okay episode more flashbacks i give it a 7 sage naruto was animated really good this chapter. they should have saved the animation for other episodes coming especially the one after the next one it should be good.

We had flashbacks in the manga. They lasted just a few panels and Naruto makes his decision. No decision here. Just flashback after flashback after flashback.

3 people gave this a 10????? I thought the filler episodes were over.... I can't believe they dragged out what should have been 3 pages in the manga to 30 minutes of nothingness. I guess the 3 people who gave it 10 have never read the manga and have never seen the Naruto episodes. I mean the flashback that were shown must have been used as flashbacks around 10 times already. Maybe thats were the 3 people got confused. They must have thought that 10 refered to the number of times they've used the exact flashback.

There should be a rule to the number of times you can use a flashback. It's like they have a databank of flashbacks they use for Naruto and they just dragged and dropped it into the film strip to make it drag out.

Animator2: Oh ya... well we have a week to finish?
Animator1: But I want to play black ops....
Animator2: Shit I had 52 kills in one game last night...
Animator1: Screw this... I'm opening up the flashback folder...

I was thinking that too and I HOPE NOT! but in the previews we see one part of kakashi's flashback (includes all three people too i guess) but the funny thing is that we saw the previews flashbacks during sakura's flashbacks last week which were flashbacks that were shown many times before xD!

SMH....How did so many people hate this episode?

Sure it wasn't a 10 but once again just like last episode the flashbacks were done great and a lot of them were even re-animated.

Music was great too and I absolutely loved Sai and Jiraiya's parts. Sai's part was my personal favorite.

Every flashback was relevant to and built up hype for what's coming up.
The only sole flashback I thought it could have done without was Sasuke and Naruto's move clash since it did nothing to expand on the characters but manga readers should understand why they added it.

IF there is one gripe I have about this episode it's WHY IN THE HELL WOULD THEY SHOW KAKASHI'S RESCUE in the previews? Seriously what the hell where they thinking? That was an epic moment and MAJOR cliffhanger in the manga and they just decided to go on and ruin it for the next episode. Whoever the director is for Shippuden needs to get fired. Seriously that guy has shown so much fail through and through. You would swear he hasn't even read the manga or knows anything about the plot with the pacing and direction failures the Shippuden anime has shown.

On a brighter note I can't wait to taste everyone's tears again next week when they show more flashbacks because next is Kakashi's turn. I'm really looking forward to it however because they never really expanded too much in the manga how Kakashi's feels about Sasuke's turning into a criminal.

I kept waiting and waiting for Namek to blow up...and they just kept flashing back more and more until they flashed back to the scene that had just happened in that same episode!!


That's how bad this was.

What a beautifully directed and animated episode. I agree there are lot of flashbacks but they do provide good impact and understanding of the events whats gonna come next. An Anime can't be an exact replica of the Manga. Due to space constraint, there are many things which Author may not show in the Manga. Especially Kishi as he leaves so many things for the viewers.
Anime too can provide different or extended version of those events.
Coming back to the episode, I find it better than the previous episode. Emotions are always conveyed beautifully in Naruto Manga and I feel this episode is doing the same. Naruto and Sasuke are amazing characters and share a strong bond in a different way. Any episode involving both of them is pure win for me any day.

I once again liked a lot this episode though it didn't gave anything more to me.
Cuz we all know what Naruto is thinking and what happened , and on the previous episode , it might had work better cuz Sakura emotions wasn't that shown.
But though it didn't gave anything more to me i give it a 10 cuz it was very well done !
The animation was great
And i don't have the problem with episodes like these
This means we won't get to fillers so soon ! Yeah , i hate fillers !

I read the manga several times,so i did not need this whole repetition at all.The animation was rather meh as well,so rather than re-animating everything,they should've just used old scenes and spared some money for the upcoming episodes...

Even though we know all of this already, I kind of like it being repeated, just because it wraps up any and all major things connected to Sasuke's situation. Last week we got Sakura's point of view, this week's Naruto's, next week Kakashi's. Who knows, Sasuke might actually be shown as well. The music choice was good too.

But yeah, I'd prefer just moving along too <_< 6/10

Also, does anyone know the name of the soundtrack that starts playing at around 1:40 ? It's near the part where Naruto is remembering Sasuke during their academy days. I'd appreciate it!

That was a very good episode!
Sure, the story didn't move on, but I like those flashbacks episode.

Makes me realized just how much I loved Sasuke back then, and just how much I wish that Naruto could bring him back to his senses and that they could be friends again.

After seeing him go crazy all the time, I start thinking that he should die a painful death, but those flashbacks are so moving that after watching them I really want Sasuke to return to his old-self.

Pretty much this. It's kind of fun that I want to hate should hate Sasuke really much, but I cannot since I loved him so much in the part I and I'm reminded of it often.
I don't mind flashbacks at all, manga is major to me. The good things will come in the end, so if it's this week or the next (and I hope not, because of the Elk Hum or what was his name) I don't care.

Some time ago, I started to look on it different and instead of trying to find bad things, I see the good things.

I wanna see fights or animation but I don't watch if for storyline because I already know what happened because I read manga and I am big fan therefore I don't need build up moments for something. Manga is spoiling you the storyline, then you come bashing anime that you dont care about storyline because you already know the storyline. Do you realize what you just said ?
