I have decided to lower my translation speed to a maximum of 2 months per volume. I spent only 2 days per week at home, at first when it took 1 month per volume it was quite hectic at times, i then slow down to 1 and a half month. It was better but i decided that i wanted a longer rest period and so that's how i came to this decision.

I realized I made another naming mistake >.> . Chen Dai Xin is supposed to be Chen Dai Xiu. It was by accident that i realized it. Because it was a long time since his character appeared , i went to look at my handwritten character list and damn the U was written like a N and all this while i used the N and instead of the U >.>

- Meng Qi He is moving in the forest. He camouflages himself by using dye made of crushed tree leaves and fruits on his body as well as using ashes and charcoal to draw stripes on his body. By doing this he even manages to hide himself from the animals' keen sense of smell. He went ahead to scout the front to make sure that there are no enemies before heading back to his camp telling his group ( consisting of 19 bandits and Ling Lan. Most of the bandits are carrying very heavy stuff) to move ahead . Ling Lan is using her nodachi as a walking stick. Meng Qi He knows his men well, were it to be any other day, his men will definitely complain or slow down a little while carrying such heavy stuff up the mountains. But right now not a single one of the them wants to show any signs of weaknesses in front of a lady. Qi He remembers yesterday's feeling when he returned to Lu Ling. 1 year ago, he left without anyone bidding him farewell. And yesterday the citizen opened the gates and welcome Qi He into the city, he looked into their eyes and saw gratitude . This is the first time Qi He feels so respected and its all thanks to Wang Shou Ren. In Shou Ren's battle strategy ,Qi He's group is the 1 in charge of the most important assault . Heading up the mountain isn't easy, in just 1 hour 1 bandit injured his leg and is unable to walk . The group left him behind and advance. As Qi He is heading up the mountain with his group, Ling Lan is keeping up with him and he is surprised at her willpower. Ling Lan is thinking about Jing Lie. Back then when she knows that because of the battle plan, she and Jing Lie are to go separate ways, she insists on following Jing Lie. Jing Lie tells her not to be stubborn, that this time hundreds of lives are on their hands. Ling Lan wanted to retort saying that hundreds of lives are not as important as his . Jing Lie tells her that if she hopes that he will be safe and sound , she must complete the mission that she was given to inflict great damage to the enemy . This way the danger on his side will be lesser.

- Wang Shou Ren and his volunteer army( a total of 600 + people. Consists of 80 + bandits, people from Po Men Lui Jian and 500+ citizens and nearby villagers) have occupied a village at the bottom of the mountain.

- Back in Pure Lotus Temple. WDK is inspecting the manufacturing of Fang Xian Shan. WDK kidnapped 18 ladies and assign them the ones manufacturing Fang Xian Shan. It takes 3 months to make the Fang Xian Shan ( the deadly poison) . After many months of experimenting on the citizens of Lu Ling, WDK is confident that this batch of Fang Xian is very similar to the Wu Yi Cult's original. Even though there is a upcoming battle, WDK did not stop the production as the shipment of the drugs is near. He is thinking on how to use these drugs to increase his capital. One of his lackeys report that the enemies' forces have gathered at the foot of the mountain. WDK is surprised that his enemies did not rush up immediately after gathering at the foot of the mountain. He thinks that their leader is anxious but not in disarray. Not to mention their leader is able to gather so much man power in just half a day. WDK ponders at the identity of their leader; if it is the man who killed Xin Shu (Jing Lie) or one of the 'swordsmen'. WDK tells his lackey that they will have to defend the entrance and wait for the enemy. WDK feels that ever since yesterday there is something wrong with Yao Hua ; usually she will personally kill 1 or 2 people so as to prevent the lackeys from thinking that she has become soft but now she told the lackeys to settle the killing-of-the-hostages situation by themselves.

- Yao Hua is holding on to Jing Lie's blade. Her hand is trembling, her black eye bags are forming and she feels horrible ; the effects of not taking Zhao Ling Dan for 1 day. She knows that all she has to do is to take the drug to stop the pain . But she resists taking it. Strangely she feels that although she hasn't take Zhao Ling Dan for 1 day, she feels clear headed as if she is suddenly thinking of many things. She walks out and realizes that another hostage has been killed. All these years of following WDK, she never had any feelings when it comes to killing people but at this moment a lot of thoughts are surfacing in her head. She thinks about Jing Lie, about the people at Chu Lang Sect. She never regretted what she did in the past, she keeps on telling herself that she is the victim, that she only has killing as her only skill. If she doesn't kill people how would she survive? That's when she suddenly realized : when did she transform from a victim to someone who victimize others? She has always been a wolf who seeks to survive in the wilderness. But now she realizes that she doesn't know when did she became a dog raised by another to bite others. She wonder how would Jing Lie see her as. She is confused and wishes to escape all of these. Just as she wants to stop thinking all of these and to eat 1 Zhao Ling Dan, the sentries sound off the alarm that their enemies are coming . Hearing the alarm rouses the not-admitting-defeat nature of hers. She doesn't take the drug and instead picks up her blade. She decides that she wants to keep her clear headedness and see Jing Lie again. She wants to know what feelings she has towards Jing Lie.

- Wang Shou Ren stations his army a certain distance in front of the entrance to stay out of the poison arrows' distance. The road to the entrance is narrow ,at most only 6 men can stay side by side to attack. There is very little lighting past the entrance, Shou Ren thinks that it's because WDK doesn't want them to know the disposition of his troops. Shou Ren orders his troops to use their shield to cover their lighting (fire torch) so as to prevent the enemy from seeing clearly . He signals for the assault to begin. Each of the bandits at the front line are carrying a wooden shield. They advance before stopping around 50 feet away from the entrance. As Shou Ren expected, they are lined up like a half-moon shape with 3 groups defending the entrance. Yuan Xing then steps out imitating as Da Yuan Man Shen Wang ( something like Big Satisfactory Sacred King ) , he wears the 5 colored WDK's men's clothing, shaves his head and has tattoos on his face like that of WDK's. Yuan Xing claims to be from Wu Yi Cult and is here to preach his religion and asks WDK's men to kneel down. Yuan Xing and the bandits start singing Wu Yi Cult song ( Jing Lie heard it the day before ) .1 to 2 of WDK Lackeys kneel down as told. WDK then orders his men to kill the imposter. Yuan Xing drops the fire torch that he is holding and as WDK men has their vision blacked out for a while, he runs all the way to the entrance. The WDK men in the centre of the formation shoots their arrow at Yuan Xing, but he uses his armor to block and rushes forward. Previously Shou Ren told Yuan Xing that the group at the left and right of the formation won't use their poison arrows on him as they may injure their own forces. Yuan Xing uses his rod and attacks. Against 5 incoming spear attacks , Yuan Xing uses Jie Xiang method imagining himself to be made of solid steel. He batters away 2 spear attacks and tanks the other 3 attacks with his armor. As more WDK men starts to surround Yuan Xing, Yan Heng appears behind Yuan Xing to aid him. While Yan Heng concentrates on defending Yuan Xing's right side , he leaves his back open. That's when Tong Qing appears to aid them both. Tong Qing remembers Fei Hong's advice : when it comes to fighting a group of people ,do not stab too deep into the enemy , as she isn't very physically strong, she may not be able to deal with the next person in time should she stabs her sword too deep into the previous enemy. She dodges the 1st enemy before slicing his right knee's joint. She blocks the 2nd enemy attack before slashing his throat. A 3rd enemy rushes forward and attacks Tong Qing. She is able to dodge but by doing so would expose Yuan Xing and Yan Heng's back. So she does a vertical slash to block . It's a pity the enemy did not put pressure on the attack, should he do that he would have force Tong Qing's sword backwards towards her head. However he panics after seeing 2 of his friends falling so quickly and intents to pull back his blade to protect himself. She does a feint and stabs into the enemy's throat. Together the 3 of them forces the centre group to fall back 2 steps. Not wanting to create a gap in the half moon formation, the group at the left and the right follow suit and take steps backwards. Some bandits then rushes forward to help the 3 of them . After a while Fei Hong uses ' Song Hun Flying Blade' technique to help out. Actually when Tong Qing and Yan Heng arrived earlier to help Yuan Xing out , Fei Hong already used his iron chain to get up to the top of the entrance gate observing and striking when their formation is in danger. Fei Hong gets down and helps out. Yan Heng did as Shou Ren instructed earlier on and shouts out that he was the one who harmed WDK yesterday. Though the WDK lackeys don't fully believe his words, they start to waver. More bandits start to arrive. Together they form a 3 way scratch awl formation. Shou Ren then lead the rest of his forces forward towards the entrance. WDK is fuming with rage as he watches his enemies start to push his forces back. According to military strategy WDK should abandon his plan of having the left and right group to surround the enemy and instead form a semi slanting formation and tank the enemy's assault while attacking one of their sides. Or his troops could lure the enemy deeper inside with the left and right groups cutting off the enemies in the front from the back as they rush forward. However WDK has never studied military tactics and so far he formed his half moon formation based on his instincts, not to mention the WDK men have never work together in battles. WDK orders his men to fire their poison arrows. (Now that the enemy is at the center, WDK men will have no worries about shooting their own people) Despite using shields there are some bandits who are hit, after all Shou Ren just came up with this plan today and they have never practice such formation before . The left and right group exhausted their poison arrows . Yuan Xing & co are fighting in the front and without the support from the back they would become a small fighting force isolated from the rest. The enemy group in the centre starts to weaken. WDK decides to enter the battlefield himself. Before he could do that, he realizes that all of a sudden it is too bright. He turns around and sees that the temple is on fire.

-Ling Lan , Meng Qi He and his team of bandits have reached the peak of the cliff. The bandits throws down jars full of oil. And Ling Lan lights up her arrows with fire and shoot it downwards at the temple. There are only a few WDK lackeys defending the temple as WDK would have never expected to be attacked from the back. As a WDK lackey attempts to put out the fire, Ling Lan shoots a arrow at him, lighting him up with fire and killing him. Even though the journey up the mountain was very tough , the moment everyone saw the temple on fire they felt that the journey was worth it. WDK lackeys wanted the hostages to put out the fire, but the hostages were tied tight. There wouldn't be enough time should the WDK lackeys start untying them, so they rush forward to try and put out the fire. Ling Lan & co start to descend down the cliff.

- WDK's troops' moral start to waver as they start thinking what if they are attacked from the rear. Shou Ren true purpose of the fire is not to burn the temple but the enemies' resolve. As WDK's troops are distracted by the fire, Yuan Xing & co start pushing forward. WDK is very angry, in the temple is his stock of Fang Shi Xian. And now he has lost not only Fang Shi Xian but also the money that could have been earned. Shou Ren gives the order for his forces to attack. The bandits drop their shields and wield their weapons and attack. As WDK approaches the battlefield Yuan Xing, Fei Hong and Yan Heng can feel his killing aura. WDK and Yuan Xing both attacks each other. Yuan Xing's rod is longer than WDK's sword, but due to WDK's size, it seems that his sword will stab Yuan Xing's right eye first. Yuan Xing turns his head to the right and pulls back his attack and uses his rod to intercept WDK's attack. WDK's attack scraps Yuan Xing's face armor. WDK's horse seems unaffected and it runs past Yuan Xing. Yan Heng wants to help out but Yuan Xing tells him and Fei Hong to help the bandits out. So far 7-8 bandits have fallen, and on WDK's side only 1-2 men have been killed. Not wanting any more bandits to be sacrificed , Yan Heng rushes forward to help the bandits out. The appearance of Yan Heng causes WDK men to worry. The people in the frontlines start to take a few steps backwards . Fei Hong and Tong Qing also join in the fray and help out. WDK realize that by killing just one of Po Men Liu Jian, it will throw the others in disarray. WDK fools Yuan Xing by thinking that he will attack but he just maintained his attack stance and did not attack, WDK's purpose is to have Yuan Xing concentrate on him. There are a few WDK lackeys that are around him that did not fight and as a result they did not attract attention. Yao Hua is one of them. She quickly runs forward and slashes at Yuan Xing. Yuan Xing never expected that there would be such a powerful enemy among WDK lackeys, even though previously he concentrated fully on WDK, his battle reflexes as a result of training 17 years at Shaolin Temple is already too deeply embedded in him. He jumps and does a horizontal block. Yuan Xing's rod and Yao Hua's blade clash causing him to fly back. WDK gets down his horse and uses 'Wudang Flying Dragon Sword' technique to attack Yuan Xing. Yuan Xing uses all his strength to twist in midair, WDK's sword impales his right collarbone. Fei Hong , Yan Heng and Tong Qing just noticed what happened but they are unable to rush forward to help out as they are too deeply in the battle formation against WDK lackeys. 4 bandits rush forward to shield Yuan Xing . 3 died, while 1 loses his palm. As WDK moves towards Yuan Xing, Jing Lie arrives on Xin Shu's horse and throws Mei Xin Shu's chain at WDK. WDK blocks the attack. Jing Lie lets go of the chain after throwing it, draws a blade and clashes it against WDK's sword. The blade Jing Lie is using is just a old blade found in Lu Ling's government office. Part of the blade get sliced off. Immediately after the slash, he throws the remaining part of the blade at WDK. WDK is shocked by this move but barely manages to block it with his sword. WDK notices there isn't any time lag in Jing Lie's slash and throw attack and deduces that Jing Lie has already calculated the part where his blade will get sliced off. Jing Lie's late arrival is part of Shou Ren's plan ; once Yuan Xing breaks in to the enemy's centre formation, Jing Lie is to arrive on horse and create havoc. As of this moment Shou Ren and the rest of his army (the citizens of Lu Ling) arrive at the centre of the formation. He has already used up all of his battle strategy , he has already created as much advantages as he can for his forces and now all that is left is to depend on everyone's strength to win. Yan Heng arrives beside Yuan Xing. Yao Hua looks at Jing Lie. He is different from yesterday, he no longer reminds her of her ex lover. But now he is giving off a feeling that shudders her spirit; this is the first time she has seen someone who is capable of fighting against WDK so easily. Jing Lie looks at Yao Hua and tells her that she owes him something which he will take back later. She is a little happy that he remembers her. WDK unwraps the chain that is on his sword. Right now nothing is more important than killing Jing Lie. He wonders why Jing Lie does not gets off the horse, is it because he specialize in fighting on horses? Or he is concealing some kind of weakness? Previously WDK is abit anxious to remedy his troops' formation which is why he has been abit reckless when attacking but now he is focused on this battle and is more dangerous than before.

