Summary (from Tokyopop)
Aoyagi Ritsuka is one troubled 6th grader. Two years ago, he mysteriously lost his memory and developed an alternate personality. His mother constantly berates (and occasionally beats) him, asking what happened to the "real" Ritsuka, and his only defender and friend, his older brother Seimei, was recently killed.
Suddenly, Seimei's apparent "friend," Soubi, appears. Soubi tells him that Ritsuka's true name is "Loveless," and that Soubi was assigned by Seimei to take care of Ritsuka and protect him. Ritsuka soon gets sucked into a bizzare underground society where teams of people, a "Fighter Unit," and a "Sacrifice," battle using elaborate and beautifully-phrased spells.
He seeks both acceptance of himself, and the answer to the mystery of who killed his brother and why.

If you're unfamiliar with Shōnen-Ai and want an atypical introduction, Loveless is the way to go. If you are familiar with Shōnen-Ai and haven't checked out Loveless yet, you need to do so now! The plot development, while a bit slow at times, is highly compelling, and does not take a backseat to the relationship aspect to the story, which is fairly unusual for Shōnen-Ai.
That's not to say that the relationship isn't a big part of the story though, because it is. However, what's emphasized more here is the deep bond between two souls -- a fighter and his or her sacrifice -- regardless of sex or age barriers. Intriguing, well-developed characters and gorgeous art added to the mix makes Loveless a must-read.
Anyone else here a fan?

I'm a HUGE Loveless fan. I only have up to volume 7 of the manga but have seen the brilliant anime (though its ending is extremely ambiguous, many have said this was deliberate to make way for a second installment).
I MUST recommend people read this review of Loveless: http://www.sleepisfortheweak.org/pics/loveless/ as quite honestly, it says everything I have ever wanted to say about it and is a very well balanced and honest review.
As for my own opinion, Loveless sets the highest benchmark in storytelling for this genre. The characters are beautifully presented and developed, and the situations they find themselves in really convincing.
I was never one for the whole furry ears, and tail kind of thing and even I raised an eyebrow at the age difference between the two mains, but they are both treated with respect and as a result, their relationship comes off as dignified and tragic rather than smutty, as it so easily could have done.
Definitely give this manga and anime a go peoples, it's a gem!
i love this manga the only problem is Kouga sensei do minus pages each time and do a lot of hiatus and that is so sad -_____________-
Any better download sources?
Ah, just realized that shoku-dan was recently hacked into and all of their loveless downloads are gone. I think they'll add them back up eventually, but in the meantime try THIS.
You'll need to join the community before you can see the post, but it has volume downloads through volume 9 chapter 9 (the last scanlated chapter), plus the artbook.
I think evil empire has them too, but you'll need to register and post 7 times before you can see the links.

Okay, peoples, Loveless in an awesome manga/anime!
I feel that Loveless is such a great thing that it actually surprises me that there isn't more discussion about it right now.
So lets re-boot this thread and keep the fandom of "Loveless" alive!!!!
Really good OST but not really good anime xD
The anime didn't get a chance to explain anything. -_-" and now the manga's bi-monthly.
Kio, anyone? The new chapter was like WOAH WTF? I wrote a really long theory sheet for it ^^
Kumibana is still scanlating this manga. Loveless last chapter released was 83 in september (they were lacking translator for the project).
I really liked this manga. It's different, but some battles are too slow.

Is the Loveless the MANGA better than the actual ANIME I watched the ANIME and I was disappointed because it ended so fast for me it cut off before the story really begin....
Should I go out and get the MANGA to get my fix of Loveless
The manga has its ups and downs. I dislike the school part in manga as much as in anime. That teacher just gets more and more annoying in my opinion.
There is always some small stories that sounds like filler.
But the story develops deeper in the manga. That Soubi's friend from college presents a certain mystery. There are a lot of action later.
You should get a taste of it to see if you like it after the anime part.
And it might be hard to find it in shops in the USA if they were from Tokyopop (or BLU manga). They closed in may.
I guess that's the end of Loveless for me .......
Chapter 94 is out!
The cover is sooooo cute!
