One Piece: Kaizoku Musou Features Multiplayer, PSN Support

PlayStation Japan has revealed One Piece: Kaizoku Musou (One Piece: Pirate Warriors in English) will be for one to two players! The type of multiplayer, however, has not yet been revealed. There has Four - pages of new one piece Kaizoku musou scans that shows a partner strike system in which Zoro takes the place of Luffy in combat. A tag team scenario, if you will.

In the Jump Festa Trailer, about 1:06 in, we see Luffy on-screen with Zoro and Nami. That’s 3 characters on screen at the same time so we wonder if two human players can play together with a computer teammate or if Nami is even playable. We’ve only seen Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, and Usopp as playable characters, but again, PlayStation Japan has said the game is for one to two players, so at the moment we’re not sure how multiplayer will work.

Additionally, PlayStation Network (PSN) support has been confirmed. There aren’t any details on how PSN will be utilized, but let’s all hope it’s not like Bleach: Soul Ignition, where PSN support meant players could download three free episodes.

Lastly, below are three recently released screenshots. They have actually been seen in some of the past scans, but we offer them to you again for your enjoyment!

    New scans:

One Piece PS3, One Piece: Kaizoku Musou, is the first One Piece game on the Sony PlayStation 3. It will cover One Piece Part 1 as well as some of the story contents of the One Piece timeskip. The game is in development by Omega Force and and will be published by Namco Bandai Games and Tecmo Koei in Japan on March 1, 2012. A European release is rumored, but no plans have been revealed for North America.

The game is coming in 1st March, 2012. One more month to go. Can't have patience. Planning to order it from PIJ at a cheaper price.

For those like me who can't take the ridiculously long buffering time for the trailer on the official website.
I've seen a lot of people complain about the graphics but the guy in the top comment makes a valid argument about it. Personally, I jizzed my pants when I saw this.

But in all seriousness...I cried tears of joy when I first found out about this game, it's what I've always prayed for. A combination of my most favorite anime/manga and game series. And PS3 exclusive to boot! Glad I bought one in 2010.

Namco Bandai Europe has already registered a trademark for it so overseas release in Europe seems likely at this point, but it's not 100% certain. Still, it's good news nonetheless.

The game's gonna take place from East Blue saga to New World saga, so it's gonna be a pretty long game. The longer the better, I say.
There will also be two game modes, Main Log Mode which will follow the main storyline and Another Log Mode which focuses on other characters and may lead to what-if scenarios.

Can visit koeiwarriors.co.uk for future info.

This is how I imagine how some Xbox people feel right about now.

I sooooooooooo want to play this games, it looks so perfect for what it tries to be. All the animations looks nice, Franky flying around, Usopps fall after a big attack, bouncy bust from Nami and the whole first half of the manga, could it be any better? ... alternative versions and fights, sign me up!

    Re: One Piece: Kaizoku Musou

Why would you to destroy it with a dub? Oo

The asian and japanese versions aren't region protected, so you could import it, if no eu/us is planed and for questions gamefaqs.com will be available. Fighting games normally don't need much speech comprehension, playing through Berserk with no possibility to save was one hell of a marathon. XD

I think a Dynasty Warriors (beat em' up) type game is perfect for One Piece considering there are always so many marines or pirates that the Straw Hats beat up. I can't wait to buy this game. Ideally, I would love to have the game Japanese dubbed with English subbed. If not, I will be somewhat ok with English dubbed. It will be Epic to play as Luffy and Zoro. I would love to play as Chopper for fun to mess around.

I won't mind if it's dubbed so long as there's an option to pick japanese voices and english subtitles like they did with Bleach: Soul Resurreccion. I'm not a dub hater per say, but the only english dub I think is absolutely horrid is One Piece. Out of all the english voice actors for One Piece the only one I mildly approve of is Zoro's.

    As for playable characters, here's a list;

All of the Straw Hats will be playable so you can mess around with Chopper as much as you want.

Other confirmed playable characters (so far) are; Whitebeard, Portgas D. Ace, Jinbe and Boa Hancock. I'm sure the list will keep growing but so far those are the only other confirmed playable characters.

    Re: One Piece: Kaizoku Musou

Just dropping the news. Scamco made a HUGE hit with this game... 655,774 copies sold in the first week.

That's more than Final Fantasy XIII-2 in it's first week on BOTH PS3 and Xbox 360 on Christmas sales... ö_Ö