- The bandits who descended down the cliff start saving ladies from the temple. Ling Lan runs towards Jing Lie's direction. WDK says that he will put amulets on Po Men Liu Jian's severed head and have them become slaves to his men who died in the netherworld. Jing Lie tells him to save his stupid words to his men. WDK glances at Yao Hua , as WDK was talking he was making some secret sign movements(hand movements) that only Yao Hua understands. WDK orders Yao Hua to attack together ; to attack Jing Lie's horse. Yao Hua acknowledges. This is the first time they are using such secret sign movements, even Si Dao and Er Han don't know about it. Yao Hua understands WDK's plan :there are 5 enemies in front of them , they are to gang 2 on 1 and quickly get rid of them 1 by 1. WDK plans to get rid of Jing Lie who looks to be the strongest . WDK starts wavering the tip of his sword, the plan is to attack after 7 beats. He wavers the tip of his sword 4 times, letting the both of them count the last 3 beats in their hearts. However at the 6th beat, WDK suddenly rushes towards Yan Heng and Yuan Xing, Yao Hua don't know his intention but decide to stick to the battle plan given earlier. Jing Lie moves forward to intercept. After 7 beats , Yao Hua rushes forward to slash at Jing Lie's horse. WDK suddenly stops and uses the force generated in the opposite direction to fall back and turns around to run towards Jing Lie before attacking Jing Lie. WDK deduces that it is very possible the Jing Lie has problems with his legs after seeing his face wrapped with bandages and that he has been fighting on the horse. Feeling that victory is on his side, WDK uses 'Wudang Flying Dragon Sword' technique . But Jing Lie dodges ; Jing Lie hangs on to the right side of the horse by hooking his leg on the saddle and attacks Yao Hua. Yao Hua realizes that should she finish her attack on her horse , she will get slashed in the face. She then realizes that all this while Jing Lie have been observing her and knows about her communication with WDK through the secret movements. She manages to dodge the attack by kneeling on the floor and turning her head to the left .Jing Lie initially thought that his attack would definitely hit and admires Yao Hua for dodging. She is the strongest woman he has ever met other then Ling Lan. Like what he did against WDK earlier, he threw the blade at Yao Hua. Jing Lie is good at using 2 blades to attack, but now that he can only use 1 hand he thought of the idea of using Kong Tong Sect's 'Flying Method' to attack the enemy. WDK is 'flying' pass where Jing Lie previously was. Because of the ' Wudang Flying Dragon Sword' Technique WDK cannot change his moves once used, but still he manages to kick the back of the horse. Jing Lie flies off the horse's back. Jing Lie has his own blade tied to a rope, in case the situation arises when he gets thrown off the horse he can still retrieve his blade. Other than that he has a small blade on him. Yao Hua attacks Jing lie.

- Fei Hong kills 3 WDK lackeys in 2-3 blinks of an eye. Initially he feels young again, he feels as if he went back to his former days of getting rid of bandits. Even the WDK lackeys are losing morale after seeing him fight. But the truth is , now he feels tired and is concealing it. WDK lackeys are seeing that their enemy have got 100 + people who have filled up the entrance, but they don't know that the only ones who can truly fight are the bandits. There are only around 40 bandits left. Meng Qi He and fellow bandits save the remaining hostages. Qi He kills 1 WDK lackey and slashes another's rib causing him to bleed until he dies.

- By the time Jing Lie spins and gets his blade to his hand, he doesn't have time to unsheathe the blade to block Yao Hua's vertical slash. She uses her left hand to adds pressure to her slash . Jing Lie can only fall back step by step since his right leg is unable to bend after putting on armor , not to mention he is unable to stand up properly due to his injuries. As a result it exposes the fact that his knee has been injured. WDK not wanting to get rid of such a good chance he attacks Jing Lie. Yan Heng intercepts him. Yan Heng uses 'Qiong Cang Po' (which in the last time manages to overwhelm WDK), with his body and sword as one a strange illusion manifested in his mind : a sensation of something in the clouds . With an improvement of his skills , it also drives his psyche to an even higher level. The last time WDK failed to resist 'Qiong Cang Po' was because his 'Wudang Force Sword' technique wasn't strong enough. This time round he won't make the same mistake. He uses 'Tai Ji Sword' technique's ' Yin Xing Luo Kong' to counter. Through their last encounter Yan Heng knows that he doesn't know how to use 'Shaking Scales' just like how his master used it to counter Tai Ji . And so he puts everything in his 'Qiong Cang Po' attack. WDK was just about to guide 'Qiong Cang Po' to the ground at the side and kill Yan Heng when suddenly he realizes that he can't seem to move the attack. It seems Yan Heng's attack is stronger than he has anticipated. He is surprised by how strong Yan Heng has become in such a short period of time. Even though he manages to guide 'Qiong Cang Po' to the side, Yan Heng's attack is advancing towards WDK's left shoulder. He is unsure if he can guide Yan Heng's attack away. In the last moment he decides not to take this risk and changes his sword style from soft to hard and takes on the attack and at the same time he relaxes his legs borrowing the power of 'Qiong Cang Po' to step backwards 2 steps. Yan Heng uses Hu Pi (for those who forgot, its his shorter sword) to attack WDK's calf. For a large man like WDK, his lower body is definitely his weakness. Such an attack make sense, if Jing Lie is here he will definitely do the same thing. The difference is that Jing Lie will use his wisdom and experience to do so while Yan Heng depends on his intuition. WDK uses 'Wudang Line Sword' technique's evasive footsteps and at the same time uses 'Ru Di Jin Zhen' (Golden Needle Into the Ground)to attack Yan Heng. Yuan Xing then arrives using his rod to block that attack. Even though before this battle Yan Heng has never fight or train together with Yuan Xing , he knows that its Yuan Xing who is helping him out the moment he heard the sound of the wind from his back. And through the battle earlier on he really trusts Yuan Xing's capabilities and boldly attacks WDK's calf with his both swords without blocking or dodging the incoming attack. WDK jumps backwards wanting to look at the situation first before acting.

- On Yao Hua's side, she manages to push Jing Lie's blade to his chest . After taking 2 steps backwards he falls to the ground. Before Yao Hua could continue her attack, Ling Lan fires 2 arrows forcing Yao Hua away from her. Ling Lan doesn't care about her hip pain and is running towards them . From these 2 covering fire, Yao Hua guesses that Jing Lie's relationship with Ling Lan isn't shallow. WDK feels that something isn't right, he sees that Fei Hong is near the position where he steps back. He turns into another direction and sees Tong Qing in that direction. He realizes that he has been surrounded by his enemies. He can't believe that he made a miscalculation. If he was still the him that he was on Wudang, he would definitely not get himself caught in such circumstances, he would have escape before allowing himself to get surrounded. It seems that he has gotten used of his tyranny that his response to danger has dulled. He looks at the battlefield, he sees that there are lesser and lesser of his men on the battlefield. They are no longer in battle formation, they have been cut off into smaller groups. Many of Lu Ling citizens are gathering their courage to attack WDK lackeys. The question for WDK now is not if he can win or not , but rather if he can survive or not . He decides to escape before Po Men Liu Jian closes in on him, he heads towards Tong Qing's direction thinking that she is the weakest. Seeing WDK heading towards her, her face loses color , she looks afraid as she lifts up her sword to attack him. He knows that an attack from someone who is flustered is easy to deal with. He wanted to wait till her arm fully extend before cutting her down. But her sword stops at the side of her shoulder and has yet to attack; Tong Qing faked the panicked look to bluff WDK. She then proceeds to attack. He manages to react in time and uses 'Wudang Force Sword' technique to attack her sword. But her sword extended a few inches before stopping , which is her 2nd feint in a row. Like Fei Hong observed, Tong Qing is very talented, she managed to use 'Ban Shou Yi Xin' to fool a great sword master like WDK. WDK has already thrust out his sword with no point of return. He was thinking : " let's see if you can block this?" He decides to make the best out of a mistake and puts more strength on his attack changing the course of his attack to her face. That's when Tong Qing really attacked, she is aiming for his wrist by using 'Zhui Xing Jie Mai' . WDK is very surprised that the profound 'Wudang Form Sword' technique is being used by a little girl . He forcefully jumps back before jumping up ; Fei Hong throws up his blade and throws a flying blade at WDK . Fei Hong then grabs his blade in the mid air and together with Yan Heng do a pincer attack on WDK. Yan Heng uses 'Yuan Suan Dual Sword' technique's 'Chu Yun Ci' ; using Hu Pi to protect his abdomen while using Long Ji to attack from the top. At the same time using 'Shuang Wo Sword' technique's immense strength. Yan Heng is more and more able to control the way of combining different Qing Cheng Sect sword techniques. This battle is forcing Yan Heng to master Qing Cheng Sect's sword techniques just like how 30 years ago He Zi Sheng is experiencing his battle with Chuan Xi Qun Gui, though the Yan Heng now is younger then the He Zi Sheng at that time. WDK ducks under Fei Hong's attack and batters away Long Ji. Yan Heng immediately uses Hu Pi to slash at WDK's head. WDK extends his left arm and grabs Yan Heng's wrist using 'Tai Ji Fist' . Tai Ji emphasize on sensing the flow of force ,it is alot harder to sense it through a weapon then on one own hands. WDK's Tai Ji isn't refined when it comes to using it on swords , which is why earlier he got forced back by Yan Heng's 'Qiong Cang Po'. WDK pulls Yan Heng's left elbow downwards causing alot of pain and pressure, Yan Heng reacts fast by not resisting and gets thrown on the ground. Yuan Xing attacks WDK and he blocks it without even seeing. After getting thrown on the ground many of Yan Heng's wounds open up. Ignoring them , he thrust Long Ji at WDK's hand. WDK grabs hold of Yuan Xing's rod while using his other hand with the sword to slash at Yuan Xing's face. Yuan Xing lets go of his rod and dodges the attack. Using 'Tai Ji Fist' on his left hand and his sword on his right is the last secret technique that WDK hasn't used since he left Mt Wudang. Back on Mt Wudang he used this technique to beat many of his comrades. Bing Ya Div's Jiang Yun Lan is inspired by his this technique , however his Tai Ji talent isn't very high and can only use seizing techniques , with his armored hand claws his prowess lose to WDK only by a bit. However ingenious this technique is, he cannot fight 6 people. Initially when he got the rod he wanted to guide the incoming attack downwards and deal the killing blow to Yan Heng. However he moves away from Yan Heng after seeing Ling Lan's arrow flying towards him. The arrow pierces through his right ear. He calls out to Yao Hua, this is the 1st time he is calling for help so frantically. Yao Hua attacks Fei Hong who was trying to attack WDK. Fei Hong dodges. WDK moves towards Yao Hua wanting the both of them to cover each other. But Yao Hua rushes towards Ling Lan attacking her. However just as Yao Hua's blade is about to reach her body, she shoots an arrow without thinking. Her bow gets slashed into half, however her arrow hits Yao Hua's right shoulder causing her to fall back and her blade to fly out of her hand. Ling Lan dodges the flying blade.

-Yuan Xing uses 'Leopard Punch' to attack WDK's rib, Fei Hong slashes at his back, at the back of his right side is Tong Qing attacking the back of his waist and at the back of his left side is Yan Heng attacking his head. All 4 attacks have block WDK's escape routes. In that moment WDK thinks of the man trapped on Mt Wudang and that he cannot die before meeting him. He draws in his chest and straightens his back, he forcibly pulls back his abdomen like that of a cat causing Yuan Xing's attack to miss by a inch. He thrust the rod on his left hand at Fei Hong's chest thus intercepting the attack. He positions his sword over his head in a horizontal manner blocking Yan Heng's attack. Tong Qing's sword momentarily stabs into the his hip before kicking her right shoulder causing her to fall back. After dealing with the 4 attacks, WDK cannot using his Qing Gong to move. Jing Lie has been waiting for this moment , he has already drop his own blade and draws a smaller blade. He bends his left leg , leans his body forward ,he relaxes the arm that is holding on to the blade till it is hanging downwards. After kicking Tong Qing, WDK gets ready to escape from the opening where Tong Qing previously was. Jing Lie jumps and spins combining both forces together to chop towards WDK. WDK realizes Jing Lie attack and sweeps his sword at Jing Lie. But it's already too late , the blade is simply too fast and strong that WDK doesn't have time to use force to resist the attack. As result the blade slices his right thigh causing him to fall down. Jing Lie falls on the ground uncontrollably, his left shoulder feels as if someone uses a large needle to insert into it. Even though he is in great pain, he is still smiling. After falling down WDK rolls away panicking, frantically wavering his sword around like a crazy person. So far in his fight against Po Men Liu Jian he expects to turn the tide because he believes in his Qing Gong, to be able to escape in the nick of time. He never expected Jing Lie's attack to wound his leg , no matter how arrogant he normally is, he is unable to suppress the chilliness in his heart. Yan Heng attacks him, he uses his palm to meet Long Ji while shouting "wait, wait". Because of the palm obstructing , Long Ji only scraps WDK's neck. WDK then sits upright on the floor and attacks Yan Heng, forcing him back. Bending his yet injured left leg and relying on his upper body strength he manages to force Yan Heng's attack back by using 'Wudang Form Sword' technique. In the novel, when WDK is sitting down , he isn't shorter than Yan Heng by very much, that's how tall he is. Even though WDK is a enemy, Jing Lie sighs in admiration, he feels that WDK is certainly a rare swordsman. WDK is starting to lose more blood. Tong Qing gets up and transfer her sword to her left hand wanting to attack WDK. But she is mesmerized by WDK's 'Zhui Xing Jie Mai'. Back at Xi An , she has seen Yao Lian Zhou used it once and therefore learned abit of it. And now she has the chance to observe it again , her desire to seek out this technique in her heart is far greater than her hatred . And so she concentrates fully on observing WDK's 'Zhui Xing Jie Mai'. Fei Hong rushes forward to slash WDK. Knowing that he cannot withstand this attack, he throws his sword at Yan Heng who dodges it, he uses his hands and his uninjured leg to crawl backwards in a speed that will not lose to average men running speed. After extending some distance between him and his enemies, he takes out a red wooden whistle and threatens them that if they come forward all the 400 people will all die. Yuan Xing wants to kill WDK but Fei Hong stops him.

