I agree with the one above me. I believe Yuujiro is a good editor, but I think Hattori is better.
Since they are promoted when they have a lot big hits, it makes sense it's Yuujiro. Lol, if Hattori was promoted, he might had to withdraw from being editor to somebody. Then with a bit of luck, we'd get to see Miura with AM again :boring

Note that Hattori is also the editor for One Piece.

I know the RL Hattori is no longer the OP editor, but since Hattori never mentions he's no longer editing it in the Bakumanverse, I am assuming OP is still under his belt as he recently said he's managing three series.

I like new character designs. The white one reminds me of a certain mutant of spider-man and power rangers, but I think the design will fit for the story of that manga.

super quick spoiler summary

Slow chapter week. It basically talks about Eiji's new manga idea, and Ashirogi Muto's new manga idea at the same time.

Nice plot twist though. Ashirogi Muto is aiming for a mainstream manga.

Eiji's new manga is a zombie manga. The main character is a zombie who doesn't like zombies and falls in love with a human and wants to turn back into a human.

Ashirogi Muto's manga on the other hand is much more interesting. Well, actually, I have no idea what they're drawing, because I got confused midway through the text walls. Takagi explained it briefly and very simple, then Mashiro had one of those 'oh!' moments when he was reading Nanamine's last one-shot then called Takagi to change a few things, and then I got confused when Mashiro explained what he was thinking.

What's interesting is all the obvious throwbacks and parallelism to Death Note. What with demons giving powers to human main character (very Ryuk-ish), main character thinks his way is correct and thinks the world will be better if they all shared his belief (very Yagami Raito-ish), Takagi saying leaving upto the readers to think if it's right or wrong (very Death Note-ish), then midway Mashiro throws in the main character kills all bad people he doesn't like (very death note-ish [the actual book]).

Oh, and, those character designs of Mashiro's? They're demons.

But more importantly, the take away thing for me this chapter, is that it yet again makes me think Bakuman is going to end soon.
I have this feeling that Ohba is going to make AM's new manga very similar to Death Note and it'll be very popular, get an anime, etc, and it'll end. It resembles Ohba and Obata to the very T which is what this manga was all about to begin with.

While I kind of have the feeling as well that Bakuman is starting to head for the end, I feel there's way too much to wrap up and go through for it to end very soon. If I'm remembering correctly, whenever Ashirogi come up with a new manga it takes them quite a long time to develop it, tweak it, unveil it, and then the wait drama to see if it's accepted by Jump. Then there's the fan response and the battles it goes through for ranking and so on. Manga then usually needs to be serialized for 1-2 years before getting an anime, unless Heishi suddenly decides to accept an anime offer for PCP like LazyFish suggested. XD

I do feel a lot of the characters that I wanted to see get some closure/update will probably not happen. Specifically: Nakai, Iwase, Shizuka, Shiratori, Nanamine.

Like you said, it sounds veery like DN. I'd say it would not be a good idea if it was the real world - because in Bakuman reality, DN existed and to write a manga that sounds just like it, it would get compared to DN and that's not a good idea.
However, I agree that if this manga is sort of biography, then yes, the ending would fit. Although I wanted the final AM manga to be "Bakuman" (Inception type, our Bakuman written by AM), with the dark hero and mainstream yet not stuff, it makes sense to do something like DN. I'm still thinking it' a pity that the Bakuman universe already has DN...

They are just starting to create the plot for their manga so they could just change it later if it too similar.

Interesting thought. So, what? The RL Bakuman we're reading is mainstream, yet not mainstream or is it a cult hit? Saikou/Shuujin definetelly aren't anti-heroes like Light, but Bakuman ain't your typical mainstream manga either. How do you imagine a "Bad Bakuman"?

What if they make a manga that is so similar to DN that the Ohba and Obata of his universe sue them? It will be hilarious. Or maybe that Hattori tells them that their new idea is too similar to DN. I wonder what would happen if they have to change all the setup for his new story because they realize it's too DeathNoteish.
