Well, the anime just solved the problem: Meleoron is not Jairo.
no, he is not
You don't really know that though. There is a ton of evidence saying that he is.
LOL. I had to laugh because this came up sooooo many times. ^^
But you know... this just doesnt fit in any way - and many of us came to this conclusion already.
Oh i just realised that this is the thread from 2011.

It's very clear that Melo is Jairo...the hoodie...not to mention that his power matches Gyro's upbringing and nature....to the extent that they were going to use it to kill the king. Also, Gon didn't even detct Gyro's presence. There had to be a reason Togashi pointed out that they never met...when they were in town.
The new anime hasn't even SHOWN Melo, not to mention they played the Gyro stuff slightly out of sequence.
It's possible they are the same brain but in 2 bodies. To say that Jairo is evil incarnate while Meleoron is the compassionate side. So when he was killed by the Queen, his split personality caused his conscience to consume 2 ants one in which his evil nature broke the bond the queen had over him and the other who seemed to have no care over what the King wanted rather his own objective in mind.
I'll say that they are the same person but of different spectrum of their potential personalities. Since it is plausible that his mind may have been so warped that he somehow manifested in the form of two ants.