Fei Hong : What did you say?
WDK: As long as i blow this, the 400 people there will die.
Qi He : Don't listen to his nonsense. I have already killed all of the guards guarding the hostages.
At this moment only 8 WDK lackeys remain.
WDK: You only bother hurrying here, you didn't have time to untie those hostages right?
Qi He runs back. And unties 1 of the hostage , that hostage looks panic stricken. Tang Ba (1 of the bandits) looks around and sees a person dressed in farmer clothing but his hands and legs are not tied . His face looks white and it's the after effects of using drugs. Qi He sees that he is holding on to a pill.
WDK: I have hidden 2 men among the hostages, they are like the human dog that you( Jing Lie) have killed. Upon hearing this whistle they will crush the Yun Lin Sha (the poison ).
Tong Qing : heh do you think you can live just because of a few lies? If you had such a powerful move you could have used it earlier on .
Jing Lie : Because not only do we want to kill him, he wants to kill us as well and its best by the sword in his hand.
WDK strips off part of his clothing to bandage his wound.
WDK: Let me go and i will let those people go, how about it?
Citizens of Lu Ling : N-no! No way!
The citizens are shouting, some wants to kill WDK while some don't want to sacrifice the lives of the hostages. Shou Ren asks the citizens to think about why there are those among them who have died. How different would they be from WDK lackeys if all they think about is their own safety and not about others. He tells them to look at Po Men Liu Jian , at the strangers who risk their lives for them . He tells them to look at themselves and see if they are worthy enough to be saved by Po Men Liu Jian. WDK realizes that Shou Ren was faking himself as a swordsmen in the battle yesterday. WDK orders his men to gather the horses that are roaming around. Jing Lie looks at Yao Hua and tells her that 1 day he will definitely take back the knife that he left with her. Yao Hua looks at Jing Lie and Ling Lan, she wonders why has she fallen to such a situation, why can't she have freedom like them . After Yao Hua, WDK and his men got on their horses , he orders his men to slaughter the rest of the horses. He tells Shou Ren that the 2 lackeys that he has among the hostages only listens to his command, as long as they are not touched they will remain still. And when daylight comes, the drug will breakout in their body. By the time Shou Ren forces untie the hostages he should be at the bottom of the mountain (previously he ordered his forces to tie the hostages as complex as they can). 1 citizen is worried that WDK will blow his whistle the moment he exit the gate. Fei Hong replies saying that they cannot move very fast until they reach flat land ; the road down is steep and full of rocks. Fei Hong and Ling Lan is watching them , should they do anything funny Fei Hong will throw his flying blade and Ling Lan will shoot her arrow at their horses. WDK and his forces left. Shou Ren forces found Han Shi Zi ( the legendary guy who sharpens weapons) and rescues him. The citizens of Lu Ling surrounds Po Men Liu Jian and Shou Ren and kowtow to them.

-4 days after the battle at the temple. Han Shi Zi is looking at Po Men Liu Jian's weapons and is very excited. He plans to grind and sharpens some of them . He tells Tong Qing that her Jing Wu sword doesn't suit her and so he picks out 1 sword and gives it to her. He says that it belongs to a chivalrous person who was killed by WDK, he doesn't know its name and names it the Xun Feng Sword. Xun Feng sword is lighter then Jing Wu sword and from the shape of the blade's edge she can tell that the main thing about the sword is its sharp tip. She feels that this sword suits her fighting style well. Shi Zi isn't interested in Fei Hong's flying blade. Yuan Xing is bored since he uses a rod and it can't be sharpened. Shi Zi says that it will take at least 6 months to finish all these sharpening. Po Men Liu Jian agrees to stay for 6 months. 10 days later, Ling Lan and Jing Lie visit Jiu Niu's grave. On their way back Jing Lie hold Ling Lan's hand before they both get on the same horse and rides back.

- On the day that Shou Ren and his pupils left, thousands of citizens arrive to bid them farewell. Shou Ren has Xu Hong De (the magistrate) released . Previously he sent out 4 of his pupils make some inquiries. He finally understand why no one paid attention to WDK's doings, WDK is connected to some of the officials at counties north of Lu Ling ; they had large amount of business transactions with each other. Shou Ren's pupils deduced that there are corrupt officials who brought Fan Shi Xian from WDK. Many of Shou Ren's old acquaintances did not say clearly as they did not want to stir up trouble but through their language it is hinted that there are big officials involved and they have the support of an even larger power. It's because Xu Hong De is a coward and doesn't dare to take part in this 'business' and take is as it nothing has happened although he did took some bribes. Jing Lie tells Shou Ren that Po Men Liu Jian intends to pay the corrupted officials a visit . And that should 1 day Shou Ren be in serious trouble, they will definitely come and help him out. Shou Ren & co leave Lu Ling.

- 1 month later. Li Jun Yuan (the guy who wants to convince Po Men Liu Jian to join the Prince of Ning) receives a letter from Po Men Liu Jian saying that they will not join the Prince of Ning. He is pretty vexed as he has been trying very hard to convince the people from Wulin to join the Prince of Ning but so far turned out empty handed. And 12 days after receiving the letter a official from Nan Chang(a place) who have been receiving bribes brought a strange man to visit him . Currently Prince of Ning, Zhu Chen Hao is 36 years old. He has bandits as his personal bodyguards. Ever since the current Emperor became Emperor, Prince of Ning has been planning to regain his military powers , he has bribed many of the officials in the capital and often send the Emperor many rare treasures so that he will be in favor with the Emperor and not have the Emperor be suspicious of him. In order to gain more financial resources he occupies common people's land and kill anyone who resists. He often bestow gives to his bandits-who-became-soldiers gifts ,he doesn't resent their lower birth status and even sit down on the same table to have a meal together from time to time. Prince of Ning is on his way to meet the strange man. He and his group of bodyguards and 1 advisor meets up with Li Jun Yuan, Jun Yuan summons the strange man forward . It's none other than WDK, he is wearing his He She uniform . He introduces himself as Wu Ji Hong and pledges allegiance to the Prince of Ning.

-27 years ago. Wudang Sect have just finished defeating Wu Yi Cult. Wudang Sect Leader Gong Sun Qing is in the cave . All around are Wu Yi Cult's corpses , and occasionally he can see a few Wudang Sect disciples dead bodies. By just looking at their backs, Gong Sun Qing knows who they are ; all of them are part of the 'Wudang 38 Swords' whom he personally trained. He's wondering if all of these was worth it. He thinks back to 1 month ago when the elders and his juniors object to him taking this path. Looking at so many of his dead disciples , his heart is about to break out. The price that was paid was simply too much. He raised the banner of 'getting of evil rid for the people , to be chivalrous' when he decided to attack Wu Yi Cult. But the real reason for attacking Wu Yi Cult was because of a meeting 6 months ago. He and his disciples were travelling when they met up with notorious Wu Yi Cult followers. They were truly unafraid of death during battle .Because of this they become a lot more scarier though they only have ordinary martial art skills , and this shocked Sun Qing. 1 of his disciples was heavily injured because he was shocked by it, and in the end Sun Qing dealt with the rest of the Wu Yi Cult follower. Sun Qing was very curious and wished to know the secret behind it. He practices Taoism and feels that it does not help in improving martial arts . On the contrary such demonic believes helps it followers to become such warriors. And so everyday Sun Qing keeps on thinking about this. He screws up his meditating and spends his time practicing martial arts. And when news of Wu Yi Cult massacre in Hui Zhou(prefecture) spread out, Sun Qing decided to make such a big decision to attack Wu Yi Cult headquarters. Back to the cave. Sun Qing finally saw a living disciple as he walked out. Chen Chun Yang is one of his earnest disciples ,he is 32 years old while Sun Qing is 42 years old. He has this educated appearance and thus his martial arts is often underestimated , the fate of being underestimated is passed on to his nephew Chen Dai Xiu ( The Zhen Gui Div guy). There are a total of 5 (excluding Sun Qing) survivors. Nearest to Chun Yang is Ye Cheng Xuan ,19 years old. Sun Qing is surprised that he made it out alive. However he is not the youngest among those who survived. That disciple is standing at the edge of the cliff admiring the sunset , his thick curly is being blown by the wind till as if it was dancing. Although Sun Qing brought 38 disciples to attack Wu Yi Cult, there are more than a hundred weaker Wudang disciples at the foot of the mountain to support them on their journey. A few Wu Yi Cult followers have surrendered and there are even children among them. Sun Qing orders for them to be brought back to Mt Wudang. He's still thinking about his dead disciples , in just 1 day nearly an entire generation was wiped out. He wonders if he brought about the downfall of Wudang Sect, he then remembers why he is here .He orders his disciples to go searching. In that night Wudang disciples moved all the medicines and books that Wu Yi Cult had out. Sun Qing saw a 4-5 years old boy in the cave. He reaches out to grab the boy, but as soon as he does that the boy starts screaming and resisting. The boy looks skinny and very weak. Sun Qing decides to bring the boy back as he likes the boy. Nobody knows his real name so everyone calls him Yao Zhi .The reason Yao Zhi struggled when Sun Qing grabbed him was because he's captured by Wu Yi Cult from a nearby village and he was experimented on by Wu Yi Cult by being given different types of medicine. There were 10 others like him who were fed different kinds of medicine every day and in the end only 3 lived ,2 died in the battle while the last one fell off the cliff while escaping. Because of the long term usage of the medicines , his physique is different from others ; his skin is more sensitive to touch, he cannot be exposed to the sun , he has to be densely covered during midwinter, he can't even wear clothing made of slightly rough material if he does so he will feel as if his body is rolling in metal powder. Everyone says that he can't live past 10 , but Sun Qing insists on making him his disciple. One day Sun Qing tells Yao Zhi that if he is really in too much pain he can commit suicide, he puts a short sword down for him. He isn't sure if Yao Zhi can understand what he is saying (Yao Zhi is still young) but Yao Zhi picked up the sword and assumes a sword raising stance . Ever since Sun Qing became Wudang Sect Leader , Yao Zhi is the youngest disciple he ever had.

- Sun Qing started looking into the books brought back from Wu Yi Cult. 6 months later he announced that Wudang Sect will no longer lead a monastic lifestyle and starts concentrating on martial arts, he also renounced his taoist name(Tie Qing Zi).Many of the elders and his juniors object to this. Sun Qing tells them that they can either leave or kill him. They left and never returned. 1 among his juniors fully supports him; Shi Xing Hao, whose 'Tai Ji Fist' technique is second only to Sun Qing. Xing Hao later renounced his taoist name ( Shi Ming Xu ). Ye Cheng Xuan changed his name to Ye Chen Yuan. Sun Qing revamped Wudang's training program. He started recruiting more disciples. Should Yao Zhi be at other sect like Mt Hua or Shaolin, he will definitely have no hope. But because of Yao Zhi's sensitive sense of touch he is very suitable to learn Tai Ji. And so Sun Qing did something that was never ever done at Wudang before : teaching the highest level technique (Tai Ji) to a disciple without first imparting the basics . And because of his condition he has to endure pain 10 times that of a ordinary person. Every time he gets thrown down by his master he feels as if he has jumped off a 3 storey building. In just a year he understood 'Listening Power'. After continuously bearing such pain for such a long period of time allows him to be used to such mental and physical torment. There was this time when he has broken his left forearm but still continue to practice with Sun Qing, and it was after a while did Sun Qing realized this. Sun Qing is amazed that he has unconsciously developed such strong fighting spirit. And he is not even 10 years old. 10 years later, he is capable of controlling the sensitivity of his sense of touch( he can 'activate' it when he needs it, and shut it down whenever he wants) and goes on to learn the basics of Wudang Sect martial arts. Sun Qing established Bing Ya, Shou She and Zhen Gui 3 division . Many of Wudang Sect disciples' face change whenever they see Yao Zhi on the training grounds ; it's not funny to be defeated by a 10+ years old boy. Everyone is afraid of the day that they will be defeated by Yao Zhi, they hope that the next time they duel at least they wouldn't lose too badly, and so they are motivated to train even harder. Yao Zhi broke Wudang Sect's record of being the youngest person to have the Tai Ji Symbol on his clothing at the age of 16. Soon he fully grasped the 'Wudang 4 Swords' and blade techniques and soon it's time to choose a weapon. It's around this timing that Sun Qing noticed Yao Zhi's leadership potential, his appearance is enough to motivate the people around him . In his eyes Sun Qing is like that of a father. He truly believes in Sun Qing's plan to make Wudang Sect undefeatable, he will not hesitate to fulfill this wish so as to repay Sun Qing. When Yao Zhi is 20 years old, Sun Qing officially name him Yao Lian Zhou. Sun Qing's health start to deteriorate , changing Wudang Sect's infrastructure took a toll on him not to mention he has to revamp their training program to make it more effective. He spent less time training and resting. Sometimes to freshen up , he used Wu Yi Sect medicine thus causing more burden to his body. There was once when Sun Qing was pondering over how to fuse 'hard ' and ferocious blade techniques like 'Zan Ma Blade' (Horse Beheading Blade) and 'You Long Blade'(Swimming Dragon Blade) techniques into 'Wudang 4 Swords' technique, and Lian Zhou suggested changing the weapon first which will allows those techniques to be used. As a result both master and disciple started discussing on creating a weapon called Dan Bei Sword. When Lian Zhou is 25 years old he defeated Ye Chen Yuan , many people find it unbelievable . Chen Yuan is 14 years older than Lian Zhou. Sun Qing then announced that Wudang Sect will have Vice Leaders and name 4 people to that position. (I assume that they were the current 3 vice leaders + Lian Zhou (Lian Zhou is confirmed in the book as 1 of the 4 vice leaders) ) Lian Zhou wishes that he could lead Bing Ya Division tomorrow down Mt Wudang to claim the title of the strongest back to his master. Sun Qing then announced that any1 can contend for the title of Vice Leader and the title of Leader will no longer be selected through the traditional way but by 1 of the Vice Leaders through strength. On the same night, Sun Qing summoned Lian Zhou to Zhen Xian Dian (a place on Mt Wudang). On his left is his own sword, on his right is Shan Bei Sword. He tells Lian Zhou that they both know that Wudang Sect's claim of being the strongest will not be completed in his hands. Lian Zhou tears, he hasn't tear since he is capable of controlling his sense of touch.
Sun Qing : I am unable to accept that in this journey(to claim the title of the strongest) i am only a empty shell . I can only transfer the title of leader to someone else. Even if it isn't you, it will be my another disciple. And in the end you will have to settle it with him . This is something you cannot escape, this being the case i hope that the one who grabs it from me is you. Furthermore to let you complete my ambition.
On that night, only Lian Zhou walked out of Zhen Xian Dian. From that day onwards he shuts off all of his emotions and have never smiled again.

Hall of Master #31: How Zheng San Feng(Wudang Sect's creator) came up with 'Tai Ji Fist' . A bit about his 7 disciples. About Gong Sun Qing revamping some of the techniques.

