Shinobi no Kuni by WADA Ryou and BANNO Mutsumi
Genre: Action, Historical, Tragedy
Serialized: Gekkan Shounen Sunday
Summary and Preview:
Based on a novel by Wada Ryou, "Shinobi no kuni" brings a story that blends history and fiction as it shows the struggles happening during the 16th century in Iga, a region famous by the Iga Shinobi, the ninjas from Iga.
With gorgeous artwork evoking traditional Japanese horror tales, and featuring charismatic characters, this is a very promising manga, currently published in Gekkan Shounen Sunday.
this is a really good manga, it has incredible art and a good story.
An epic series so far. I love bloody historical manga, this one fits in nicely with Vinland Saga, Shut Hell, and the like. Something about the art makes every gesture of the characters look super human.
Finally it gets the love it deserves.
The fifth chapter is released and the family/political consequences some people face. Iga people who run to the other side because of the cruelty they faced. Each of them has their own reason to be part of a side. I like Mumon a lot, he is very strong. I am looking forward to the upcoming confrontation.
Mumon is my favorite. Despite being a pretty violent guy, he's easy to sympathize with. The sub-plot about his fiance adds a lot of deoth to his character.
I have very little sympathy for Heibe. On the surface he seems like Naruto, seeking peace in a violent world. But in reality he is more like Sasuke, out for revenge, joining the side he thinks can best provide it. He's the same as Tsugesaburou; he hasn't renounced the violent ways of Iga, he simply turned on them.
