I just realized that we don't have a Hang Out Thread.
Lets start one
Welcome to the DGM Hang Out Thread!
Here can you talk about everything related to the wonderful D. Gray Man manga which isn't worth to start a own thread for. Chat with the other DGM fans here at Mangahelpers, meet new friends and have fun!
Just don't spam and be nice to each other, please.
Wow, absolutely no one has used this thread yet. I guess I'll take the liberty of being the first.
What can I say...?
Has there been anybody who has re-read the entire manga up to a point way~ past the halfway mark?
I've only read everything up to 103 once, but when I get some coursework out of the way, I'm going to read it all again and spend even more time on it.
When I read it the first time, it was like a storm. I simply zapped through the whole set in a couple of days and I loved every teeny-weeny-split-second of it!
the first time i read d.gray man was november/december 2006. i spent 2 days without sleep just reading it from scratch to the current at that time
for the rest of my holidays, i re-read it once more (but took only a day)
and i'm currently starting volume 3 of the raws (trying to read japanese...)
*well, i've lack the motivation for the raws currently coz the novels are constantly in my mind...other than my exams *
look at all the pretty pictures....*staring at dgm manga*, but i spent all my money buying the novels *sobs*
the japanese yen is raising, this is going to make imported books in singapore more expensive *wallows*
Haha, sounds quite like me...but I did take a quick nap though (about 8 hours) and then shortly after I got back up, I was reading it again. It was like an automatic action, I didn't even need to think to do it.Originally Posted by tune
So you're broke now and can't buy any manga from the bookshop at the moment, Lol. Save save save. I can't buy anything of D.Gray-man right now...the book shop doesn't even seem to have volume 1 at the moment when they should have.
How are those novels? Is that D.Gray-man reverse you're talking about? I have downloaded the two available but haven't had the time to read it yet.
novels=reverse novels *yeap*
theres a download version of the reverse novels??
(i thought timcampi scanlations only released until the 2nd story of reverse01...)
yes, i'm broke to the bone for last month and now.
i'm looking forward to the chinese new year red packets....*in desperate need of $*
now, i'm torn between buying a tablet and buying a electronic dictionary ><
Electronic dictionary? What's special about that (not in a rude tone, just confused xP)? It's the first time I've heard of something like that...
Also, yes, I downloaded those two novels from Timcanpi.org
It seems like there are some more novels out?
there are 2 reverse novels, each novel has 3 stories.
i need an electronic dictionary to help with kanji translation ><
its really a pain getting cramps after checking on the net for hours...
Ah I see...then perhaps you should get that first, and get the tablet later. You have to earn the tablet by improving your kanji database. Lol.
How many novels are there expected to be? I know I'm going to have great fun reading them...
that's true but the best i've found is seiko-e10000 (something like that) and its over s$600 without drawing kanji capabilities. while sharp (the company) has one with a smaller database but has drawing kanji capabilities.
*so, i'm praying that seiko will develop one with drawing kanji capabilities....soon..)
i need to get a tablet coz i wanna colour pictures like *points everywhere* those
i'm not sure about the expected number of novels, but there are 2 currently. and yes, its really enjoyable reading them
*i nearly spilt yoghurt over reverse02 when i was reading the reunion party*
moral of the story: never eat yoghrt while reading.
Lol, never forget the moral you have made today.
I don't know what I would do to myself if I did that. You want to colour too? How big will your tablet drawing section be? A4 size, or A5 or maybe A6? Since you're spending quite a large amount of cash on your e-dictionary, make sure you get the best one. If you're gonna spend that much, might as well spend it good. xP
Also, when you start to colour with your tablet, what will you colour first?
Will it be...
probably *since i said this before in the art board...*
the tablet is an exception, i'll need to fork out fully (max s$350) , but the electronic dictionary is just partial (coz it'll be a fine excuse to learn japanese words )
*its kinda difficult to tell my father: dad, can i buy that? coz i want to colour in the com.*
father's digital art appreciation=0%
Lol, old-fashioned fathers, can't escape them. xD
Have you been reading a lot of tutorials and do you colour already on your mouse? I think it would be a nice skill to have...the ability to make nice nice colourings.
So you're definitely going to colour a D.Gray-man piece then?
Yeap ：Ｄ defiantly.
Tutorials don’t really lay an impression on me, I’d rather tweak around with the photoshop/painter programs for a near two days, and then refer to some books I borrowed beforehand from my school’s library.
I’m considering to enter a game design and development course after I graduate the one I’m currently in…
*what goes around, comes around.
I really like art lessons when I was young (my mom’s a graphic designer, so I spend my days just gazing at the colour charts…lol!). but the art course was not offered as a subject for my secondary education. And I made a stumble when applying for polytechnic studies (I though I’d not enter my first two choices due to the cut-off points, but I did. Mulitimedia was the 3rd choice)
I pretty much screwed 3 yrs of my life, yes…
So you like graphic and arts stuff? Nice...my brother is into all of that too. I'm sorry you "threw" away three years of your life, Lol...but at least you've gained experience, right?
I wish you luck on getting on to that Game Design course you're hoping for.
One thing I'd like to say is, I really like your analysis of the title of the story D.Gray-man. You said you think it's called that because Allen is the one bridging the gap between humans and akuma?
thanks for the well wishes & complimant
i wondered about that ever since the first chapter when the akumas are potrayed as puppets to the earl. then the thought came back stronger when
but i'm sure many ppl would have thought about that since allen is the main character who can symphatize with the akuma
your creativity in creating a noah apostle was amazing it'll fit into the story snugly....~