- Yao Lian Zhou wakes up from his meditation. It has been 1 year after the battle in Xi An. Ever since he returned he has been creating new techniques by fusing all the experience that he had in that battle with all of his knowledge. However things hasn't been going so smoothly , since 2-3 years ago he realized that he no longer is progressing forward in the speed like he had in the pass. He knows that he is reaching his limit and refuses to accept it. He wonders if he has become weak because he opened up his heart to Yin Xiao Yan . He has never allow anyone to obstruct his path to the pinnacle of martial arts, even if it is a woman whom he loves. But on that day in the brothel, he realized that because he wanted to protect Xiao Yan he displayed such tenacity that surpassed his expectations despite being poisoned. He decided that he will bring Xiao Yan with him as long as he is alive ; she will make him stronger. But now he doubts that cause he starts to feel that he is carrying a burden behind him. He feels that maybe he needs to find back the old him and so he goes to meet a person.

-Behind the prison is a man. He hasn't combed his long and messy hair for a very long time and it has become like that of a lion's mane. Yao Lian Zhou calls him Shang Shi Xiong (Male, senior. Shang is surname) . That man turns around and shoots out a bone from his mouth. Lian Zhou dodges it.
Shang Shi Xiong : This is the 1st time you have come visit me ever since i was here. It has been 7 years. This is my 1st time looking at you wearing this clothing ( Wudang Sect's Leader white gown). Haha just like a woman.
Lian Zhou's face didn't change but inside him his blood is rolling. What he wants is this feeling, he feels that he made the right decision to come here. He walks out.
Shang Shi Xiong: I will kill you. And then Wudang Sect will once again be mine.

-Lian Zhou meets up with Fan Zong who is in charge of guarding Mt Wudang.
Lian Zhou: That man... Someone has made contact with him.
Fan Zong: Did you see any sign?
He knows that it isn't a small matter if it's true.
Lian Zhou: It's just a intuition. Go do a secret investigation , see if there are suspicious people.

- Somewhere on Mt Wudang Ye Chen Yuan and Hou Ying Zhi are practicing 'Male and Female, Dragon and Tiger Sword' technique via the manual that Chen Yuan brought back. 6 months ago when Chen Yuan returned to Mt Wudang, he immediately goes to find Ying Zhi hoping he could decode the cipher. After looking at it for 2 days, Ying Zhi understood the way to decode it. There are numbers in the manual, the 1st number represent a Qing Cheng Sect sword technique set while the 2nd number refers to the specific technique in that sword technique set. Ying Zhi starts following the manual and practices a move. After looking at it for a while, Chen Yuan comes up with his improved interpretation based on his fighting experience wondering if his is the correct one. Without the advice of a Qing Cheng Sect expert they have no idea how close their sword technique is that of the original. Besides Ying Zhi isn't a Dao Chuan Disciple of Qing Cheng Sect and thus he has yet to learn all of their sword techniques (like Xun Zhao Sword, Ba Yin Sword and Jia Bi Dual sword technique.) Chen Yuan doesn't mind Ying Zhi learning from him since it doesn't go against Wudang Sect rules, but rather it is Chen Yuan who went against the rules. By right he should have notified Yao Lian Zhou about the discovery of the manual and study it together with the others but rather he goes to find Ying Zhi and are practicing it together secretly. This is because ever since his defeat at Lian Zhou's hand 7 years ago, there isn't a single day that he isn't thinking about defeating Lian Zhou. He doesn't want the title of Leader, he has no interest in such power . He is loyal to Wudang Sect and wants Wudang Sect to complete the title of being the strongest , but it's a regret that he isn't the number 1 guy. Initially he has given up on having a chance to beat Lian Zhou but after discovering the manual , it gives him hope. Ying Zhi and Chen Yuan continues sparring by trying to improve on that move. They keep switching attack and defending roles to allow Chen Yuan to view the effects of the move from 2 POVs. Because Ying Zhi has already practiced martial arts for 6-7 years ,he is better than many of the new recruits. But his Qing Cheng Sect martial arts knowledge can be a obstacle to him at times, because Qing Cheng and Wudang Sect martial arts are different he sometimes have to suppress his Qing Cheng Sect martial arts habits to learn Wudang Sect martial arts and sometimes it is more difficult compared to someone who has no previous martial arts background. There was once when Chen Dai Xiu suggested that he forgets his Qing Cheng Sect martial arts and learn Wudang Sect's martial arts from scratch. But Ying Zhi doesn't want to do that, he believes that it can be an advantage for him to advance faster. He hasn't forget the humiliation of Yan Heng advancing to Dao Chuan disciple faster than him. Initially he's just unhappy about it but after joining Wudang Sect he starts to resent it the moment he thinks about it, that's because of the time when Lian Zhou met him, he just asks about Yan Heng. That's when he decided that he wants to become someone that Lian Zhou cannot ignore. Chen Yuan tells him that if he was his son, it would be good. Ying Zhi thinks of his useless dad and his good friend Ye Tian Yang (Chen Yuan's son) and he don't know how to reply.

- Somewhere on Mt Wudang. Yin Xiao Yan has gotten that she has dreamt of ; everyone on Wudang respects her , Lian Zhou takes good care of her and loves her. In the past she always dreams of leaving the brothel and never expected to get this much. But now Yin Xiao Yan can't seem to sincerely feel happy. She knows that Lian Zhou can feel it, which is why in the past he asked her if she was happy. She don't dare to think too much as she never had much qualifications to ask much in the first place. She waits for a while and before she decides to head back, Ying Zhi arrives. She brought a malt candy for him. They started talking. Since she is Lian Zhou's lover, no one seems to talk to her much, the only person who does that is Ying Zhi making her life on Mt Wudang easier to pass. Ying Zhi is Xiao Yan's only friend on Wudang; Lian Zhou can't really be considered a friend. Xiao Yan reminds him of Xiao Li (the girl from Qing Cheng Sect). After a while they stop talking and Xiao Yan returns back first. He decides to walk back after he couldn't see Xiao Yan ; it isn't appropriate to be seen travelling with the Leader's woman in the night. Halfway through he feels that there is something unusual; he didn't hear or see anything but after sparring with Chen Yuan for so long his intuition towards danger has been sharpen. He stops and turns back only to find Fan Zong. Fan Zong is surprised that with his 'He She' qing gong and concealing abilities that he would be discovered by this guy. Fan Zong pulls out the flying sword on his waist and strike Ying Zhi's chest. Ying Zhi dont have time to draw out his sword , he blocks it with the sword still in its sheath. He then sweeps the end of the sheath at Fan Zong's neck. Fan Zong changes to reverse grip and locks the attack like a hook. He unsheathes his sword the moment he feels it being locked and attacks Fan Zong's rib using 'Wudang Line Sword' technique mixing it with 'Wind Fire Sword' technique's power releasing method. Fan Zong dodges it and raises his left hand and throws something towards him. Ying Zhi don't have time to pulls his sword back to block and raises his left hand in front of his chest to block. The object being thrown is a twig. Fan Zong is once again surprised; there aren't many people on Wudang who has such speed to intercept a concealed weapon . Fan Zong commends on his improvements. Ying Zhi wonders what is wrong; this isn't as simple as a friendly test . He wonders if it is because of his secret training with Chen Yuan. Ying Zhi leaves. Fan Zong knows that this isn't just any ordinary improvement, and wonders if its related to that man. He decides to get to the bottom of it. He remembers the oath that he sworn when he entered 'He She' ( Shou She's elite ): To kill anyone who harms Wudang Sect.

Not sure what to think of this manhua. The art is great but the characters feel pretty bland and I don't even feel a strong desire for revenge from the hero and sadly the villain is really boring. So I guess in my opinion it looks great but everything else falls pretty flat.

Well I probably should also give them credit that the fights are pretty good and creative and can get really deadly. Personally though I like when things get really intense and dramatic so I guess I was disappointed seeing the series going for the more softer and lighter route similar to Rurouni Kenshin. But I would be able to enjoy it more if they went as far as Rurouni Kenshin but they seem to be more realistic so if the characters and the fights can't be as crazy it needs to make up for it in story which they have yet to deliver. But who knows, Blood and Steel is still pretty new and there is a room for it to grow so maybe it can get better.

As much as i love the novel for its pretty deep explanations(into the physics of the attacks) and descriptions, it can really hurt the manhua. In the novels some of the attacks by the characters usually have pretty long descriptions and it would be impossible to adapt the action scenes without having to put up boxes describing what just happened. As a result the action scenes feel disrupted and at times it can be unenjoyable, especially when some things are soooo obvious. Personally i feel that to improve they can do away with some of the explanations that are fairly obvious to the readers.

Difference between Manhua vol 8 and the novel:

- In the manhua when Jing Lie meets up with the western group (before the battle whereby Si Lang vs Yuan Xing) ,he points towards the Wudang Sect Shou She Div disciple thus exposing his position. But in the novel , Jing Lie throws a knife at the Wudang Sect Shou She Div disciple to expose his position.

- In the novel, during the fight between Si Lang and Yuan Xing Jing Lie admires Si Lang's risky move of ditching his weapon and attacking barehanded. The manhua did not show this.

- In the novel during the fight between Dong San Qiao and Fan Zong, during the part where both of them ran towards each other, Dong San Qiao was imagining how he would strike down Fan Zong . The novel had San Qiao reacting according to how many steps they are apart. I thought that this part should be in the manhua as i really liked this part. But then again i can understand their decision to take this part out so as to make the action more fluid.

- As usual , there should be other minor details that i didn't catch .

Tong Qing's name is actually Tong Jing. I read it out loud and realised that i got it wrong.I know i'm not doing a translation that is accurate to the finest detail but still han yu pin yin is like the basic and getting it wrong especially this late is just fail on my part...

-Back to the past when Wudang Sect invaded Wu Yi Cult. Xi Zhao Ping ( the Wudang Bing Ya division guy with the big arm)finds his younger brother (guy with 1 long arm) Xi Xiao Yan alive under a corpse. Their father finds them and hugs them .

Father: Both of you are my everything. No matter what i want the both of you to grow up into adults, even if it means using my life as an exchange. One day the both of you are bound to use these bodies bestowed by the gods to set off a gigantic storm in this mortal realm. The both of you will be my biggest deed dedicated to the gods.

Their father can feel a strong killing aura from his back. Behind him is Ye Chen Yuan . The father turns around and decides to submit under Wudang Sect. After arriving on Mt Wudang Xi Ri Le (the father) helps out Gong Sun Qing (the then Wudang Sect Leader) on researching Wu Yi Cult's drugs, he even personally tested the drugs on himself. 3 years later he consumed the wrong pill and went crazy killing 10+ laborers on Mt Wudang before dying.

-Back to the present. In Jing Zhou(prefecture)'s Jiang Ling County are Yan Qing Tong ( the Xin Yi Sect guy from Xi An, the one who ordered to have Yao Lian Zhou poisoned) , 2 of his men and 2 men sent from the Prince of Ning to be his bodyguards. After the battle at Xi An, Qing Tong abandoned his business and decided to run ; his reputation is in ruins after being exposed as the mastermind behind the poisoning, not to mention he is afraid of Wudang Sect coming after him. After exiting Xi An, he met up with 2 envoys from Li Jun Yuan (guy who is under Prince of Ning, the one who wanted to get Po Men Liu Jian to work for Prince of Ning) who wanted him to work for the Prince of Ning. His purpose is to enlist martial arts experts to work for the Prince of Ning. Initially he was chased by Yuan Xing (this was after Xi An and before Yuan Xing met up with Po Men Liu Jian for the WDK battle. This was mentioned in one of the previous novels ) but managed to lose him and finally made it to meet up with Li Jun Yuan. He manages to recruit a couple of martial artist and even some underworld people. The reasons Li Jun Yuan relies on Qing Tong for such recruiting are because he has lots of connections ,good communications skills and most importantly he understands the thoughts and the habits of a martial artist. Qing Tong is working very hard to prove his worth to the Prince of Ning , especially since he doesn't want his limelight to be stolen by Wu Ji Hong (WDK) . The reason Qing Tong is here at Jiang Ling county is because he has recently heard of a new mysterious martial arts expert. He wants to see this person's skills with his own eyes before deciding on his next course of action. Last month he has only recruited 4 people with so-so skills and is desperate to find a relatively strong martial artist even if it is just 1 .And even if that person isn't as strong as Wu Ji Hong, that person has to be at least as strong as Huo Yao Hua . That mysterious martial arts expert is being named as Ghost Blade Chen.

- In a restaurant. Many people have gathered to check out Ghost Blade Chen. Recently in Jiang Ling County, 2 gang leaders Ban Si Ye and Zhao Hei Lian have duke it out against one another because of their shipping cargo business. And now Zhao Hei Lian has paid a lot of money to invite Ghost Blade Chen to settle things. Ever since Huo Yao Hua vanished without a trace many years old, there has never been so many attention being focused on 1 person in this area. There are even people from neighboring counties who arrived to watch this showdown. Ban Si Ye appears with 6 people. He recruited them to deal with Ghost Blade Chen. Some are pretty famous people from the underworld. Yan Qing Tong makes his way up to where the showdown will be at. Ban Si Ye and Zhao Hei Lian decides to end everything today. Ghost Blade Chen stands on the table insisting that the 6 of them come at him at the same time. This surprises everyone but the one who is the most surprised is Qing Tong because this is not the first time he has seen Ghost Blade Chen; the last time was nearly 1 year ago at the brothel in Xi An.

- The last time Xi Xiao Yan was on Mt Wudang was 2 months ago. Back then Xi Xiao Yan was running in a thick undergrowth up the rocks on Mt Wudang while clasping a tofu in his left hand. After reaching his destination he opens up his left palm and finds that his tofu did not break. Satisfied, he eats the tofu. He thought of this training program himself, this is to test him to keep the left side of his body 'soft' while doing intense movements. Ever since returning to Mt Wudang 6 months ago he has been practicing on the 'soft' aspect of 'Tai Ji Fist'. And now after eating the tofu, he begins practicing 'Tai Ji Fist' . He starts thinking about his brother and then Jing Lie who killed his brother and finally Ling Lan . How he wished that the both of them would be in front of him right now. Ever since Yao Lian Zhou declared the '5 year truce' he ordered Wudang disciples to not leave Mt Wudang seeking fights. Xi Xiao Yan grasped on his ' Bing Ya Division clothing, thinking what use is this garment if he cannot leave Mt Wudang. He knows that there are many comrades among the Bing Ya Division who are thinking the same thing. He is fully aware that his training has paid off, when he is practicing pushing, seizing and throwing techniques with Shang Si Lang he is capable to being locked in a stalemate for a few rounds with just 1 hand. If he combines using his right arm's 'hard' techniques, Shang Si Lang will definitely not be able resist him. There was once when Shi Xing Hao ( 1 of Wudang Sect's Vice Leader) personally came to the training grounds to observe them , after looking at Xi Xiao Yan for a while he says " perhaps in a few years , the seat(referring to the title of Vice Leader) will change ", admitting that Xi Xiao Yan has the potential to contest for the title of Vice Leader. After see Shi Xing Hao being so confident, he is very excited but at the same time he becomes more anxious and confident to battle against Jing Lie again. And so he decided to leave. He remembers Wudang Sect's commandment to overcome any obstacle, he don't care even if it is the Leader of Wudang Sect. He knows that the Shou She Division are guarding the exit routes and so he decides to take the toughest route down ,even if he meets up with them he will force his way through. In the end he made it down safely without being discovered. What he doesn't know is that on that very night Fan Zong is following Hou Ying Zhi and thus did not inspect the route that he was taking.

