i have always wondered where the title of this manga/anime can into play?
what does the "d." stand for and what does the "gray-man" stand for anyways?
(thats actually why i stopped myself from watching/reading this in the beginning - because i thought the title was stupid xD)

I think Hoshino herself has said little about it (I personally think she's holding back some secret info ) something about the title being a mix of different words.. something she kinda... randomly came up with (previous title suggestions had been "Dolls" and "Zone" and such)
She said that black and white plays an important role in D.Gray-man, and "Gray-man" refers to Allen, but appearantly to other characters as well..
The "D." is still mysterious. Some theories by fandom:
- It could simply be "The" ("The Gray man")
- It could refer to "Dolls"
- It could be the secret Will of the D!
- Some have suggested it could have been a reference to Dorian Gray, because of the similarity of the names?
- Maybe Hoshino just thinks it's a pretty letter :3
I think there's something important to the "D", because of this page
Hahaha, I remember thinking the title was "Dr. Gray-man" before I started reading the manga, because a friend of mine was a huge fan of Komui, and used to draw him all the time. I thought he was a doctor and the main character in DGM
According to the fanbook interview, the D doesn't mean anything.
can someone please explain to me,who exactly was the spirit of the woman in almas body that Allen saw?
My english is not very well, so, i hope that you'll understand this If you don't, someone can explain better than me. :P
This is the "The Rose Cross Journal". Its the front cover of the scene "strip Allen". Can someone traduct what is on the first page? (WHen the titte is.)

Wow, nice work on that.
I wish D.Gray Man would be weekly again so we could get to solving this mysteries a little quicker, instead of having to delve into the Bible and use every little clue we can possibly find to make theories out of
even though its kind of fun.
Nah~ I like DGM being monthly more, although the wait. The story is more detailed and less filled than weekly series.

Every time I think about DGM returning to WSJ, I remember the painful hiatuses... Hopefully we'll never have to experience those ever again...
November 2008 to March 2009 was beyond agonizing. And then the series went on another hiatus after Chapter 186... and 187... Not to mention the one-week-breaks that Hoshino was so very fond of. >_<
was there ever stated whats the maximum level an akuma can reach?or is it just 4?
It hasn't been stated, but level four is the highest so far.
IIRC, that is the method. The akuma need to kill a certain amount of human in order to evolve.
actually it hasn't been stated how the akuma evolve. the order thinks the akuma evolve from killing but the earl who created them clearly stated that the order doesn't know the real reason and way that the akuma evolve by
