well, the first was because I had to drink with my bro (get him intoxicated, at least) so that he could spill the beans on whatever was on his mind, as I was tasked by my mother to do so. -_-

the second (last night) was because I really couldn't deny my workmates' invitations any longer. Syempre, I'm the newb at work, at pakisama na din yun, and all the shite that come with knowing a bit about everybody in one drinking session.

Still, I regret it a bit, since I ended up talking too much and yelling at my boyfriend.

oh btw, ive been trying to make gravy out of the following:

1. cream of mushroom
2. garlic powder
3. pepper
4. unsalted butter

it tastes like something's still missing. cream cheese, perhaps?

@MD- You're lacking actual meat. Apart from cheating (with broth cubes or chicken powder), using real meat in the process is the only way to get that extra kick. Cut the pieces of meat (beef or lamb, since lamb is common over there) into 1in chunks and brown them in some oil. once it starts to brown, add in a halved onion (with the root, so that the onion stays whole), 3-4 garlic cloves (unpeeled, crushed), and some fennel seeds (this is optional), and about 10g butter; continue browning. drain out the grease from the pan, chuck all the ingredients back in, then slowly ladle in the liquid of your choice (add it in incriments, slowly reducing, so that you can extract all the flavor). once you've added in all the liquid, let it simmer for about 20m. strain the mixture, then let the liquid reduce, till it has the same consistency as room temp oil.
