258. Seele Schneider
As Borat would say, this chapter was “very nice~.”
We haven’t had a fight that involved more than rudimentary strategy since Ikkaku fought with Eduardo way back in Volume 23, over a year ago. But thanks to Uryuu’s intellect, he was able to utilize the multifaceted sword-bow that is Seele Schneider efficiently and effectively, throwing back everything Chirucchi sent at him. My only concern was that it seemed to complement all of her attacks a little bit too well—but I’m still glad that Ishida’s style now extends beyond “Hirenkyaku + shooting a lot of arrows.”
We also got a bit more development of Chirucchi, where she showed her desperation to win after being pushed into a corner. Unlike with Doldooni, who seemed hell-bent only on becoming an Espada again, she was willing to put her all into beating Ishida simply because of her role as an Arrancar. That sense of duty helped flesh her out beyond the typical “arrogant bitch” stereotype she had been typecast into so far, as she was willing to permanently give up her complete released form in order to keep fighting.
At the very least, it helped give the fight some of the extra weight it needed.
Rating - 4/5
All I can say is: I agree with everything you wrote.
I liked this chapter a lot, I believe that this strategic fights are/were one of the plus of Bleach.
A fight much more good than that between Ichigo and Dordoni, even if probably less meaningful plotwise.
Yeah, the strategic fights are usually the most enjoyable ones. And I concur on the idea that this fight was less important than Ichigo vs. Doldooni, while more enjoyable--all this fight really did was show of Seele Schneider, just as Ishida's fight with Iceringer only showed off his new bow.Originally Posted by Luckas
But the fact that they aren't all that important doesn't mean they shouldn't be enjoyable to read.
Saint words. I don't know if this expression exist in englishOriginally Posted by gigantor21

Thanks for the review (I had to use a dictionary for a couple of words >.>; )
I also liked both the Seeleschneider and how Cirucci sacrificed her "Resurreccion"
Haha, sorry about that. I have a pretty pretentious way of writing...Originally Posted by Silhouette
Hopefully, I'll be able to write reviews for the chapters as soon as the scanlations come out from now on.
Oh no, I love the expressions and the writing style plus...I have to read something classier than the dialogs in manga >.>;
Thank you as always
I think many of us need that, and me too I like your writing style. Gigantor21.Originally Posted by Silhouette
