I've just realized that Kabuto's mentioned Shikkotsu Forest (Slug Sage) along with Mount Myoboku (Toad Sage) and Rychi Cave (Snake Sage) as three legendary places.

I've a strong feeling that Sakura would eventually master slug sage mode. I don't know if Tsunade has already mastered it yet, but she seems to be the only one who has made the contract with slug so far, so she might at least knew where Shikkotsu Forest is.

Also, Sasuke hasn't mastered snake sage mode yet, and Orochimaru's just come back again, so it's highly possible that Sasuke would also master snake sage mode soon.

Well, I might be an optimist, but it's obvious that Kishimoto sensei loves this Japanese legends. I don't think that he'd just let them go into dust.

And Kishimoto sensei's introduced Toka Senju (means 'peach flower'), a well-known throughout the world of her prowess genjutsu ability. Hmm...I believe that he intended to introduce her for some reasons...and one of them could be that Sakura would eventually learn her genjutsu!

BTW - Did you guys notice the hint of "the end" this last page?

It really fits when Hiroshi Matsuyama san (the director who develops Naruto's games) (accidently) said that Naruto Ninja Storm 3 (involving the whole war arc) won't come out until Naruto series's done. Then a few weeks later, they announced that Naruto Ninja Storm 3 will come out in Spring 2013! (after that Hiroshi san seemed to keep his mouth tight during any interviews. LOL) And then, Kishimoto sensei said that he doesn't really know how long Naruto would continue, but it seems to last longer than 1.5 years.

I see people tend to look at the 1.5 years sentence, but Kishimoto sensei doesn't really know how long the story would continue exactly, so it could continue even longer than that, especially when 3 years have past, but Kakashi's year hasn't happened yet. And I think 2 years are too little to reveal things and wrap everything up IMO.

So, I believe that this war arc is the last arc of Part I and it would end around chapter 614-615, then starts with Minato's Gaiden for 5-6 chapters before we see Naruto Part 3, as early as the beginning of next year!

Well, a lot of people think that Naruto has nothing left to write, but I could imagine of many possibilities/plots, and so could Kishimoto sensei. It's a fantasy manga, almost everything is possible, and how many people would have thought that Orochimaru could come back?

However, I strongly hope that Kishimoto sensei could get his interesting story and characters development back like he did in Part I and early Part II! If he could, I wouldn't mind keep reading Naruto until it reached 20th anniversary LOL. (It's been 13 years now)

All I can do is keep hoping...=)

Great you noticed this. I don't think Sakura will learn it if Tsunade doesn't know it though. Tsunade should probably be the one who teaches Sakura how to do it and from there she could potentially surpass her(Like at the end of the series). Then again, is Sakura adequate enough to even learn such a technique?

I guess Tsunade might have mastered it already, maybe it's going to be her last trump card against Madara? Like when Jiraiya used it against Pain. =)

However, as Kabuto said and as we've seen from Naruto's training, it's all self-training with a guideline of Toad/Snake sage. So even if Tsunade sama died fighting against Madara, Sakura would still be able to master it. Sakura is also smarter than Naruto and she has a lot better chakra control, so it would be a cake walk for her IMO.

I think it's pretty obvious that Kishimoto has made Naruto to surpass Jiraiya, Sakura to surpass Tsunade, Sasuke to surpass Orochimaru. And the three sannin all have Toad, Slug, Snake like in Japanese legends. Don't you see how they parallel and how the story's heading? =)

Well, Sakura is a main character/heroine of the series despite she's been left out of the picture without any development for years...I believe that she's going to surpass Tsunade and became as strong as Naruto and Sasuke long before the series end. It's not because I'm her fan, but I think it would be pointless to just mentioned about her potentials and some hints of plot direction, then just left it in the epilogue. (I can imagine that people who don't believe that woman could be strong or hate Sakura wouldn't think it's pointless at all)

For me, Naruto series still has many things to write about and it wouldn't perfectly fit in just two years, this could explain why Kishimoto sensei himself doesn't really know how long the story will continue exactly. And this week chapter has shown us that it's in 'the climax of ninja world war', not the climax of the whole series like lots of people has been misunderstanding.

War is not always the end of everything like most people tend to see it, but it could be the beginning of many things. Post-war could be even more interesting than the war/fighting itself IMO. And I believe that Kishimoto sensei himself still wants to get Naruto back on track with his friends, missions, developments and more challenges like they were in Part I. I'd be more than happy to see them as Jonins going on missions and developed their skills in full-power, it's going to be their prime. Hmm come to think of it, it makes sense to see Part I=Genin, Part II=Chunin, Part III-Jonin.

Most of all, I can't see Naruto become the next Hokage soon, being a Hokage is required more than heroic action or power, but experiences both in politic, responsibility, management, etc. As I've said, I think this war is the last arc of part II, it's very possible to see part III in the early of next year, this could mean there are more time to develop both Sakura and the Konoha 11, pluss Kakashi's year! =)

OK, I'm too obsessed with this and I think I need a break lol.

A montage is highly unlikely in Naruto, but a timeskip is something that definitely could happen.

We already know that the 4th Great War is not the last arc of this manga.
I could very well see a timeskip after this is over.

To be honest, I'm saying no to a timeskip. Everything so far in this arc has been leading up to the final battle and resolution of the series. Adding a timeskip (Part III) is just dragging things out. However, a timeskip in the middle of the war (the war is still continuing in the series for a couple of years), would be fine.

Id wish this war arc ended, something big happens or some continental invasion happens and that marks the start of Part 3

fact still remains cold - sakura is a completely useless character
i personally could not care what happens to her as she holds absolutely no power to make any changes to the story
giving sakura a powerup would barely make any logical sense, she just REFUSES to get better and even admits it

Yes, absolutely. In case you haven't been reading it, everything points to this arc being the final arc what with several major plot threads being resolved. The new one that popped up can definitely be done within this arc.

Kishimoto has supplanted her with Killer Bee. In terms of supporting character that's what's happening. It makes me want to set fire to something but it's true.

Well, I'm not that surprised either, but there was a tiny bit of hope left. It was so small I lost it several times, but it was always there. Guess that keeping it was for nothing, though....

How more relevant do you want her to be

...Joking, I lost hope for Kishi, he can't make good female characters.
Sakura will never be relevant, she will never be a good character anymore.
She will simply be Sasuke's baby factory in the epilogue, blowing away her potential as a medic and a ninja to be a good housewife that looks after the kids and lets Sasuke have a warm dinner when he comes home after doing ninja stuff.
