Well, I was wondering why there wasnt any mention about it or thread since it<s a newer manga and anime then slam dunk, anyway, ive started reading and watching it and the concept is pretty different from slam dunk even though its basketball, really futuristic and I thought it was pretty good, again, Inoue is just too good.
I didn't particularly like the anime. I generally prefer manga, but I didn't like the direction they took the anime in (How they changed it compared to the manga).
Although, the webcomic ending felt a bit rushed, but I thought it was a better off ending than where they left the anime at.
I tried to find the manga but couldnt so I just watched the anime, but if the manga is a bit different, i want to read it, would you know where I can get it?[br]Posted on: December 13, 2006, 02:59:12 PM_________________________________________________
@tmacthenumber1: try #lurk.
I love Buzzer Beater, I read it more than five times.
The anime isn't bad, but the webcomic/manga was incredible, wonderful; it was a pity that they didn't use the anime to continue the story of the manga.
i only saw the anime and thought that it was mediocre at best. Sadly, i couldnt really get into the series despite the fact that it is a Takehiko Inoue series. I guess i should try out the manga.
Whats that #lurk thing?
then click on English
then click on the side menu on the left side, the Buzzer Beater image.
You can view the Buzzer Beater webcomic from there. It IS a webcomic, so don't go in expecting a full fledged manga on the web.
The manga is very good.Originally Posted by NeoShweaty
Thanks a lot Someone, ill read that for sure.
Edit: Wooo! The manga is sick, the story is sooooo different, loved it, im awed, it was really, really good!
The anime is pretty weak, but the webmanga is MADE OF AWESOME.
It was like seeing a fresh Slam Dunk-Special with other characters.
Even if it´s a short story, you can feel Inoue´s epic style in that final game. DT(awesome character, BTW)´s final pass to Maru, and the way that 3-point-shoot is portrayed(with Maru giving an interview and all) were just GOLD.
Another fellow Inoue fan, which is always welcome in these parts. I guess now i have to get that manga
You can find it on #lurk and it is also online in english.Originally Posted by NeoShweaty

If anything, I suggest actually reading it online, and then just saving it that way if you want a backup.
I found getting it from lurk there was some file naming issues, so some of the comics were misplaced. Not many, but some, and sometimes it made things a bit weird.
I'd known only a little about this anime/manga....this is still like Slam Dunk, since they both are Inoue Takehiko's work..Buzzer Beater is also a basketball manga, but I think the difference is that the title's itself...