- Xi Xiao Yan left Mt Wudang brining along only his blade. And on the 3th day that he left he realizes that having only a blade is not enough to travel around . Initially he doesn't care about lodging and food, he thinks that he can always hunt down animals for food and now he feels really naive. Just because one can fight doesn't mean one knows how to hunt. He survives by plucking random fruits in the jungle . After 3 days he saw some travelers and asks for water. He has no idea where and how to find Jing Lie and Ling Lan, he thinks that by now they should be at the east or southern side. He arrives at a city. Just by traveling these few days have already been very tough not to mention he has no clue as to where to find Jing Lie ,now he has no idea on how to continue. Since he has no money he cannot buy food in the city. He walks pass the fruit vendor telling himself that taking food that he wants to eat is nothing to be ashamed of . As he reaches out towards a pear there's a commotion on the streets. A young guy ( Wei Xiang Gui) bumped into him and he grabs the him. Xiang Gui says that he wants to go earn money and to fight. After hearing the word 'fight' Xi Xiao Yan's head seems to be drenched by a basin of water, he unknowingly releases Xiang Gui and follows him. It seems that someone wants to hire 30 people to settle some business with other people. Xi Xiao Yan and Xiang Gui get chosen.

- Back to the restaurant. Huo Yao Hua arrives. Under Wu Ji Hong's orders she followed Qing Tong to this place. Yao Hua is familiar with this place . She has many enemies here (she did a lot of bad things here)and thus has to disguise herself. After arriving here she is having thoughts of leaving Ji Hong and finds Jing Lie . But she don't have to courage to do so, she knows how much Ji Hong hates traitors and will surely hunt her down. She is able to feel this invisible chain that is being leashed onto her. These few months she manages to stop using 'Zhao Ling Pill' and now that she is outside she no longer has to deceive Ji Hong into thinking that she did not stop. As she is making her way to the showdown's destination, she feels that something is wrong. She knows that she is being observed and wonders if she has been found out.

- Xi Xiao Yan defeats 5 of them easily with just his left hand. The last one surrenders and runs away. While Xi Xiao Yan is still fighting, Qing Tong and his bodyguards fled the scene. He threatens the 2 bodyguards assigned by Li Jun Yuan that they cannot mention what they saw today( By clutching their necks)that they wasted their time coming here and did not see Ghost Blade Chen.

Hall of Mastery # 32: Explains about 'hard' and 'soft' techniques. There is no 'absolute hard' and 'absolute soft' martial arts techniques. It's just that there are sects or fighting style that leans more towards one side. To unleash the explosive power of our muscles ,firstly we must relax our muscle .Explains how 'hard' and 'soft' are linked together and how many people have a misunderstanding that 'soft' techniques are higher level than that of 'hard' techniques and that 'soft' > 'hard' .

- Xi Xiao Yan is eating a meal while Xiang Gui is drinking with the company of prostitutes. All these are being paid by the money that they earned from Xi Xiao Yan's fight earlier on. Xiang Gui is like Xi Xiao Yan's agent ;he searches for clients. Xi Xiao Yan keeps on traveling from smaller towns to bigger ones hoping that the more famous he becomes the easier it is to meet up with Ling Lan and Jing Lie . Xiang Gui knows Xi Xiao Yan as Chen and not his real name. Xi Xiao Yan feels that the fights that he has on Mt Wudang is different from those fights outside of Mt Wudang. Since the battle in Xi An there is this fire in him that did not extinguish after returning to Wudang. And now after fighting for 2 months outside of Wudang, he seems to have finally understood the reason behind it. No matter how intense the fights are on Wudang , they are for training ;there is no intention of killing the enemy .Even though the people that he fought recently are weak compared to his Wudang comrades , he feels that he seems to be getting stronger. He knows that the reason Jing Lie is able to beat him is because Jing Lie got on to this path earlier then he did. Xi Xiao Yan hates prostitutes. He heard from his brother about how his father forced his wife to take Wu Yi Cult's drugs and to give birth to children with deformities. His mother died a few days after giving birth to him (due to the drugs) . Even though he hates his father , he hates his mother as well. He hates her for not resisting his father, for giving her life so easily to this type of man. This is why he is attracted to Ling Lan the valiant type of woman. He leaves the brothel.

- Walking on the street, he realizes that behind him is a lady riding on a horse and there are a couple of people following her. He wonders if they intents to steal from the lady. He starts to feel angry, he thinks back about his father who preys on weak women. He isn't thinking about justice but merely wanting to beat up people that he doesn't like. He walks towards the lady telling her that she has been followed and that he will deal with those people. The lady is actually Huo Yao Hua. Ever since this afternoon's showdown Yao Hua has been following him around. But at the same time she noticed that there are people shadowing her and so she has been walking on crowded streets. It's Xi Xiao Yan against 18 men. 3 of them are from Chu Lang Sect ( the sect that Huo Yao Hua once belonged to ) . He unwraps the cloth on his right arm. He feels that these people are different from the people that he fought with earlier on and that he needs 2 hands to deal with them. Everyone is surprised at his prowess after he killed a couple of them. Even Yao Hua is surprised, even she isn't capable of defeating the 3 Chu Lang Sect people that easily. The others run away. Xi Xiao Yan still thinks that Yao Hua as some ordinary girl. They walk away from the battlefield. He starts thinking about Ling Lan and how will she think of him. Surely as an enemy? He doesn't know what to say and do even if Ling Lan is in front of him. But still he simply wants to see Ling Lan. After walking for a while they separate, each going their own way. The next time when he meets up with Xiang Gui, Xiang Gui is dead(killed by gangsters). After being told by others who killed Xiang Gui, he decides to avenge Xiang Gui's death. Upon reaching the gangsters headquarters he find all the gangsters dead. He sees Yao Hua there with her blade drawn and blood all around.
Yao Hua: This is to pay you back for your favor back then.
At that moment Xi Xiao Yan has forgotten why he is here , he is just looking at Yao Hua's beautiful stance , she reminds him a lot of Ling Lan. Yao Hua made a big decision and said : " We have help each other killed people, our fate are already linked together."

- In a alley in Ling Jiang City. There are posters all around stating Po Men Liu Jian as Po Men Liu Zei (Liu Zei is 6 thieves) and writing bad things about them that they never do .( Like killing people, stealing from the people etc) Tong Jing is surrounded by about 20-30 people. Ruan Shao Xiong ( 1 of the people surrounding Tong Jing) heard that Po Men Liu Jian are no ordinary bandits, that in recent months they have been stealing from the government officials. They even openly approach the officials' residence to rob from them, even when surrounded by the guards they never run away and even beat up the guards . And so he was invited by Ling Jiang's magistrate to get rid of Po Men Liu Jian. He came up with the accusation posters to lure them here. Among those people is a young man around 27-28. His name is Pang Tian Shun from Xiang Dragon Sword Sect, he is a outstanding disciple from the headquarters and unlike the others here he came here alone. Tong Jing is angry at them for putting up the posters. Ruan Shao Xiong Vs Tong Jing. After a very short while, Pang Tian Shun pulled Shao Xiong backwards, Tong Jing's Xun Feng Sword only stabs into Shao Xiong's right forearm. Tong Jing then fights against a couple of people. Over these few months, her skills have improved. After seeing her skills there are some who don't dare to go near her. Pang Tian Shun saves a person from getting killed by Tong Jing. He tells the rest of them to stop. Earlier on he didn't want to join in was because he wants a one on one fight. He asks Tong Jing which sect she is from, she replies Qing Cheng Sect. Pang Tian Shun Vs Tong Jing. Tong Jing ends up losing. Tian Shun feels that Qing Cheng Sect Swordplay is nothing special .

Tong Jing(angry) : You... You...
Some guy: Did he say anything wrong? Didn't Qing Cheng Sect got destroyed?
Tong Jing: 1 day Qing Cheng Sect will definitely be revived.
Some guy: By you?
Tong Jing : You all can laugh at me, but you can't make fun of his aspiration. He will definitely succeed.
Yan Heng arrives on horse.

- Yan Heng vs Tian Shun. Tian Shun strikes at Yan Heng only for him to do a back hand slash and batter the strike back. After 4 strikes Tian Shun realizes that Yan Heng isn't looking at his sword but rather at certain parts of his body. After the fourth strike Tian Shun finally understands the reason behind it, Yan Heng is looking at the undefended positions on his body after his attacks are being blocked by Hu Pi ( Yan Heng's short sword). If Yan Heng has a sword on his right hand he will definitely deal killing blows to him at those positions. Yan Heng feels that there isn't any killing aura in Tian Shun's attacks which is why he hasn't raise any hostility towards Tian Shun. Tian Shun steps back and points at Long Ji (Yan Heng's longer sword) wanting Yan Heng to draw it. He knows that even though Yan Heng has seen through his sword techniques, he isn't willing to accept it . Yan Heng understands his intentions and draws out Long Ji. He isn't in any stance , he is relaxing the muscles in his body, even though he is looking at Tian Shun he isn't fixing his look at any part of Tian Shun's body so as not reveal his intent. He finally understood what Jing Lie taught him 2 years ago when they first met. Tian Shun has always been proud that he is among the elite of his sect even though he is not yet 30 and at this moment he is wondering what sort of training Yan Heng has been through that he able to achieve all these at such a young age. Tian Shun uses 'Yun Zhong Xuan Lei' (basically he throws out his sword using it as a feint before grabbing it and changing it to a slash). Yan Heng blocks the attack. Tian Shun's sword nearly flies out of his hand. Seeing that his ultimate technique has failed , Tian Shun gives up and prepares to get killed. But Yan Heng did not kill him. Tian Shun picks up Xun Feng Sword, returns it to Tong Jing while apologizing to her. During this time Yan Heng is on alert, should Tian Shun deliver a surprise attack on Tong Jing he will be ready. Tong Jing then explains that the magistrate is a greedy official . Yan Heng says that the magistrate is one of those who buys 'Fang Xian Shan' ( the drug made by WDK. The locals know about the story of 'fang xian shan' being sold around and the problems that it creates) and the others in Po Men Liu Jian recently went to visit him , they stole his government official hat and wrote a note to him telling him to use the money made from the 'fang xian shan' business to compensate the victims' families. They believe that there is definitely a bigger power behind this business. There has to be a reason for him to invite the people from Wu Lin to get rid of Po Men Liu Jian. Tian Shun is different from the people who were invited. He already suspected that something is wrong with the magistrate , the reason he is here is because he wants to see if there are genuine martial arts experts in Po Men Liu Jian and best if he can fight one of them . The guy responsible for the posters apologize to Tong Jing for the posters . Yan Heng then remembers about the Xiang Dragon Sword Sect's sword that Han Shi Zhi gave him, and returns it to Tian Shun. The sword belongs to Tian Shun's Shi Su who disappeared 3 years ago ( in actual fact he got killed by WDK's gang). Tong Jing and Yan Heng leave.

- Qian Qing's ( Qian Ning's god son. New character) bodyguards have been defeated by the Lian Fei Hong. Beside him are a couple of government workers, they thought that Ling Jiang's magistrate has already invited people to lure Po Men Liu Jian away and that these people who are escorting Qian Qing out of the province will be safe. Ling Jiang's magistrate gave half of the money earned from the 'fang xian shan' business to Qian Qing in exchange for him to cover up it up. Fei Hong thrusts his sword at Qian Qing.

Qian Qing : Wa-Wait! Do you know who i am? Who my father is?
Fei Hong: Shut up. Don't say anything. Just think of everyone that you have harmed in your entire life.
Qian Qing : My father is Qian-

Fei Hong kills him. He doesn't think much when he kills Qian Qing, what he doesn't know is that this is the prelude of a huge storm.

- Hu Ling Lan is practicing her sword technique. After her battle with Yao Hua, she is surprised that there is a female blade user similar to her. This 6 months she has been working very hard to improve her skills.

Jing Lie : Now i really can't defeat you
Ling Lan : You... Will definitely get better.

Even though Jing Lie has gone through many treatments , his left hand and right leg both are still unable to fully recover . It seems like he has injured his muscle tendons, the moment he musters a bit of strength it will hurt alot. Jing Lie endures the pain and continues his daily training but it only worsens the pain in his right knee. In the winter he needs a walking stick to aid him in walking. Jing Lie is thinking on how to improve Ling Lan's skills , he says that she needs to practice more on agile footwork and this she will have to learn from Lian Fei Hong. Even though Jing Lie is always smiling like usual and has a relaxed expression whenever he speaks of his injury, she feels that he has become weak . Right now they are situated in a village. After the battle with WDK, Po Men Liu Jian have been stealing money from the corrupted officials who earned it from Fan Xian Shan business transactions and giving them to different villages. During meal time, Jing Lie tells Ling Lan that she knows how to take care of kids ( there are children around them )and she blushes. She remembers how she once told Jing Lie that she will defeat Jing Lie and after that she will marry Jing Lie as her 'wife'. She always thought that it will take a long time to truly be together with Jing Lie, but looking at the situation now it doesn't seem so far away. She's thinking 'If he really can't recover...' She understands that his life is a road that never cease to rise , that huge desire of his has always been supporting him to overcome countless obstacles. But when the body breaks down beyond repair, the road that is always heading forward will break down ,that's when dreams will end. And maybe by then she will become the most treasured thing in his life. Even though Jing Lie has been exercising for the past few months ,(he is unable to do full body workout ) he is still eating the same amount of food and now he has a bit of a belly. One of the kids calls him fat, he tries to acts as if he doesn't care but Ling Lan notices that his expression momentarily stiffens and realizes that he actually cares. The more Jing Lie pretends to not care the more she is worried. And finally she spoke out what that has been on her mind for a very long time : " In this world not only martial arts is considered as power, there is not only 1 path to become stronger, you still have other talents like the last time on Qing Yuan Mt ( during the battle against WDK) i can see that you have the talent to lead troops. My father also sees it this way, my country has 3000 soldiers, if you don't mind going back with me ... Don't be mistaken i'm not trying to convince but to tell you that there are other choices." Jing Lie does not say a single word and is staring at her angrily, this is the first time she has seen him this angry. He walks out. She feels that the happiness that she felt she had with him these few days has in this instance broken beyond repair.

