Or he didn't find the place he would give them in the story yet. Anyway there a lot of other small flashbacks in the stories that don't get a full chapter (Buggy,Hancock, Lucci...). I guess Hodi one, if there is any will be one of those. We already had the arc Flashback.

in the next cover we should see the characters of skypea arc. I want to know what the monkeys and cricket are doing and if their bounties have increased,but since wapol was in the covers too,although he had a different miniadventures later,I guess we will see mr.5,mr.4 and the ladies(goldenweek,merry christmas,lassìu ecc.).

I will give Hodi a chance depending on his past. And Oda doesn't really know how to make us pity villains (unlike Kubo who's truly a master on that field)

I only came to this thread to say that i didn't really enjoy this chapter. It isn't something new, since this arc has been very poor, basically because the evil characters are lame, the story has been dragging by Oda at some points (there were really some poor, really poor moments) and though i thought that this chapter was just boring ... i voted for awful since it has been like this since this arc has started.

Let's see what happens on the next chapters

Well, this arc hasn't been as eventful as other arcs but we can't possibly expect every single arc
to top the war arc since that is the climate of part 1. I guess with high expectations comes disappointment.

Anyway, I know how people wants hodi to be done with but I think oda wants to touch on the most important thing in the arc,
the fishmen and humans relationship. Oda wants to use this arc to solve the fishmen racism in the op world and what better way than via Hodi, an insane fishmen that discriminates humans so much?
I might say that though, but I don't really expect hodi to do a 180 degree percent villain change..that doesn't happen in one piece.
Luffy will probably do something that will change the entire perspective of fishmen.

The bad thing is the unnecessary tension and what feels like dragging, doesn't make us get closer to the core of this arc sooner so yeah,
this arc can easily last till next year or till the middle of next year.
and if there is color spread...oda will probably do the usual strawhats hanging out.

Is the pacing of this chapter does seem a little off? Or is it we just want to see Hody get trashed, see the other Straw hats fight and move on to the New World with island where lighting falls like rain? OR maybe ODA has writers block

I personally don't like the idea of Hody turning good, it nice to see a bad character who irritates you while you read the manga, but when you turn him into a good character depending on his past it somewhat ruins the mood of the story. I wan't Hody to remain evil, however considering its one piece and how good Oda is it will most likely turn out to be that Hody turns good and ends up saving everyone and dying in the process(hates this scenario).

If it happens that hodi did turn out good while the arc is running it wud be for the first time in OP that the main villain of the arc turn out gud and avoid the beating/defeat from luffy... and i see it as so "not happening" ///

Redemption of arc- For me this arc could only be redeemed if it plays a major role in the overall story (i.e. either a crew member.. some msg from Roger.. appearance of big mama or crew member.. history lesson from robin etc) However till now there is no clue that this arc will play any major role in the story but the island...

He can't turn out good, he may have a "good" reason for his hate, but he can't become good, not in the short time the strawhats stay there till they get to the next island. Hody's already done enough evil deeds to be imprisoned forever, but with Shirahoshi taking over her mothers ideals even forgiveness may be possible, but redemption from his side? lol

I've been wondering this for now.... Will Hodi go to prison in FI island or to a marine prison? FI island seems to be part of the WG, but we haven't seen one marine, there neither a base. Marines helped Alabasta with Croco, shouldn't being allied with them grant some help in a situation like this? I don't think the royal family would want Hodi in their prison or even in their country...

He might become an outcast, him and all his terrorist friends when this arc is over. Prison on FI is plausible, but there's a chance that they all die or get into a crippled state from overusage of ES. No chance of them getting in Impel down or anything, I don't even think the WG knows about the conflicts on FI yet.

On a side note. I think Kouribou will show up right when Hodi and friends gets defeated then instantly get knocked out by the monster trio, making him release the mermaids he's stolen.

The solution that might seem more OP like and more reasonable is that luffy beats hodi so hard , that hodi loses his memory and looks and see how good luffy is which will "reprogram" his hate to humans -to loving humans.

not to die? -.- if caribo wants to survive he has to stop noah,absorbing it,obviously. it wouldn't make him a hero who cares to save people but just a bastard who thinks just about himself and who wants to survive no matter what(he even prayed the SH to believe that he was just a slave of his own crew...).
