Favorite Science Fiction Anime Since 2008

Post here about your favorite science fiction anime of the last five years. Which anime are your favorite, and why did you enjoy them so much? Hard sci-fi, mecha, cyberpunk, and all sci-fi sub-genre are welcome. Please only discuss series that began on January 1, 2008 or later. Evangelion, Gundam, Cowboy Bebop, Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Code Geass, Gurren Laggan are great anime all, but we know already. This thread is meant for shows of more recent tender. Post about as many, or as few shows, as you'd like. Feel free to update, or add to, your list whenever you see fit.

• Steins;Gate: Minor pacing issues aside, one of the great masterpieces of the last five years. A great plot about the consequences of scientific inquiry, and learning to stay true to yourself. The characters are the highlight though. Quirky, idiosyncratic, and unique - the cast of Steins;Gate is almost the anime equivalent of Seinfeld.
• Redline: A pure adrenaline rush, featuring some of the best animation of the last ten years.
• Psycho-Pass: An anime about the limits of the state, free will, law and order that offers no easy answers. Where do we draw the line between freedom, technology, and security?

Btooom: *Takes a deep breath* One of the most intense Animes I've ever seen. It's about a real life game known as "Btooom" which is actually a murder game. The intensity of the fights, the characters, the plot all are on point.

hmm gintama is amazing but im not sure if it started before 2008 or not

i love nyarko so far, but i dont know if i love it enough to be my favorite

but pre-2008 i loved banner of the stars and crest of the stars, and gundam wing (not sure if mecha counts as sci fi)

but honestly i havent watched a ton of sci-fi stuff lately
