It was a solid series opener. It sets a really nice tone, and it established an interesting main cast. A lot of things are still very confusing, however. Thankfully we got the spoiler summary that describes what the series will be about.
Really like the concept the story given in the summary, I'll give it a read soon.
I know clamp is good, trc is all I've read by them but this looks promising.
Isn't that a summary for the proto-type of Gate 7, which it planned to release at Dark Horse?
I read the one shot, and it was very different from the summary.
You're correct, so I went ahead and typed my own.
I wish the beginning was longer but it leaves us wanting more and lots of mysteries to be solved.

Can't wait to read Gate 7. It's good Clamp would release this as one-shot first so that readers would have a glimpse of what will this new series would be all about.
Hopefully this would be a good one like those previous releases from Clamp.
With the first official chapter coming I finally got around to reading the one shot. Not much to say about the plot, almost nothing was revealed. The characters look interesting, at least. The art was spectacular, every bit as amazing as Tsubasa and xxxholic. While there wasn't much to take away from the prologue, I will definitely read the serialization.
i read it too it's interesting
and the first chapter is also scanned in chinese
the raw is out on raw-bunko too
Yay, new CLAMP series. I know it's going to be good since I have no clue what's going on. The other series started like that for me too.
Frankly though, I'm hoping for a bit more connectedness with the rest of the CLAMP multiverse. It's way too subtle in Kobato, though I understand heavier allusions are only possible due plot points that surround Clow or Yuuko and anything less would be basically fan service like the fillers in the Kobato anime.
Gate 7 chap 1 by cxc
I always love CLAMP's art, so this was a treat to the eyes as always I've read both the One-shot and Chapter 1, was hoping that since the one-shot revealed practically nothing, the first chapter might take care of some of that (since it appears the one-shot is more like a prologue than anything else)... But the first chapter was equally uninformative. That was a little disappointing imo.
I agree with Shukketsumaru that some CLAMP crossovers would be nice But in that case I better get off my lazy ass and actually finish/catch up with Kobato, TRC and Holic
nice one by clamp. the pain of unfinised X still burns inside me though....
Another series by CLAMP ( ´▽｀)
looking forward to it~
We can only hope Gate 7 either is as good as X/1999 or better still, incorporates some of its characters :3 Since it does deal with all these priestess kinda people in a modern Japanese context, it wouldn't be weird at all to have characters such as Arashi, Sorata, Subaru etc making an appearance! (we can hope...)
Now that XXXHOLiC is over hopefully CLAMP goes back to work on X/1999 though, that would really be the best case scenario! It's nice that they are working on a new project, but doing so at the expense of an old project would be sad.
