Suigetsu vs Neji

Neji can't hit Suigetsu's tenketsu if his tenketsu are turned into water. People are of the opinion he just hits people and their chakra turns off, but it doesn't work like that. Neji's chakra attacks are tiny, tiny internal injuries that hit the opponent's either internal organs, or their tenketsu.

You turn yourself into water and the tenketsu are no longer there. Instead it's just water. So no, he can't.

He obviously still has tenketsu, if he didn't he'd never be able to turn back into human form because he'd have no chakra network within to mold chakra. So, while his tenketsu won't be "normal" by any means, it'll still be there.

Neji wins to be honest since Suigetsu haven't done anything impressive IMO. Even if we want to assume that the gentle fist won't work on him, Suigetsu still has no way of winning against Neji besides outlasting him which isn't an easy feat as well considering the fact that Suigetsu isn't exactly the guy with the most stamina.

We haven't seen anything about him but this would be a good match none the less. Suigetsu is a swordsman, after all. Besides his water jutsu he's got skills in blades. He wants to collect all of the swords because if he was training to be his brother's replacement, then he should be efficient in all of them. Not a small task, mind you.

That's good for him but let's be honest here, he has little to no feats in battle. Even if he is supposedly such a good swordsmen, we didn't even manage to see him do anything impressive other than defeating fodder CS2 mobs.

Tenketsus are a part of the human anatomy. Suigetsu in its water form is formless and does not have chakra channels like a human body does. He is more likely just a mass of chakra in Neji's eyes.

Well, 'cause Kishimoto hasn't showcased him. Hell, remember Chouji? Who the hell thought he would pull that buttefly mode out of his ass? Anyone's capable of anything in the series. Hell, Konohamaru pulled a fast one on Pain. Who'd've thought? But, going by what the manga has stated about Suigetsu, even if he hasn't fought other ninja per se, I could argue the same against Neji. In fact, allow me to be the devil's advocate against Neji. He lost to Naruto. Naruto without the Rasengan. He then almost died to Kidoumaru. The only reason he killed Kidoumaru was because he didn't cut the web of the arrow after it pierced Neji. In the end, Neji was running away from him and achieved his goal because he was lucky enough to get the opening to send chakra back to Kidoumaru. That match was a draw. He's alive thanks to Tsunade and Shizune. So basically, up to that point, Neji's got 1 single win against a still unskilled Hinata, which was a totally unfair matchup. Afterwards, he only fights again but against himself, and he had a shitload of trouble but managed to defeat the clone.

Therefor, following logic, I'd say Neji is overhyped if we see his match record vs. what's actually said of him. Those who think so highly of him is because of what they believe he's capable of and what's been commented of him in the series. The same could then be said of Suigetsu. We haven't seen enough action per se, but he has been talked about and hyped to a certain degree. He was chosen by Orochimaru and then handpicked by Sasuke for Taka. That says something.

Oh, and don't get me wrong. I'm a big Neji fan. He should seriously get some showcase in the manga (though I like the comic relief he's dishing out ). I mean, he got outshined by Chouji. Chouji.

Honestly, suigetsu isn't an issue on neji.. Neji's 64 strike combo with kamehameha is enough to make suigetsu a water pond. Neji can see his tenketsu, and when he use his gentle fist then it's over..

Erm well to be fair even in all those fights, Neji actually showed something. Suigetsu on the other hand mostly does things off panels or simply gets owned. The only thing really going for him here is the fact that he can turn liquid since he haven't even shown how well he can really fight.

Reasons are that eventhough Suigetsu can turn into water he must still have his chakra system otherwise he would always remain a water blob. So Neji can use his gentle fist to shutdown his chakra flow. And tbh the water blob tech is the only jutsu we have seen from him. And if neji gets caught in that its no problem. He will just use Kaiten and splash suigetsu away

Suigetsu has a tenketsu.. even if it looks like he doesn't have it, but still, in nejis's byakugan, he can see it clearly. Even all the bijuu, who are a mass of chakra, has still have it.. ( even if the anime is not a solid proof, but still we've seen that a water ninja like suigetsu has a tenketsu in their water from)

Tenketsu aren't little chakra shapes in the body. They are flesh and blood nodes along a person's chakra pathways that act like circuit breakers inside a person's body. And since everything in Suigetsu's body that is infact flesh turns to water you have to accept that his tenketsu become water too. His muscles turn to water. His heart turns to water. His tenketsu turns to water. His chakra pathways turn to water.

As for him turning back to normal, remember his soul still exists. So does his mind (even if his brain doesn't), and his body has chakra in it, even if he doesn't have chakra pathways or tenketsu. Think of it like Gaara's sand. Even though it has chakra running through it doesn't mean Neji can poke it and make it fall apart. It's permeated with chakra, there are no little "touch this point and the sand stops working" spots inside it.

Even if Suigetsu doesn't have a chakra network he hasn't shown anything that can beat Neji so IMO Neji at the very least wins by wearing Suigetsu down.

If Neji has to use a constant amount of chakra to blow Suigetsu up or turn him to puddles of water, who do you think will run out of chakra first? Suigetsu's never been shown to run low on chakra just from liquifying himself, and we're allowed to give him a body of water in the tournament to make sure he's even harder to contend with, so I've no real reason to believe Neji has the stamina to keep blowing up a giant water monster over and over.

Well, based on what we have seen we have no reason to really believe traditional gentle fist will work on suigetsu any more than any other taijutsu. neji can hurt inner organs but what good is that if they turn into water on contact? In that regard the only real threat we have any reason to believe will have an effect on suigetsu is the tenketsu bit. Basically the only thing that might pose a real threat from neji as far as we know is sealing away suigetsu's chakra. Even then, since suigetsu's body is clearly less than normal would it be the same as with anyone else? Perhaps the location of his tenketsu is all wrong to begin with or they are hard to reach one he transforms into water. Even then, sealing suigetsu's chakra does not mean neji can kill him. When suigetsu took the biju bomb head on and was out of it he did not turn solid but rather he was still water and had trouble going back to a solid form. Suigetsu does not "transform" into water, he IS water IMO. Neji has a significant disadvantage IMO.