- Lian Fei Hong and Yuan Xing returns to the village. Fei Hong gives food to the children, while Yuan Xing brought back medicine for Jing Lie. Jing Lie is practicing the move that he used against Mei Xin Shu ( WDK's junior. Once part of Wudang Sect), he names this strike as 'Lang Hua Zhan Tie Shi'. Yuan Xing inspects Jing Lie's injuries and applies medicine to his injuries. He tells Jing Lie that he has brought back new medicine and he will have Jing Lie try them tomorrow.

Jing Lie: Do you know what's the most hateful thing? I have already figured out such a powerful blade strike but...

Yuan Xing understands what Jing Lie is saying . That by betting on his life he manages to figure out such a powerful strike ,that he found a gateway that spurs his martial arts to even greater heights just like what Fei Hong mentioned ( to fuse all your martial arts you have learned in your whole life into one) but unfortunately his body failed him. It's like the door that he has been knocking on for a very long time has finally opened but his legs are incapable of stepping inside. For a person who has been pursuing the peak of martial arts it's more frustrating compared to when he has never seen such hope before. Initially Yuan Xing and Fei Hong asks Jing Lie to accompany them to get rid of Qian Qing, but he refused. He was originally the strongest among Po Men Liu Jian , but now he has become a person who cannot fight and thus he doesn't want to watch his comrades fight. Yuan Xing don't know what to say to Jing Lie , during his time in Shaolin Temple he has seen many seniors give up on martial arts due to serious injuries.

Jing Lie : Just now i'm really useless. I got angry at Ah Lan (Ling Lan). I know that she is saying that for my own good. But i'm really angry at what she said. She should be very clear that even i die i won't change my goal. She should be the woman who understands me the most.
Yaun Xing: It's useless telling me those words, go tell it to her.

- Tong Jing still has the puppet that Yan Heng gave him in Han Yang City. Yan Heng remembers the smile that was on her face when she received it. Yan Heng is getting impatient , he wants to fight with Wudang disciples and wants the Wudang Sect person who said ' Starting from today, Qing Cheng Sect no longer exists ' ( I think its Ye Chen Yuan) to eat back his words. Tong Jing believes he can do it. When they are riding back to the village, Yan Heng feels like holding her hands but couldn't muster the courage to do so. On their way they saw Ling Lan who is leaving to find a way to cure Jing Lie.

Ling Lan : Yesterday i said some things that shouldn't be said . I actually tried to persuade him to change, to chase other dreams . It is too ridiculous, i should have been the one who understands him the most. Anyone can say those words, but not me. Which is why i've decided that i will use all that i have to let him continue his dream.
Yan Heng : Does Jing Lie knows that you're leaving.
Jing Lie *shakes head* : I don't want him to stop me. When you all return don't tell him first, wait till i have gotten far.
Tong Jing: If you were to succeed how will you find us?
Ling Lan : I have told Fei Hong that every time you all leave a village you tell the people there where you are heading next.

He then received a report from his subordinates that they did not wait for his order and immediately went to search for Po Men Liu Jian but so far they have turned up empty handed. When Qian Qing is doing business outside he can be considered as the representative of Qian Ning's authority. And to think that there are people who dare to touch him, this itself is a humiliation to him. Qian Ning sent Qian Qing to settle the Fan Sian Shan business , initially he was thinking that if this business were to be successful he would buy the recipe itself and starts manufacturing and selling it at different places. Li Jun Yuan enters . Qian Ning enquires Jun Yun about Po Men Liu Jian, he tells him what he knows about them. Jun Yuan says that the way to deal with Po Men Liu Jian is to use people from Wu Lin. People from the Wu Lin values their name very much , Qian Ning asks what him what would he do should he be in Qian Ning's position?

Jun Yuan : In this world , what is more glorious then the title bestowed by the emperor?

-Qian Ning parts with Jun Yuan , prepares a document then proceeds to see the Emperor. Emperor is spending time with Jian Bin . Basically Jian Bin and Qian Ning are duking it out to win the Emperor's favor. Recently the Emperor has been spending lesser and lesser time with Qian Ning. Beside the Emperor is Song Li ( Yan Heng's friend at Qing Cheng Sect), as of now Song Li is the Emperor's favorite concubine. In the past Qian Ning has sent the emperor many women but none has ever been doted upon by Emperor like how the Emperor dotes Song Li. Qian Ning curses Jian Bin for this. Qian Ning asks his subordinate if he has finished checking out Song Li's background? The subordinate says that they will know soon. After a little while, Qian Ning gets to talk with the Emperor. Qian Qing suggests to the Emperor a way to let the different sects in Wu Lin to know that without the Emperor's tolerance they wouldn't be able to exist . He then suggests the Emperor to send Eunuchs to a few famous Sects to deliver a medal for them to keep for generations to show that they are part of the Emperor's 'Zhong Yong Wu Ji' ( meaning something like The Loyal and Brave Martial Artists Gathering ), saying that these people after receiving such glory will thank the Emperor and will be a service to the Emperor. Emperor says that it can be done easily, that he can summon all of them here to showcase their martial arts to him. Qian Ning then says that it's hard to tame these people's unruliness and even if they receive the title it's hard to confirm their loyalty. And that recently there's a group of highly skilled bandits called Po Men Liu Jian , Qian Ning suggests that when the martial artist accept the imperial decree they are to be ordered to get rid of those bandits. He asks the Emperor for his opinion and pass a document containing info on Po Men Liu Jian to him ( the information isn't complete) . The Emperor asks Song Li how she feels about it , she doesn't even look at the list and coldly tells the Emperor she hates that those evildoers who rely on martial arts to kill the most and that he should kill them all. The Emperor says to follow what she has said and agrees to Qian Ning's plan. Should she have seen ' Si Chuan Yan Mo' ( referring to the place Si Chuan and Yan Heng.) and Qing Cheng Sect she would have been stunned. Jiang Bin can't figure why Qian Ning is doing this and continues thinking of new stuff to show to the Emperor . He didn't say anything after seeing the Emperor being this happy. Qian Ning is satisfied, he is thinking that no matter how good their martial arts are they can't be compared to a few of his words and what a bunch of fools they are.

-Li Jun Yuan knows that under Qian Ning's command the Imperial Decree is currently being sent out towards a couple of Sects in Wu Lin. Initially when he helped out Qian Ning he just wanted him to get rid of Po Men Liu Jian. Since receiving Po Men Liu Jian's letter last year he has been fearing for his life , he is afraid of the day should they come to kill him. Now that Po Men Liu Jian's enemies are all over the world he can relax. But now with the new Imperial Decree it's sure to turn everything upside down. He's thinking on how to get real martial arts expert to join the Prince of Ning. He knows that the imperial decree will definitely be sent to Wudang Sect. But then again he remembers the Wudang Sect 3 commandments being recited at Xi An. He feels that while Wudang Sect might accept the 'Zhong Yong Wu Ji' medal, should the Imperial Court orders them to do things then they might refuse ,Wudang Sect will clash with the Imperial Court. Thinking about Wudang Sect reminds him of Wu Ji Hong. He remembers Wu Ji Hong telling him the reason why he left Wudang Sect and the genius of a senior that is being trapped on Mt Wudang. He is thinking of having him join the Prince of Ning. He intends to buy the Jing Yi Wei spy that Qian Ning has on Mt Wudang.

- In Xin Yi Sect's main branch (which is in Shan Xi province) . Xin Yi Sect leader is "Jin Zhong Shen Quan" Yan Shi Bang (Jin Zhong is a prefecture city in Shan Xi , while Shen Quan can be translated into God Fist). When he was younger he became famous after a battle whereby together with 3 people from the same sect they helped the government officials to kill 100 bandits. Many of his disciples are part of armed escort services and are part of the public military force and because of this he is highly respected by the local authorities . Not to mention the county magistrate but even if he were to see Tai Yuan Prefecture magistrate ( Tai Yuan is Shan Xi's capital), he is exempted from kneeling down to pay courtesy. But at this moment everyone is kneeling . Among those who are kneeling are Dai Kui ( the guy back in Xi An, in this novel he is described as the assistant teacher of the main branch) , beside him is his Shi Xiong Li Wen Yu ( Li Wen Qiong's elder brother. The guy who got killed by Yao Lian Zhou when he and Dai Kui attacked him )They are all kneeling down while Yan Shi Bang receive the imperial decree delivered by a eunuch. To be bestowed with the medal is an honor that has never happened to Xin Yi Sect. But they all know that they are not the only Sect to be bestowed with it. After a while only Dai Kui, Li Wen Yu, Yan Shi Bang and his Shi Di (junior) Mo Xi Xian are left in the hall.

Shi Bang : Dai Kui i know that you're not happy about this.
Mo Xi Xian : This is the Imperial Decree how is it possible to reject it? This is a glory that will be passed down to later generations ,what's so bad about it?
Dai Kui : We who practice martial arts exchanges our blood and sweat for it. Xin Yi Sect is famous around the world and we relies on such strength . It doesn't matter how the Emperor sees us or gives us what title.
Mo Xi Xian : Dai Kui ever since you came back your speech gets more and more crazier , you learnt unorthodox skills and now your start lecturing your elders?

Ever since Dai Kui came back, he taught what he has learnt from Po Men Liu Jian to his juniors. Shi Bang didn't say anything regarding this matter but Xi Xian is not happy about it. He thinks that Dai Kui is disrupting Xin Yi Sect's tradition and is being disrespectful to Xin Yi Sect's orthodox martial arts.
Dai Kui : Wudang Sect will soon come and tear down our signboard , where do we have time to pay attention to what is orthodox and what is not .
Li Wen Yu believes that Wudang Sect will not attack them now that the Imperial Court is looking out for them .

Dai Kui : We are not using our own martial arts to resist but rather to rely on the Imperial Court's power to protect ourselves ? Then we should all stop practicing martial arts and become officials.

Shi Bang says that he understands what Dai Kui is thinking but in order to preserve their foundation he has no choice but to do this. Shi Bang then tells Dai Kui that this medal comes with another imperial order which is to kill 'Po Men Liu Jian'. Dai Kui still don't know who Po Men Liu Jian are but after opening the name list he figured it out. He then tells Shi Bang that he has been with Jing Lie & co for a period of time and believes that they will never commit the atrocities mentioned . He says that in Xi An it is because of them that a bit of Xin Yi Sect sect's reputation was redeemed. Shi Bang tells Dai Kui not to worry as he will only pretend to comply, he will send a few disciples to go out 1 round to pretend that they are hunting for Po Men Liu Jian. But he believes that there will be people who genuinely wants to hunt them down hoping to claim an even greater prize from the Imperial Court. Dai Kui kneels down asking permission from Shi Bang to send him out so that he can warn Po Men Liu Jian of this situation.

- On Mt Wudang, outside Yu Zhen Palace. It is in the afternoon and it is very hot. The eunuch carrying the Imperial Decree is sweating alot. It has been quite some time but no one from Wudang has come out to approach him . The eunuch curses and couldn't believe that someone of his position would be treated like such. Initially he thought that when he arrived he would receive a large red packet but now they haven't even offer him a cup of tea. Many Wudang disciples standing by the sides are staring at him like a pack of wolves. He is confused as to why this is happening . And finally Gui Dan Lei (From Wudang Sect Zhen Gui Division. He was the leader of the group that went to rescue Yao Lian Zhou in Xi An ) comes out and approaches him.

Gui Dan Lei : Please return
Eunuch : You... Say it again...
Gui Dan Lei : Our leader expresses his thanks to the Emperor for his kindness . But Wudang Sect cannot accept this fame and position. Please return

The eunuch's lips are trembling. Gui Dan Lei says that the last time round Shi Xing Hao visited the Emperor he did explained Wudang's stance on not seeking out worldly fame and position and he believes that the Emperor will understand. The eunuch proclaims them as crazy and runs away dropping the box containing the medal on the floor.

- On Mt Wudang, inside Zhen Xian Palace Hall are Yao Lian Zhou , Ye Chen Yuan and Shi Xing Hao. All of them are looking at Po Men Liu Jian's name list. The words that caught his eyes are 'Qing Cheng Sword Sect' , on the day that he destroyed Qing Cheng Sect he knew that 1 Dao Chuan Disciple was saved by the 'Wudang Hunter' ( Jing Lie) . He thought that the Dao Chuan Disciple would then abandon the way of the sword and live in seclusion until he heard from Lian Zhou that he vowed to take revenge on Wudang Sect. He is thinking that He Zi Shen actually had such a disciple , he can't wait for him to get stronger to challenge him. Shi Xing Hao is thinking about the stuff that's happening with the Imperial Court. Lian Zhou's asks them if what he did was wrong? Xin Hao replies that outsiders will think that it is a big mistake , that he will be viewed as a fool for offending the Emperor because of his enemies ( Po Men Liu Jian) . Chen Yuan questions Lian Zhou if he is unwilling to relinquish the 5 year truce. Lian Zhou says that he is a bit unwilling, but if it is necessary he will relinquish it and send out everyone from Bing Ya Division without hesitation. He says that the important thing is that it has to be his own will, that no one can command the way that Wudang Sect's strength is being used. Otherwise they will merely become other people's dog.

Lian Zhou *looking at Shi Xing Hao * : Isn't it because of the same reason that you opposed Shang Shi Xiong (the 3th Vice Leader) on becoming the Sect's leader?
Chen Yuan : Actually you can act as if you agree and just put on a show.
Lian Zhou: Even if in the end we never even lift a finger, we have already surrendered the moment we have agreed. Master once taught me : No matter under what circumstances must we not tell a lie. The moment you lie to someone it is to lose to him, because you are unable to be your truthful self in front of him .This is definitely not the Wudang Sect way of doing things .

Chen Yuan smiles as he is expecting this answer, he himself hasn't forgotten this.
Lian Zhou : During that year you all opposed Shang Shi Xiong because you all believe that he will guide Wudang Sect on the path towards secular desires that will destroy us. But the funny thing is that now i maybe the one leading Wudang Sect towards destruction.

