i doubt the fight with daemon will be just a few chapters long and you said about a long-term threat ...you know byakuran even though he was defeated in the end was a long time threat ....the future arc was a very long one and this manga revolves around mafia world so i don't think it would be nice to have just one persistent enemy in fact that would be very disappointing...things like that are more suited in bleach, naruto but not here IMO ...^_^
