Anyways to back on the subject, Asuma doesn't deserve that though!! He's a very good man. In any case, let him live! And let him be alive with Kurani as an edo Tensi.
So I think I'm ready to give up completely on the concept of romance in Naruto's story.
It's pleasant to think back on all the fun I've had in this thread discussing various character dynamics, and the many different opinions we all had on them, and where we all thought they they would go, even if ultimately the relationships went nowhere; and that is exactly what they did.
I've come to believe the classic statement that "Kishimoto can't write romance" isn't entirely accurate, though not far from the truth. My conclusion is that the thing that he can't, or won't, write is actually the second stage (and beyond) of romantic relationships. He builds them up just fine initially, and just doesn't seem to have any clue where to go from there. He throws out scenes that seem like they hold the possibility of progressing and then just regresses back. Like a turtle peaking out of it's shell and then shrinking back inside, over and over again.
Just look at the what happened and what impact it had regarding recent relationship events.
Hinata confesses her love ----> Naruto shows no sign he even remembers it
Karin resolves to move on from Sasuke (after he stabs her) -----> She goes back to fangirling for no reason
Sakura decides it's time to stop allowing her feelings for Sasuke to paralyze her and burden Naruto -----> She goes back to burdening/fangirling
Hinata pretty much confesses her love again ----> Naruto implies to his dad that Sakura is his girlfriend like 10mins later.
etc, etc, etc. It was the illusion of progress. Naruto likes Sakura. Sakura likes Sasuke. Hinata likes Naruto. All of those things were true at the beginning of the series and they really haven't changed much, if at all. The sad thing is that some of those parts of the story relating to changes in those relationships were actually good but, because they were ultimately voided by the narrative, they have no ultimate meaning. They don't build to anything or lead to anything other than circling back on themselves. Giving those parts essentially the same value as filler.
With the way things have gone it doesn't even matter how the great Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke love triangle resolves. Sakura's not really going to form a believable relationship with either(because that would require progress), in the end she's probably just there so Naruto and Sasuke can avoid being gay thanks to the golden rule.

I'm sad that Kishi completely threw out romance when it would have added much needed complexity to the story. But I guess the complexity and maturity of the manga got killed when the war arc started in favor of appealing to kids and fan service.
this is more ironic than this .... Sasuke was in konoha and he didn't bother himself to goes and find Karin ....Quote:
any way , Naruto is a moron but Sasuke , he is like a married man who really love his wife and is really afraid of her , so he won't look at other women and girls ....

,The only fucking love affair I love in Naruto was that of Minato and Kushina.
,Kushina used to hate her hair, but Minato changed that attitude.
,It was that hair that let Minato saved Kushina, and their first ever romantic experience was witnessed by no one, but the MOON.
,which will be the main key to Mugen Tsukuyomi.

LOL yeah, super romantic, guise...
MINATO: I LIKE UR HAIR
KUSHINA: OH WOW! THE FIRST GUY WHO DOESN'T THINK I'M UGLY, TIME TO TRADE MY DREAMS FOR A DOWDY HOUSEWAIFU APRON!!
Truly the romance of the century.
Super romantic love story of all...
Minato and kushina
Super tragic love story of all....
Itachi and some random uchiha girl.
Minato killed/sacrificed himself for kushina's sake.
While itachi killed his lover for konoha's sake.