- 7 days after Wudang Sect refused to accept the Imperial Decree. Today Jiang Ning Er is responsible for sending food for Shang Shi Xiong . Shi Xing Hao makes it such that only disabled people deliver food to Shang Shi Xiong. He knows that whenever he enters and exits he may be observed by Shou She Division people and thus he doesn't say a word. When eating the drumstick , Shang Shi Xiong realizes that the bone can be easily separated from the meat , even more so then usual. It is as if someone took it out and then put it back in again. After finishing the drumstick, he touches the bone and realizes that there is a letter 'Wu' ( Wu Ji Hong's Wu) being carved on it. He reveals a smile and laughs out loud .

The end. I suppose vol 11 will take me abit longer than usual.

- In terms of chapter chronology in the novel, the fight between Yao Lian Zhou and Yan Heng happened before Gui Dan Lei Vs Yin Ying Chuan . And the part where the Shaolin monks walked on the streets happened after the fight between Yao Lian Zhou and Yan Heng and before Gui Dan Lei Vs Yin Ying Chuan.
While in the manhua the fight between Yao Lian Zhou and Yan Heng happened after Gui Dan Lei Vs Yin Ying Chuan. And the part where the Shaolin monks walked the streets did not appear. Though judging by the way they readjust the chapters i would say it should appear the first thing in the next volume.

- In the novel there is a flashback after Yan Heng decided not to kill Fan Zong, it's a flashback when Yan Heng is still 13 while his Er Shi Xiong (Male, Second Senior) told him that learning the way of the sword is about sincerity.

- In the manhua as Gui Dan Lei is exiting an alley while heading towards the brothel, he nearly crashes into Lian Fei Hong . It's very different in the novel. In the novel Gui Dan Lei did not meet Lian Fei Hong during that part. Earlier on he asks his fellow Wudang comrades to leave him before he fights with Yin Ying Chuan and it is his fellow Wudang comrades who nearly crash into Lian Fei Hong and ended up clashing against him. Here is what happened in the novel :

- Back to the Wudang disciples whom Gui Dan Lei asks to leave without him. While they are rushing to the brothel, they meet the old man riding on a horse. They nearly hit the rider . Enraged, Li Dong tries to attack the old man with his spear. Without even turning his head, the old man draws his metal fan and blocks the attack. Li Dong is shocked that the old man is a strong enemy. The metal fan doesn't look light and the old man is only using his wrist to move it around like how a scholar would be taking a paper fan and fan himself.

And a couple of chapters before this , Lian Fei Hong and his fellow Kong Tong Sect comrades appeared once in the novel when they first entered the city. The manhua fused these 2 scenes into 1 and modified it.

- The manhua shortened Yin Ying Chuan and Gui Dan Lei's definition of a 'martial arts expert'. The manhua shortens many things but personally i really like Yin Ying Chuan's conviction to prove himself as a 'martial arts expert' . From my summarized translation of the novel :

[To Yin Ying Chuan, a true 'martial arts expert' is someone who has the confidence to defeat any enemy at any time and condition. And Ying Chuan believes that he is someone with such capabilities. But to believe and to prove it are two different things.

There's a saying: "A famous teacher trains a fine student." . An expert may be able to train a good disciple, but what about the future generations? Martial arts maybe able to be passed down without any problems. But the expert's battle experience and Xin Fa will have difficulties passing down. (Egscans translate Xin Fa as method.) the first generation might be able to learn it well, but for the future generations it will slowly degenerate into assumptions and imaginations as such knowledge must be experienced by oneself. Future generations can accumulate such experience through battles. However, famous sects like Eight Trigram Sect already have such a reputation that outsiders wouldn't dare to offend them. There are actually very few people who dare to challenge them. And because of gradation of etiquette with social/WuLin status, it is not simple for disciples of big sects to challenge another big sect disciple . This is exactly Ying Chuan's problem. There are sparring sessions within the sect, but how can it compare with a life & death matches or a fight when you're gambling on your sect's reputation.As the younger brother of the current Eight Trigram Sect Leader and having trained many famous disciples, many Wu Lin people regard him as a 'martial arts expert'. However, Ying Chuan isn't satisfied. Despite learning martial arts for 40 years , Ying Chuan don't have a chance to prove himself .Because of Eight Trigram Sect reputation ,he has only fought in life and death fights and has only killed 6 people and all of them are not even comparable to his fighting level. And now finally, he has a chance to prove himself.

Note: Actually for the " of gradation of etiquette with social/WuLin status" part, the word's literal translation would be etiquette, but I feel like that if it's just translated into 'etiquette' there would be some stuff lost in translation . Its kinda hard to explain so I tried to figure something out and searched around the internet and got the 7 words.

My explanation of Wu Lin etiquette is pretty bad in that translation. Since i have a little time i will try to explain a bit. It's uncommon for people from righteous sects to duel each other in a fight to death. They don't want to start a war just because of this and even if they do duel each other it will be like a friendly match.

- In Yuan Zhou(Prefecture)’s most famous restaurant are Dai Kui and 77 Mi Zong Sect People. Dai Kui knows that Mi Zong Sect is here to destroy Po Men Liu Jian. Zeng Qing Feng from Mi Zong Sect recognizes Dai Kui as a Xin Yi Sect member due to his dressing and posture. It is revealed that there will be 300 Mi Zong Sect members gathering here in 2 days and that Mi Zong Sect's Leader "Yun Ying Shen Xing" Lei Jiu Di will be arriving as well. Then information arrives stating that there are some people from other Sects getting ready as if they have found 1 of Po Men Liu Jian. Dai Kui and the Mi Zong Sect people head out to that location. Dai Kui don't get to hear the name Lei Jiu Di a lot, the deepest impression of him was when his master once said that Lei Jiu Di is totally different from the rest of the Mi Zong Sect people. And at that moment his eyes revealed a slight fearful look. There are very few people in the world who can make "Jin Zhong Shen Quan" Yan Shi Bang show that kind of expression in his eyes. He then said that Lei Jiu Di is a lunatic. Dai Kui heard that in the recent few years Lei Jiu Di isn't at Cang Zhou(prefecture) but rather secluding himself to train , and in the process he did not quit the position of Mi Zong Sect's leader resulting in Mi Zong Sect without a proper leader. This explains why last year at Xi An there's only less than 20 Mi Zong Sect disciples there.

-Many people are gathering outside a building where Po Men Liu Jian are suspected of being situated in. There are many sects that did not receive the ' Zhong Yong Wu Ji' medal, but there is a rumour that should anyone of Po Men Liu Jian be killed they will be bestowed upon the medal. There are also many rumours regarding the medal. Some says that the medal can pardons one from death sentences other than serious offences like rebellion. As a result many people are setting their sights on it. The people surrounding the building start their assault. But the person inside is Xing Ying ( Lian Fei Hong’s disciple).

-Dai Kui & co arrives. He dashes in intending to help Po Men Liu Jian out. But at this moment Pang Tian Shun comes out with Xing Ying. He introduces himself and bluffs the others saying that Xing Ying is his Shi Mei. ( If the others know that she is from Kong Tong Sect they won’t let her go so easily) Dai Kui recognizes Xing Ying as Lian Fei Hong’s disciple . The others looks at them and don’t think that they’re from Po Men Liu Jian.

-2 months ago Kong Tong Sect received the Imperial Decree. Xing Ying left immediately to find his master. Dai Kui, Xing Ying and Pan Tian Shun start talking . Tian Shun tells them about his encounter with Yan Heng and Tong Jing. They move off to find Po Men Liu Jian.

Hall of Master #34: Difference between ‘Doors’ and ‘Sect’s

-In the forest. 7 hunting dogs attack Yuan Xing. He scares 5 of them away & releases 1 instead of killing it. Their owners are afraid to attack him and follows him as he returns back to their hideout in a temple. But on the way they are ambushed by Fei Hong. Yan Heng is standing guard on the roof. They are in pretty bad condition ; they haven’t bathe for a very long time, they’re tired from the countless assaults and they can’t sleep peacefully because of it. The assaults began about 1 month ago and they have been in the jungle for 10+ days. They then know about the Imperial Decree which wants them dead. Jing Lie is wondering how will Ling Lan find them, he doesn’t want to let her down and wants to show her a stronger him when she returns. It’s only after she left that he knows how precious she is to him. These few days he has been thinking on how to improve by not relying on his left arm and right leg.

-Even after doing sentry duty for so long , Yan Heng failed to notice that there is a figure in the south observing the temple. That man is dressed in black, he keeps on muttering to himself. He intends to attack Po Men Liu Jian when they’re off guard and when they do not have enough rest. He mutters to himself : “The 1st one is the old man. Must kill, kill them all.” He tells himself not to be anxious and starts eating meat.

-Lian Fei Hong is in a dream reminiscing of a time when he was 27 years old. Back then he’s only a ‘Dao Chuan Disciple’ but he’s confident that he is the future Kong Tong Sect Leader. His master Ling Ao Yi taught him 4 of the ‘Ba Da Jue’ techniques 6 years ago. And there is no one like him in Kong Tong Sect for the past 60-70 years. Back then he is in a bathtub with his lover beside him. He wants his lover to marry him. But she says that eventually he will leave her , she knows that in his right hand is a small knife .She says that even in such circumstances he can’t let go of the knife, that they’re both very clear that the most important thing in his life is definitely not her.

-He opens his eyes. He rarely thinks about stuff during his younger days. He wonders if he is really getting old. This dream reminds him of what he missed out and what he sacrificed to follow the path of his sword. He looks at Tong Jing. Right now looking at her growth is his greatest joy which even surpasses his desire to fight strong enemies. Even though it is not his turn to do sentry duty , he takes over Jing Lie. Fei Hong is thankful to be with Jing Lie & co as he have had such an exciting year. He don’t know how much longer he can enjoy such fighting days. Jing Lie has never thought about himself being old. But now after hearing all these he does. He has no worries if he can still be like Fei Hong at such a age. If Jing Lie father isn’t wrong, Jing Lie should be 27 years old this year.
-Fei Hong observes a ray of light in the south and deduce it to be the moonlight reflection off a sword. He observes another ray of light and a shadow moving. He starts to move away from the wall, but at that moment he is in disbelief as he senses a killing aura very near behind him. He wonders who in the world is capable of moving without a sound towards his back. Knowing that he don’t have enough time to turn around , he uses his rod to propels himself forward. He leans forward and bends his head downwards resulting in the incoming projectile scraping his shoulder. He drops his rod and throws a throwing blade in between his legs but his assailant dodges it. He never hoped for that to connect but merely to stop his enemy from advancing immediately . He is shocked when he saw the motion of his assailant’s body to be quicker than he imagined. He drop and rolls away trying to put more distance between the both of them. They are around 7-8 steps away which is the throwing blade’s ideal effective range, he throws another throwing blade but again his assailant dodges it. Fei Hong then remembers that he has encounter such strange movements before; Mi Zong Sect’s Yan Qing Mi Pu (something like Swallow Green Crazy Steps). He looks at his assailant again and without a doubt he figures out that his assailant is Mi Zong Sect’s leader ‘Yun Yin Shen Xing’ Lei Jiu Di. Lei Jiu Di throws a 3-point Swallow Dart ( basically a dart with black ink applied over it). Jiu Di advances and Fei Hong dodges while retreating. Knowing that he is at a disadvantage , he changes tactics ; advancing with his sword and blade. Likewise Jiu Di draws out 2 blades . Despite belonging to different sects, their martial arts habit and movements are astonishingly similar. His sword is only halfway through the attack motion when Jiu Di’s blade reaches first and clashes against it. He isn’t surprised that Jiu Di’s ‘Ming Tang Quick Blade’ technique is so fast but rather at the strength of the attack and at how much Jiu Di has grown . He aims his blade at Jiu Di ‘s left rib . Jiu Di uses the same move and both of their blades clash. In that instant Fei Hong looks into Jiu Di’s eyes. There is a strange expression in his eyes, similar to that of WDK. From the start till now Fei Hong don’t even have the time to face the temple and shout for help. But even if he could he wouldn’t. How could he ask for help to deal with someone whom he once defeated. Jiu Di continues his assault. Using ‘Jie Xiang’ : Jun Feng ( Army Wind), he imagines himself in Cang Zhou’s ( Prefecture ) snowstorm unleashing strikes while resisting against the wind. But in reality there is no violent snowstorm to oppose his strikes, resulting in a increase in the speed of his blades’ strikes. In a blink of an eye he unleashes 9 strikes while his attack speed which was influenced by ‘Jie Xiang’ did not slow down at all. ‘Jie Xiang’ is the highest level martial arts technique. It is not easy to control and it requires the person to fully concentrate in his thoughts as a result it is very tiring and cannot be maintained for too long. Which is why martial arts experts will use it as a all-out attack, like when Qing Cheng Sect Leader He Zi Sheng used the image of a tiger moving down a hill to use ‘Tiger Pounces’ which uses encompasses 3 strikes and that is already nearing the human limit. Lei Jiu Di manages to unleash 9 strikes while using ‘Jie Xiang’ without any signs of decline, the load on his mind must be unimaginable. Fei Hong tries his best by countering with 9 strikes as well but after that he feels breathless and is unable to continue. He knows that he has to change his attack and before Jiu Di could do a tenth strike, he uses ‘Flying Method’ to throws his blade at Jiu Di. Jiu Di changes his ‘ Jie Xiang’ imagining himself floating in between the waters , slanting his body to dodge the attack. To be able to change his ‘Jie Xiang’ from a violent one to a gentle one is to change his fully concentrated thoughts without any obstruction which is something ordinary people can’t do.

-Jiu Di attacks him again and manages to pin his sword in front of his body . This time round Jiu Di changes his ‘Jie Xiang’ imagining his body as a 1000 pound rock that is falling, using the force to apply pressure on Fei Hong at the same time thrusting the handle of the blade on his chest. Fei Hong wanted to use his other (left) hand to draw his fan but instead does a punch to block the blade’s handle. Jiu Du strikes using his other blade . Fei Hong uses his left hand to grab Jiu Di’s right wrist and throws Jiu Di to his left side. But in that instance Jiu Di screams and his body seems to have become a heavy wall and Fei Hong is unable to throw him down. Suddenly Jiu Di hits Fei Hong sending him flying down. He intends to get up but Jiu Di stamps his feet on Fei Hong’s back while pointing his blade at Fei Hong’s carotid artery.

