Re: 8.9 Magnitude Earthquake in Japan

I hope Norihiro Yagi (Claymore) is safe and makes it through this tragedy. To repeat the words of one of his characters, Galatea, "I never believe in God, but for the first time I seriously feel like praying to the God of Rabona."

Please bring back Yagi and the people of Japan to safety!
All possibilities are on the table...

Re: The Effects of the Recent Earthquake in Japan on the Manga Community

I'm worried. Really worried. Not about manga, though, but about the family and friends I have in Japan.
I've gotten replies from my family and classmates in Aichi-ken, they are okay, but no reply as of yet from some friends in Tokyo. I'm also worried about some old exchange students we had who lived in Sendai- from what I've heard, Sendai was pretty much wiped out.

I'm also still waiting to hear about how the family I worked with in Biei-shi, in Hokkaido, is doing.. so if anyone has any news from that area, I'd appreciate it.

I haven't turned the TV on for three days now... I know if I do, I won't be able to stop crying.

Best of luck to NJT and all other members who are currently in Japan, or have friends/relatives there. <3

On an off-topic note: I didn't know Watsuki's wife was actually named Kaoru. (just found out after reading the link above)

Wonder if Watsuki made it while they were dating or were they actually married when he got serialized??

    On topic: *sigh* Kishi, where are you??!! we need 100% confirmation that you're alive!!! ;_;

Where are you Kentaro Miura ? It seems that we don't have a piece of news concerning him (see here to see others names, sorry for not mentioning all the people involved in this trial). I hope that news'll come soon and that the numbers of victims won't increase. God - or what you want if you don't believe in - bless you. We need you Japan !

Google Translate isn't helping much, but I think it says publication of any Shueisha magazine (including Jump) is uncertain right now.
If we use Shueisha as a basis to go by, then we can say Shonen Magazine is just as uncertain as them.

    Re: japan earthquake and tsunami

Can I see your source? Because if it's this blog http://wanko-shiba.jugem.jp/ (linked on 2ch), it was confirmed as fake. Amano is rather secretive, she doesn't have a blog or a Twitter as far as I know. I haven't been able to find reliable information about her yet...

Sorry for doubting but I'm kind of worried, I really want confirmed information that she's okay ><

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

    Hello!

I would much prefer if SWJ would let everyone know the status of their mangakas and staff before any new issue was put out. I could wait a month to get the new chapters. I just want to stop worrying too.

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk

According to Mangastream, their members in Japan are safe and sound. But I do hope their families are all right and not one of the victims... if so, I extend my condolences to them and will wait patiently until they feel they can do their job without worrying about their families.

@Bianchi: 2 of the Big 3 are confirmed to be safe, however Kishi's status is unconfirmed and reports are blurry about him.

    Hello!

I know that Kubo and Oda are alright. I have heard the same about Kishimoto. The one that I most want to know about is Akira Amano.

Re: The Effects of the Recent Earthquake in Japan on the Manga Community

As a response to the disc in the Naruto Hangout Thread.

True{Shueisha] they are a multimillion business and they can't just stop working, as they got their own families to feed. The majority of the population is untrained[don't mix it with the preparation for earthquakes, I mean medics, fire services, rescue services and military] and therefore can't help those in danger directly. Others may just want to be distracted by doing their work. If japans industry would stop because of that, it would only hurt them further. To do nothing is giving up though.

Don't try to intepret this as wanting to read the next chapter!
