Pufu vs. Reiza



Alright! After a bit of a late start, here's the first battle of the HxH tournament!

I vote Pufu. One of the best strategists of the ant king royal guard and with a lot of energy it would be no problem for him to beat up reiza. I say that since the power reiza showed was to create those nen guys to help him.

I think puffu wins.... The ants so far have had unfathomable amounts of raw power. I also do not think reiza's particular techniques would significantly hurt puffu. I don't think he can destroy enough of puffu's minuscule little pieces to cause enough damage. There are also the mind controlling spores to consider.

Reiza is amazing when it comes to shear raw power, but his skills have no particular use against Pufu. I don't think he could just destroy enough of the little Pufus to cause serioes damage. And ants are physically strong too, so even if Reiza manages to get a lucky clean hit, Pufu could probaply take it, and be wary to not take another one.

ugh so disappointed reiza had to be matched up against pufu right at the beginning. reiza is one of my fav characters but i think, like the others here, pufu will take the cake. hes one of the more logical characters in the series and a pretty good tactician. honestly we haven't seen much from reiza other than his immense nen power with that ball but pufu has more going for him. reiza :'(

I'd have to vote for Pufu. Along with Mereum, the Royal Guards have more rawpower than anyone else we've seen thus far in the manga. Even a Nen-user of Netero's calibur would have trouble with just any of the Royal Gards alone, and there's no evidence indicating that Reiza is beyond that level. Furthermore, I doubt Reiza is the superior tactician. Pufu is both intelligent and has an ability that gives him insight into what his opponent is thinking.

It's not about power, otherwise Meruem has already won...
It's about how you feel the character, what you think of his personnality, techniques, charism, etc. We don't care if Lazer would be able to win against Pufu.

I voted for him, because I really liked what has been shown on him during the dodgeball match and when he kicks the Fantom Squad out of GI. Moreover, I don't like Pufu, his hypocrisy, his violin, his attitude, his thoughts, ... Really the Royal Gard I like the less.

Genthru vs. Hisoka



Get ready for battle #2! Thanks to Ustegius, who provided the art for Hisoka.

Genthru Leader of the Bomb Devil trio. He has two main nen abilities that he used. The first one is called Little Flower which allows him to create a small explosion in his hands using his aura. The second power is called Countdown. This allows him to place a bomb on his victim just by touching them once and the countdown to its detonation begins when he explains his power to them. It can be nullified if he says "I release" of if the victim touches him and says "I caught the bomber."

Hisoka A nen-user who first appeared during the hunter exam. He was disqualified form his first hunter exam for killing the examiner. He is very powerful and has two main nen abilities: texture surprise, which allows him to apply his aura to any thin surface and change its appearance, and bungee gum, in which Hisoka can alter his aura to become very sticky and flexible allowing him to pull his opponents closer to him. Bungee gum cannot be seen unless the opponent is using gyo.

well. where takes the fight place? :P does pufu search reiza for eliminating? in GI then he looses, but to be realistic yes, pufu should win

hisoka, cause he dont care about his arms and legs, genthru wouldnt also have an easy time to catch him

Both Genthru and Hisoka were immensely stronger than Gon when they fought him. It was pointed out, however, that Genthru's ability loses effectiveness with intel. It's different with Hisoka. The only way to avoid Bungee Gum is to evade Hisoka's attacks at all costs, and I'm not at all convinced Genthru could do it. Powerscaling also places Hisoka at a higher-level. Hisoka is an end-game opponent for Gon while Genthru is not.

I'm backing Hisoka in this fight.

Hisoka, far more experienced than genthru. He fought in real world while Genthru was stucked in the game. And he was as strong as to be a Hiodan member. He is sure stronger and will win the fight.

IMO hisaka is far more skilled than genthru. Both of them have been immensely stronger than gon when they fought him however I do think the manga leans towards hisoka in general. If I recall, gon could not really match up against genthru however he did kinda held his ground. Later on Gin had his second training with Bisk and by the end of it he and killua were stated to have the nen level of a mid level hunter. At that point I think Gon at least has the basic physical capacity he would need to match genthru in a fight. On the other hand hisoka in without a shred of doubt a top level nen user. He was kinda feared and respected even in the ryodan and by the hunter examination instructors. IMO this would not be an exceptionally difficult fight for hisoka. The only danger he would be in is to let genthru put a bomb on him while trying to fuck with his mind. Then again, would it be out of the realm of possibilities for hisoka to protect himself from the explosions with his own nen? genthru uses his own nen to protect himself from his explosion (the one where an explosion comes off his hand or something) so for someone like hisoka it should not be hand to react. The one where the bomb is planted should have no defense in case it does go off. I go for hisoka having a reasonably easy fight here.

Power does take a part though. Nen fights are indeed not decided by raw power for the most part but rather how you manage your own abilities against that of the enemy but sufficient power can indeed change that.

Lets take bisks chart here. In terms of raw power reiza (even though he seems to have enough to hurt even hisoka) would be a D while in comparison pufu would be an A in top condition or above. If I recall, yupi at his best was stimated to have 10 times the nen of murau, one of the most skilled and powerful nen users the manga has bothered to show. In terms of speed, strength and defense there would be too much of a difference. If reiza had a less straightforwards technique with more special properties he could manage something however that is far from the case.

I didn't think of this manga in a long time. It's a shame: HxH didn't deseve such fate. it has the potential to become the greatest manga of all time & it was ruined by an irregular schedule.

For the fight Hisoka vs Genthru:
It's a no contest: Hisoka is that much better. Genthru is an excellent fighter but Hisoka is among the top. Genthru's abilities are not very versatile if you ask me. Hisoka can get away of most situations with something as versatile as pansy gum.
