under a spoiler tag so non-manga-readers won't be spoiled about which of their subsequent works is going to actually get serialised

Anyway, about ep 7. It felt more like watching a shoujo anime than a shounen. This one focused more on the Saikou-Azuki relationship. I thought the pacing was kinda weird in this episode. They fit the whole chapter 9 in here o.o

And then there was Eiji He's awesome, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of him His voice was pretty much what I imagined it to be, too.

Greek scene in the preview was like, wut?! I don't remember it from the manga, but that could just be my memory blocking it out...

all this romance seems even more boring in the anime than it was in the manga

I disagree. The way the anime is handling the romance is better than the way the manga did. It's not good though. But they are trying to develop Miho more, when they put this scenes with her in th voice acting class, or at the subway, or talking with Kaya on the phone and goes on.

It's not a normal romance, and not a really interesting one, but it's better constructed in the anime than it is in the manga.

I agree it's good that they're trying to develop Azuki more in the anime and expound more on the Azuki-Saikou relationship, but somehow I think it would not sit well with fans of the shounen genre. Personally I like that they are doing this (developing Azuki and their relationship more), but it would be better perhaps to not have one episode almost solely dedicated to it... Bakuman manga as it is at times borders on being rather un-shounen, but it is a lot more so in the anime in episodes like this. For people watching Bakuman for hot-blooded manga drawing, I can see why they would be disappointed (at least until Eiji shows up at the end).
