The son of Konoha's White Fang, Hatake Kakashi is widely considered the best of his generation and a pure genius; he graduated from the Academy at age 5, becoming a chūnin at age 6, a jōnin at 13, and had a long tenure as an member of Konoha's ANBU. Although, his skills were always top notch, he didn't come into his own until after he acquired a sharingan from his best friend. It's with this added ability that Kakashi became known as "Sharingan Kakashi" or "Copy Ninja Kakashi". A monicure derived from him being said to have copied over a thousand jutsu.

Built like mountain, Kitsuchi of Iwagakure is tall and strong shinobi, so strong that he has been appointed as commander of the Second Division of the Allied Shinobi Forces that specializes in short-range combat. Don't let his bulk fool you, as he is also quite agile! He seems to be a rather no-nonsense sort of shinobi, and his Doton affinity complements his tough persona. Exceedingly adept with his element, he has seen to use Doton in a variety of ways, including moving large quantities of earth and as battle armor. His most powerful technique, Doton: Sando no Jutsu, creates two gargantuan wedges of rock, much larger than even the gigantic Gedō Mazō, that crush the target in a humongous rock sandwich.

Maaaaaan this is why i don't like this. <.<

No one knows what Kitsuchi is capable of. All we know is that he can use Doton jutsu and could possibly even possess Yoton. Yet we have just seen about 3-4 jutsu from him, some of which were on an incredibly large scale. But nonetheless he is just way to of a unknown commodity to the readers. Kakashi is going to win, but i would have liked to have seen some of these characters have their matches pushed back as far as possible. Thus giving us more of a chance to see what they could do.

Yup...same here...people who pack enough firepower didn't receive extensive character development, for us to discuss comfortably...Kitsuchi is the same, however, we can argue that his jutsus are executed fast, and this last jutsu he showed is quite destructive...

But when considering battle smarts, speed, etc...he is null, we can assume from his position that he is an experienced Jounin...
But Kakashi is far more versatile, has earth jutsu to escape what Kitsuchi throws at him...not to mention MS, Raiton and just battle smarts...

Ugh....Kakashi wins this being A. a popular character around here B. we've seen barely anything from Kitsuchi.....he was introduced what 20+ chapters ago.....not alot of time to see if he's on par with Kakashi....bad matchup

Ur right Zerocooldx, We know everything about Kakashi and so little about Kitsuchi. Ill take Kakashi on this one cause I know soo little about Kitsuchi. Also Kakashi is world famous for a reason

Elemental advantage, Mangekyō Sharingan, Generally more well known in terms of combat. Is it really a question as to who would win this?

We don't know almost anything about Kitsuchi so this is going to end in a tremendous win of Kakashi when this round ends.
But even though we know something more about Kitsuchi i would expect to see Kakashi winning.
Kakashi is just way to smart and his MS makes him just way to difficult to beat.
And also this is a fight of a genius that uses a lot Raiton against someone that uses Doton.
Both seem to use very smartly their jutsus but this makes already Kakashi in a best path of winning this.
And he still has his MS !
The only thing that i think that might be bad for Kakashi is the fact that probably Kitsuchi possesses more chacra than him, but Kakashi is very clever so he will probably plan everything with the same cautiousness as he has always done until now.
Kakashi wins this , but i just feel sorry that we can't really use very "strong" arguments to prove why Kakashi is definitely stronger than Kitsuchi and it probably is not going to exist much debate because of this

Why is elemental advantage so important to you? Kakashi has shown three lightning techniques, Raikiri, Lightning Dog, and the clone. These jutsu are effective against jutsu of a similar level, but are meaningless when Kutsuchi throws a mountain at you as it is simply on a whole other level.

Considering he is the leader of the close range, that means that his physical prowess is considered to be the best, and considering hew was able to punch a 6 tailed Kinkaku away that's awfully impressive.

As for Kakashi escaping his jutsu, how? The only way would to be go underneath the earth itself, and as shown Kitsuchi can easily take care of that. I would imagine that the higher you go in the element, the more sensing prowess you achieve so he would be able to tell where Kakashi was.

because of the little information we have on kitsuchi...I'ma have to go with kakashi on this one. I'm sure in the 1000 techniques he's copied...he'll have some to defeat earth style jutus. Now im not knocking kitsuchi skill...I just dont know what it is.

Given to Kakashi. Kitsuchi has the edge with massive techniques, but Kakashi appears to be much more versatile and smart. Not to mention, that Kakashi can attempt to burrow into the ground to escape from Kitsuchi's techniques and then utilize a clone to distract him. Worst case, Kakashi uses Kamui.

Kakashi. Kitsutchi can use his giant Earth Sandwich to crush him, but Kakashi can crawl underneath the ground to avoid the incoming walls and appear behind him with a Raikiri. Likewise his Raikiri will shred right through his armor like it did against Kakuzu, and he has access to bunshin and Raiton Bunshin to distract and stun the opponent inorder to warp his head off with a Kamui.

Kitsutchi could likely outlast Kakashi, but I don't think he's shown the wide range of techniques necessary to defend against a ninja as versatile as Kakashi.

We practically didn't see that much from Kitsuchi, but I believe that hey are shinobi of practically the same level, but at least we know that Kakashi is pretty versatile, has three chakra elements and has Mangeoku Sharingan, so I'd easily give this fight to him.

Personaly i belive this guys with no feats(or close to) should be left out of the Tournament.
Anyway going with the guy that actualy has feats, Kakashi.

Kitsuchi is lacking in feats, and he has no hype like some of the other contenders in this tournament. Kakashi wins this by default really.

Kakashi, but really only because we've seen so much more from him.
Plus, elemental advantage, and Kamui (his MS ability), he could take chuncks out of the mountain Kitsuchi is trying to crush him in, and then take chunks out of Kitsuchi).
