    Yes Gantz does have Romance in it. Being a Seinen there are some "sex /nude scenes" here and there. I forget where the "actual" romance part starts from, but its there.

The only part that I don't like on the Meteor Garden was the season 2 because I think the story was prolonged/outstretched too much.

    Yup their good for me, i guess although its the same Yankumi-sensei you'll see but with different students (still all-boys school though ) in different seasons.
    I've heard there's also a movie but I wasn't able to watch it yet, probably if I had my free time next week.

    Thank you for answering my question! I read that the manga is way better than the anime, but tbh, I don’t know if I’ll read the manga. However, now that I know there is romance in Gantz, I’ll write Gantz in my must-watch J-dramas/movies list.

    Thank you for answering my question, Sakura-chan. Mmmm…if it’s the same story but with different students; then I guess I can't wait a bit more before watching the other seasons. Btw, I have been watching Yankee-kun to Megane-chan and some elements from the series definitely remind me of Gokusen (the first season). I’m enjoying watching Yankee-kun to Megane-chan just as much I enjoyed watching Gokusen.

    And I agree with you about MG season 2, I just watched the first two episodes (iirc) but I was able to rapidly tell it wasn't going to be as good as the first season so I stopped watching it.

    Now regarding BOF, being such a big HYD fan I also watched the Korean version. I think I watched the first 4 or five eps, but I just couldn’t overlook how horrible was the acting of the girl portraying Makino. I didn’t like her acting or her way of portraying Makino at all. However, I did like the girl portraying Makino’s best friend. I think out of the three (MG, HYD and BOF), she was the best Yuki-chan.

    I had tried to watch the first few episodes of the live-action of Yankee-kun to Megane-chan and I agree that it's Gokusen-like since its settings are school-life of high school students. Though I stopped watching around episode 4, i think, because somehow it kind of dissappointed me that they didn't include some of the good scenes from the manga.
    Although i like the funny scenes in the YtM j-drama.

    I agree that the girl portraying Makino's best friend in BOF fits her role perfectly.
    Among the 3 adaptations, i guess my favorite would be meteor garden, second would be HYD, then lastly BOF.

    And that is why I decided to watch the J-drama before giving the manga a try. I know how disappointing it can be when they change or omit stuff from the canon material. But you know, dramas, especially Japanese dramas, tend to do that. I guess it is understandable since they can’t replicate every moment from the manga in a J-drama, it is easier when you adapt the manga into an nime. And maybe I’m wrong, but judging by the dramas I’ve watched, I think the most faithful to the canon material (manga) are the Taiwanese ones.

    For me…it is a tie between MG and HYD. MG because it was the first one out of the 3 I watched and iirc it was my first Asian drama. Plus, it is the most faithful to the manga. ^_^ But I also like HYD very much, the acting, the music, the touching and funny moments, I like everything about it. So I can’t decide which one I like the best. I like them both a lot!

    HAHA my mind shall now respond. I loved her too~ I just wanted to hug her every time she appeared. She was so cute! Well the whole show is really cute and heartwarming and I loved the interactions between Aiba (I forgot the character's name so using the actor's name) and the girl! She's very talented. I think she could grow up to be a big star in the future

    I havent seen Full House I believe, and I avoided Coffee Prince. However Mars I love. I have seen a couple other ones with the male lead from Mars but the titles escape me. I would have to say that Vic is one of my fav Taiwan actors. I'm not a huge drama fan, so I dont really know or remember anyones names. I just googled him for the link.

    Secret Garden is amazing!! Great acting, great story, great OST, one of the best K-dramas of 2010. I enjoyed watching it very much. I also learned a couple of things while watching it like why we girls shouldn’t believe when a guy tells us he fell for us at first sight , and the real ending of the Little Mermaid , Disney truly deceived me.

    Secret Garden is an absolutely brilliant drama and I really recommend it to all K-drama fans. And to you Charlie for watching it.


    I’m currently watching “Full House”, another cute, fun and sweet K-drama. But I’m curious about the drama you’re watching, what is “can you hear my heart” about?
