Hey hey hey Just a few days ago, the voting stage of the MangaHelpers Anime Awards 2010 came to an end. The staff has counted the votes and I'm sure everyone has been looking forward to the results. Thanks to your nominations and votes, we now have our winners! Which series won the award of Best Original Series? First, let us look back to when the Awards first began...

The series that were nominated for this category were: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (3 nominations), Code Geass (3 nominations), Neon Genesis Evangelion (1 nomination), Darker than Black (1 nomination), Samurai Champloo (1 nomination), Gundam Seed (1 nomination) and Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (1 nomination).

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Code Geass moved smoothly into the next round. However, in order to decide the last 3 finalists, we had to conduct a tie-breaker. The results of the tie-breaker dictated that following in their footsteps would be Darker than Black, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Samurai Champloo!

Alright then, let's get down to business proper! So without further ado... You, the invaluable members of the MangaHelpers community have cast your votes!! And the winner of the BEST ORIGINAL SERIES category is...!!!

Congratulations to BONES for sweeping yet another award, this time for their innovation and creativity in coming up with the 100% original psychological mecha action two-part series, Code Geass!!
