I've listen to Loz closely and over and over. He'd fit in to the character, just as you said.
But, I hear a bit nasal voice coming from the character. That made the voice a bit off from the image of Grimmjaw.
I haven't listen to the VA's other roles, thus I cannot tell whether it was on purpose or not. (In that famous fighting scene with Tifa, Loz seems to be alergic to pollen).
It's easier to fit Loz into Grimmjaw, since Rude rarely speak more than 5 words in a sentence. Plus, Loz has a similar hairdo with Grimmjaw.

Seriously, though, I usually imagine Grimmjow having Loz's voice when I read his dialouge in the manga. That's why I think it'd work.

Come to think of it, my image of Grimjow changes a couple of times. When he got worked up on killing Ichigo, I imagined he has the fast voice of Hiruma (Eyeshield) or Ryuuku. Coz I'd figure, he'd talk very fast and sounded malicious. But then, when he cooled off in front of Aizen, I'd imagine his voice will be heavier, but still forceful.
What can I say, I have a very indecisive way of imagining who voices who. hehehe...

They're already suck for the fillers. So they cannot make more mistakes on choosing the VA.

I thought it was mostly hit and miss, with more misses. Kariya and the new Mod-Souls were really good--but most of the other Bounto and their dolls had VAs that ranged from just under average to flat-out shitty. So I see where you're coming from.

Ehm... sometimes it may occur that I'm a bit inept in articulation. I may made a terrible generalization about the fillers.
On the other hand, I literally stopped watching the anime, a couple episodes after the bount(o) arc started (You can say, I'm a slightly purist when it comes to Bleach). That made me a bit ignorant on spotting the good details.

There weren't that many, VA wise, so you didn't miss much. Believe me.

Oh, tell me about it. It seems like it happens alot in English dubs though--and it can be much worse than simple bad acting, to me.

you're perfectly right. I remembered the first time I watched english-dubbed Kenshin. Kaori's voice was horrifyingly off the character.
I don't watch english-dubbed version though. They only broadcasted in cable, which I never subscribe.

I remember being so put off by the English VA's voice for Shishio. His voice wasn't menacing enough at all--he sounded like he'd fit Spike from Cowboy Bebop so much better.

I never get the chance to hear Shishio in english. It must've been a pain to hear the character is ruined.
How bout Ichigo's english dubber? Have you watched the english version? How's he?
