Kensei Muguruma Kensei is the former captain of the 9th Division. In comparison with his fellow Visored, Kensei is a much more serious character. He has a short temper and is easily irritated, particularly by Kuna Mashiro. Kensei's zanpakutō is named Tachikaze and released with the command "Blow". His shikai shrinks it down into the form of a survival/combat knife. While in this form, Kensei demonstrates the ability to charge and fire spiritual energy from the blade. Tachikaze can also manipulate wind. His hollow mask resembles an ice hockey mask, with several rectangular slits. Kensei's bankai is named Tekken Tachikaze.

Hisagi Hisagi Shūhei is the 9th division vice-captain. Following the teachings of his former captain, he fears the destructive power of the sword and often shares his philosophical beliefs with opponents. He wears a choker and armbands that can be used as explosives. He is proficient in all fours areas of shinigami combat. The shikai of his zanpakutō, Kazeshini, takes the form, which Hisagi dislikes, of two pinwheel-esque, double-sided scythes used as projectiles and connected by a chain.

Love Aikawa Love is a Visored and former Captain of the 7th Division. Love is a laid-back and easy-going man, usually reading Shōnen Jump or some of Lisa's erotic manga in his spare time, more often than not, spoiling a piece of the story by quoting lines and explaining what the character meant by it in a dramatic, tough-guy demeanor, almost as if he was an actor rehearsing movie lines. Love's zanpakutō is named Tengumaru. His shikai transforms it into a large kanabō reminiscent of a black cactus, twice the size of Love. Tengumaru has the ability to project fire from its tip.

Zommari Zommari Rureaux, the Seventh (Septima) Espada and the self proclaimed “fastest espada,” moves so fast that he is able to make image clones of himself. His Resurrección, Brujería, gives him an odd appearance in which from the waste down he becomes pumpkin-shaped and develops several eyes all over this body. In this state, he is not only able to defend himself in a spherical ball but can also use Amor in which he can take control over something for each corresponding eye on his body. His deadly combination of speed and control makes him a tricky opponent to face.

The team names just keep getting better XD

I'm gonna go with Chocolate Love. Love always seemed to be above most of the other Vaizards, I personally consider him and Shinji to be the top of the Vaizards. Zommari I also think is underrated, even when sealed he's got some crazy speed, and his ability is hax, couple that in with a guy bashing their heads in with a club, and I think they've got this down.

It's almost not fair, as I don't see Kensei being good enough to make up for Hisagi's inevitable loss to Zommari. Once it's two on one, Kensei's done. If he had Bankai, it'd be more interesting, but we can't take it into account.

Well, I think it's obvious that 2 Captain/Espada Class Fighters>1 Captain and 1 VC.
Zommari would probably blitz Hisagi right away, and Love will keep Kensei busy until Zommari comes in and finishes the job. So yeah, "Chocolate Love" wins.

I agree Hisagi wouldn't have a chance vs Zommari - even without Z's resurreccion Hisagi probably couldn't keep up with his sonido.

However, I believe if Hisagi distracted Love for long enough Kensei could make short work of Zommari... his 50 eyes wouldn't be able to do anything to Kensei's wind attacks so I see it as being a Byakuya type situation.

Assuming Hisagi manages to stay alive, and after Kensei deals with Zommari, they could take Love 2v1 with ease. I would actually expect Kensei to be able to take Love 1 on 1, although that's just my intuition talking, and my recollection of Love and Rose's performance vs Starrk.

So I'm undecided at this point, but if the strategy above is used I feel 69 might just have a shot.

It's true that chocolate love would probably win because they have 2 captain level fighters, with powerful abilities, but Kensei can use bankai plus mask. If he can take one out quickly his team could possibly win/

Chocolate love sadly. Kensei I hold as second best Vizard honestly, but it's a hard sell when Hisagi gets rape stomped and the dude who loves his melee has to deal with such a hax anti melee move and such an absurdly huge weapon against such a little knife.

Well, I think this is in theory a fairly more even match than has been described thus far.

When we were coming up with this match, we tried to make the teams fairly even in terms of fan esteem. Kensei and Love seem to be about even in that respect. Shuuhei is considered one of the top vice-captains and has a nice array of skills in both kidou and zanjutsu. Zommari, on the other hand, is perhaps the Espada with the lowest fan esteem on this site. So, we had hoped that people would give the seemingly slightly weaker in power team (Team 69) more thought in terms of how to win.

Kensei also has access to bankai. We feel that we have seen enough from it for there to be reasonable speculation on its power. (We were able to discuss it based on what was in the manga, and so you could too if you wanted.) We feel some level of speculation is fun and adds a wildcard element to the tournament, but if you don't want to discuss Tekken Tachikaze, it is obviously your choice not to do so.

Since Team 69 is not getting much support at the moment, here is an argument in their favor with which I came up :

Like ShootToKill suggested, I think Hisagi would be skilled enough to act as a distraction. If he decided to confront Love, who is not the type of person it seems to immediately go for the kill without some "cool" talk, that would allow Kensei, a much more no-nonsense fighter, to take on Zommari, whom I think he could probably defeat. Then, even if Love at some point got serious and took out Hisagi, the fight would boil down to Kensei vs Love, which would be a very interesting match that might go either way (with or without Tekken Tachikaze as a factor).

But yeah, Zommari/Love win this one. All things considered Hisagi, as a shinigami vice captain, seems like dead weight among powerful former Vaizard captains and an exceptionally broken ability. Chocolate Love, was it? Yeah, they take it.

Anyway, I think 69 almost deserves the vote for featuring the two most badass males in the manga side by side. Still gonna go with Love and Zommari though. Mainly for the reason others have mentioned, Kensei's handicapped here with a VC level partner. Even then, I still slightly favor Love over Kensei.

I never said that Hisagi would be able to.


Zommari is the fastest guy in this battle, but he would probably get stomped when he releases (the pumpkin doesn't have any speed feats at all, so it's possible that he's immobile)
