I have read what is scanlated of Shinya Shokudou a few days ago and, even if there are just a few chapters, I really recommend it. It gave me a much better impression that Bartender which plot is kinda similar. Maybe it's because it is about ordinary dishes and you relate much more to the characters.

And this made me want to start Touch. I think I read the resume once but base ball theme didn't appeal me (I'm not that much into sport manga, even if I know some of them are great). But this one seems more slice of life and romance. Well the first chapters at least.
And I really like the 80's art. I miss it sometime.

I like Shinya a lot too. It is just as much about the people as it is about the food, focusing on how food brings people together.

You don't need to be a sports manga fan to enjoy Adachi. In Touch, H2, and Cross Game baseball is a metaphor for growing up with the story focusing on coming of age elements. The story telling and art is truly brilliant, Adachi characters can communicate with a glance what most manga need multiple panels to say.

First, he started to get close to the class president, Mukae Ritsuko, and, secondly, unlikely as it seemed, grew closer to Kawabuchi Sentaro. Sentaro was infamous for getting into fights, skipping class and was an overall bad boy.
