I'm not impressed by the new Hody and If Oda uses this powerup to give Hody king's haki I will be so sad. The reaction's of those sea king's have me worried that Hody doesn't fear Shirahoshi anymore.

if hody has king haki he would have had it before the power up since kings haki is not learned it something that your born with.

That doesn't make me any less scared that Hody might have awakened king's haki now.

I don't think the fans are so shallow as to have their view of Hody completely reversed just because he lost his beer belly.

Hodi... while looks more impressive, is still going to lose. Even after the mutation, the steroids still have taken its full effect. The negative recourse will hit him when he least expects it and that will be the lead towards his downfall. But still, Jimbei, if he has to deal with all of them will have a hard time.

I think Luffy and Jimbei fought to a draw just like when Jimbei and Ace fought.

Guess the three princes and perhaps Jinbe are going to lose this but what surprised me is that Hyozou took some as well, I thought he would be this drunken master, whose all about the booze and the swords, guess this really quenches his chances of joining.

I liked the new Hody a lot, to be honest but I doubt he'll be to Luffy as Lucci was.

Nightmare Luffy was well explained and Moria used the same technique but this is something else entirely. The rise in power level is way too much. He went from a noob Zoro could own in one slash to a God. That's just too crazy, thought Oda had better story-writing skills than that.

I doubt Hody has haki. It was probably just "primal fear" instead of intimidation so I wouldn't worry. If that is the case, then Hody is now at the top of the sea beast "food chain" for lack of a better term. A predator to them.

As I expected Luffy was retained back and Jinbe went ahead of him I think we wont see any of the SHs for the next 2-3 chapters until NFP will defeat the three brothers and Jinbe will not be defeated but he will get beaten up but he still can fight and then the SHs will jump in and save the day

i think luffy is already on his way, ahead of jinbei... also i think decken's plan might be to just spam the princess with large things, and since luffy promised to protect her he will have to deflect all of it, thus destroying fishman island..

I don't like this twist about Hodi. Seems way too far-fetched to me. I mean, it won't be enough to stop Luffy or Zoro (the only one who can save Jimbei, the King, the Princes and the Princess), but it's just silly. Where did that drop come from? Was it sweat? C'mon, it's ridiculous! Oda let me down this time.

P.S. Also, I expected Hodi to become horrible disfigured yet powerful monster, not a cool pumped-up guy who got rewarded for having an overdose. What kind of message is that?!

Those pills double your strength. When you take 8 pills you are 256 times stronger. So getting from a noob who got owned from Zoro to a serious threat if overdosed is pretty logical to me. Substances that make you stronger are already known since Alabasta and there drawbacks as well. Furthermore Oda has more planes for those ES which will be explained after Hody is defeated and/or the ES stop working and the drawback comes at full force. Then he either will die or will be saved by chopper and/or a blood transfusion by probably Luffy which will strengthen the bond between Humans and Fishman.
Would you please refrain from calling events or storytelling devices that YOU don’t like as bad story writing because it’s annoying as hell.
I too don't like the ES and everything connected with it YET but it isn't bad story writing at all