-As Yuan Xing exits the temple he is shocked that Fei Hong is such a situation and that there is only 1 enemy. Tong Jing and Jing Lie are also with him. Jiu Di sheathes his blade and picks up Fei Hong’s sword. 21 years ago when he was 30 years old, he was the head of Mi Zong Sect HQ’s ‘Inner Disciple’ ( Equivalent of Qing Cheng Sect’s Dao Chuan Disciple) Back then he has been thinking about gaining fame and finally he has gotten permission to roam around to train. Though the condition is that he is not allowed to duel other sect members especially those from the 9 Great Sects. As he travelled around he understood that many people view Mi Zong Sect as the lower end of the 9 Great Sects, he feels indignant and resents that the ‘6 mountains’ are more respected than the ‘3 Doors’. Since he is not allowed to duel other sect members, he decides to test his skills on bandits. There was once when he was together with many others to deal with bandits and 1 of them was Lian Fei Hong who just took over the mantle of Kong Tong Sect Leader. There was 1 night when he had many drink, he’s angry that Fei Hong who is 10 years older than him is being respected by the others. So he requested a duel and in the end he was defeated. Jiu Di then returns to Cang Zhou (Prefecture) to train and has never revealed himself in front of the people of Wu Lin for the past 21 years. Fei Hong starts thinking about that incident, even though he won it wasn’t a easy victory. Back then he had a deep impression on Jiu Di’s ‘Yan Qing Mi Pu’ technique and knew that Jiu Di’s journey ahead would be limitless. But he never expected Jiu Di to be this strong; especially with his peculiar martial arts and his extraordinary ‘Jie Xiang’ shifting ability. Fei Hong wonders what did Jiu Di imagined when he knocked Fei Hong back at the last part. He took the fight 21 years ago as just a game and never told anyone about it (it was also a close door fight) . He never expected Jiu Di to take the defeat as such a big humiliation. Through their fight earlier, he feels that Jiu Di martial arts is inspired by Kong Tong’s ‘Ba Da Jue’ techniques . Generally speaking for a martial artist to make huge improvements one must have exceptional insight so as to notice one’s weaknesses and to improve upon them. But Jiu Di took upon another path ; all these years imagining Fei Hong as an enemy while relying on a scary obsession to change his Mi Zong Sect martial arts. He can be considered a genius for being able to charter towards a new territory in his martial arts in his mid age.

-Jing Lie & co don’t know about the full situation regarding ‘Yu Wu Ling’. Jing Lie engages Jiu Di in a conversation so as to distract him. When Mi Zong Sect received the Imperial Decree, there is another order saying that those who presents Po Men Liu Jian’s heads will be bestowed upon a golden seal , which unofficially makes them the head of those who received the ‘Zhong Yi Wu Ji’.

-Mi Zong Sect has been looked down upon for many years. Jiu Di wants the whole world to know that Mi Zong Sect is the number 1 sect. He isn’t doing this because he is afraid of Wudang Sect needing the protection of Imperial Court. On the contrary he is eager to deal with Wudang Sect. Fei Hong asks his comrades to disregard his safety and kill Jiu Di but Jing Lie asks Jiu Di not to kill Fei Hong but him. This scenario reminds him of the situation where Sun Wu Yue asks him to kill Jiang Yun Lan and ignore him. Jing Lie don’t want to lose another companion. By the time Jiu Di realizes that there only 4 of them when there should be 5, Yan Heng attacks him. Yan Heng manages to creep behind Jiu Di by putting on camouflage. Jiu Di uses ‘Jie Xiang: Jun Feng ( army wind)’ to clash his sword against Yan Heng’s. Because Jiu Di’s attack is premature he is forced to relax his footing on Fei Hong. Fei Hong tries to roll away while Jing Lie throws his spear at Jiu Di’s legs. Jiu Di jumps away while slashing at Fei Hong . Yan Heng continues his attack to prevent Jiu Di from attacking Fei Hong again while Fei Hong uses this chance to grab Jing Lie’s spear allowing him to pull Fei Hong out of harm’s way. (Jing Lie’s spear is actually the spearhead attached on to the chain) Jiu Di intents to go after Fei Hong but Yan Heng interferes. Jiu Di abandons Fei Hong ‘s sword and thrusts out his palms. Suddenly Yan Heng’s dual swords seems to be bounded by something and cannot be moved. Jiu Di moves pass Yan Heng but Yuan Xing arrives and stalls him while Tong Jing arrives besides Fei Hong. Jiu Di is furious about missing the chance to kill Fei Hong. His expression changes to somewhat demonic, similar to when he knocked Fei Hong back. There is this sudden weird strength and he forces Yuan Xing’s rod back.

-6 years ago when Wudang started their conquest, Jiu Di is unwilling to accept it and decides to defeat Wudang. He heard that for the past 20 years Wudang skills increased tremendously because of Wu Yi Cult’s knowledge. This inspired him to look into evil cults’ methods to improves his martial arts. And so for the past 5 years , Jiu Di has been learning White Lotus Cult’s ‘Shen Gong” ( God’s Power).It is similar to ‘Jie Xiang’ .But the difference is that ‘Jie Xiang’ is drawn from natural image, and by combining it with long and tough training the user’s mind is clear when used. While ‘God’s Power’ is a speedy method using incantations and rituals to numb the mind, completely giving oneself to that imagined God while usually losing control. Seeing the similarities between the both Jiu Di took the risks and train. As a result of his training he made a breakthrough allowing him to quickly change and sustain his ‘Jie Xiang’ but it is harmful to his mind resulting in his temperament becomes more surly .

-Jiu Di imagines himself as a god , gaining incredible strength. Jiu Di forces Yuan Xing down to 1 knee before slashing at Yuan Xing. Yuan Xing tries to dodge by rolling away but loses a couple of his hair. Jiu Di continues his attack and slices Yuan Xing’s left calf.

-It is actually a group of thin black thread with small hooks that is wrapping onto Yan Heng’s swords. He slices through the threads and continues his assault on Yan Heng. Jiu Di is already in ‘God’s Descend’ mode ( God’s Power + Jie Xiang) , whereby he imagines himself to be possessed by a god. He slashes at Yan Heng forcing Yan Heng to change his attack halfway to block 1 slash but instead got slashed 3 times. Yan Heng enters a state whereby he ignores life and death and that makes him faster, but still he could not keep up with Jiu Di’s speed. Unlike Jiu Di ,his stamina is depleting and gets slashed a few more times. Initially he is confident about dealing with Jiu Di since he has dealt with Mi Zong Sect people in Xi An but now his confidence is dwindling. As Jiu Di continues his assault he senses a gathering of power at his left side. It is Jing Lie who is using his ‘Lang Hua Zhan Tie Shi’( the one where he stands on 1 leg before propelling himself forward ) in between the space of Jiu Di and Yan Heng. There is 30-40% chance of hitting Yan Heng but he has got no other choice. The speed of that blade strike is even faster than that of Jiu Di’s blade strike , Jiu Di stops his assault on Yan Heng and attempts to dodge the attack. The strike strikes Jiu Di and not Yan Heng. Yan Heng kneels down and is panting very heavily. Jiu Di is standing still. He exits the ‘God’s Descend’ mode. There is a thin scar line on his left shoulder but without any blood flowing out. Yuan Xing and Jing Lie stares at Jiu Di in disbelief . They both know that the slash connected Jiu Di and yet he is standing there as if nothing happened. Jiu DI says that this is all for today. He warns them that his Sect’s members have already surrounded the forest and that they will die here. He then throws a smoke bomb before escaping.

-The glimmer of light that Fei Hong 1st saw earlier on in the north isn’t Jiu Di’s but one of the guys who belonged to the group who attacked Yuan Xing earlier on. He is forced to do this by Jiu Di. Po Men Liu Jian tend to their wounds but Fei Hong is still bleeding profusely. Yuan Xing wonders why Jiu Di retreats , Jing Lie holds up his blade which has a thin line of blood.
Yuan Xing: Among us all there is probably no one who can fight 1 on 1 - no other than you Jing Lie .If you have fully recovered you can fight with him.The hound that Yuan Xing releases early on returns here.

-After making sure that there is no one around , Jiu Di stops and rests while applying a medicine patch on his wounded shoulder. Even after applying pressure on the wound blood keeps on flowing out. Jing Lie’s blade strike did in fact slash into Jiu Di’s shoulder, it’s just that he tighten the muscles around the wound making it looks as if it is not bleeding. Back then it would be hard for Jiu Di to continue fighting cause should he exert strength on his left hand he would lose control on the muscle tightening. Secondly it’s because he is too tired. Even though ‘God’s Descend’ has immense power, using it drains a lot of energy in a short period of time. Jiu Di thinks back about Jing Lie’s strike. This is the first time he has gotten hit in a battle in his 21 years after his defeat to Fei Hong. What is even more unbelievable is that it is done by someone who has serious injuries on his hand and leg. He takes out a flute and sends a signal to his Mi Zong Sect Disciples

Hall of Mastery #35: About the White Lotus Cult.

-Hu Ling Lan enters Xiang Yang City in disguise. She is continuing her search to find a cure for Jing Lie. Ling Lan is in a restaurant listening to others talk about Po Men Liu Jian. In actual fact inside the ‘Yu Wu Ling’ there wasn’t written anything about them committing crimes like stealing gold from government officials and not even about anyone who kills Po Men Liu Jian can get the medal. All these lies are what Li Jun Yuan ordered Yan Tong Qing to spread around. There are 2 reasons for it : (1) Gather many men to Jiang Xi so that Tong Qing can recruit them, (2) If those without the medal manages to kill Po Men Liu Jian and can’t get rewarded by the Imperial court, they will resent the Imperial Court as they will feel cheated that the Imperial Court used them. And as a result it would be advantageous to the Prince of Ning when the times come. Right now the news that Wudang Sect refused the Imperial Decree have spread out.

-Ling Lang accidentally meets up with Huo Yao Hua and Xi Xiao Yan. Ling Lang clashes with Yao Hua but Xiao Yan intervenes and stop the fight. Xiao Yan always wanted to meet Ling Lan. But now that they have met he doesn’t know what to say. Yao Hua tells her that she left WDK. Basically she left WDK 5 months ago. Back then Xi Xiao Yan and Huao Yao Hua are surprised that they’re looking for the same person. She wants Xi Xiao Yan as backing to escape from WDK. His condition is that when he meets up with Jing Lie he must duel with Jing Lie first. Ling Lan explains that Jing Lie is injured and cannot fight Xiao Yan even if they met. Xiao Yan wants Jing Lie to fully recover. Ling Lan explains Jing Lie’s injures . Xiao Yan says that if it is a joint and tendon problem then they can use ‘Tui jie Cream’ which is from Wudang. But is a vigorous medicine and can worsen the situation. Xiao Yan propose to head back to Wudang to take the medicine for Jing Lie. Xiao Yan decides to find the Wudang ‘Shou She’ Division person situated in Xian Yang City. He left behind a sign waiting to be contacted but for 3 days there is still no response. Yao Hua deduces that that person is dead, that Wudang Sect is about to face a big crisis and that the Shou She Division person was killed so that Wudang Sect wouldn’t know about the situation outside. There has to be a spy in Wudang Sect since such people cannot be killed off so easily. She says that they have to leave now.

-2 months before this , in the capital. Li Jun Yuan discusses with Qian Ning about the Pince of Ning’s plans. He asks Qian Ning to do something. Basically to convince the Emperor to move his troops against Wudang Sect. Not just any troops but the Shen Ji Ying ( Divine Engine Division), which specialize in using firearms which is also 1 of the 3 elite military division. One of the Prince of Ning’s wishes is to be able to free the 3th Wudang Vice Leader . Another is that when the Divine Engine Div is mobilized some firearms will be delivered to the Prince of Ning. Qian Ning will be heavily rewarded with this.

-2 days later together with Song Li , Qian Ning manages to convince the Emperor to mobilize the troops against Wudang Sect. Song Li is excited as this is her best chance to exact revenge against Wudang Sect. Even though she is happy there is this emptiness inside her as if she died. She is thinking about Yan Heng and how she wished he could have heard everything. She is thinking about what he would think about the situation, will he feel that after practicing the way of the sword that this situation would be very funny? Will he regret the day he gave up on her? She wonders where is he, if he is still on his journey for revenge or perhaps he is already dead without even killing any Wudang members or… But in the end Song Li thinks that it doesn’t matter.

-Mi Zong Sect disciples are continuing their assault on Po Men Liu Jian. There are 101+ members split into 10 groups. In Dong San Qiao’s group there is only him and 3 others left. Somehow Po Men Liu Jian seems to know where they are. Then they saw a hound and realizes that Po Men Liu Jian have been relying on the hound’s keen sense of smell to figure out their location. Dong San Qiao’s group is ambushed and all of them are killed. Dong San Qiao is killed by Yan Heng. Po Men Liu Jian start to head out of the forest. Fei Hong is in a terrible shape. He lost a lot of blood, coupled with the infected blade wounds and fatigue resulting in his body being very weak.

-After exiting the forest a group of 20-30 people are approaching on horseback. Yan Heng passed the wood carving that he has been making for the past few days to Tong Jing. He walks to the front when the group of people stopped. Yuan Xing says that they’re from the 8 Trigrams Sect. Their leader approaches , he is 50+ years old and is the shortest guy among them, he is also carrying onto a double handed long sword that doesn’t suit his height. He announces himself as Yin Ying Feng. He is the leader of 8 Trigram Sect, brother of Yin Ying Chuan. It is said that in his prime he sparred with Emei Sect, after which Emei Sect Leader ‘God Dragon 8 Spear’ Yu Qin Lin mentioned that Yin Ying Feng’s sword is the only thing capable of breaking his Emei Sect God Spear. Yan Heng continues pointing his sword at Ying Feng saying that he can unsheathe his sword. Ying Feng takes out a letter saying that 20 days ago he received a letter from Men Qi He who insisted on passing the letter on to him. Initially he has no intention on coming after Po Men Liu Jian but after receiving the letter he immediately moves out. After seeing that the letter is from Wang Shou Ren the rest put down their weapons and gather forward. After knowing about the order to kill Po Men Liu Jian , Shou Ren was very worried but knowing that he doesn’t have enough power to change the situation he writes a letter asking Meng Qi He to deliver it to Yin Ying Feng. Shou Ren isn’t part of the Wulin but he is a world renown Confucian and his character is admired by others. Shou Ren explains how Po Men Liu Jian helped the citizens of Lu Ling City to fight against WDK, and is definitely not like how everyone mentioned them to be. Ying Feng is so deeply touched that he left immediately. Yan Heng apologises for being rude. They decides to leave the area.

- In Yuan Zhou(Prefecture)’s most famous restaurant are Dai Kui and 77 Mi Zong Sect People. Dai Kui knows that Mi Zong Sect is here to destroy Po Men Liu Jian. Zeng Qing Feng from Mi Zong Sect recognizes Dai Kui as a Xin Yi Sect member due to his dressing and posture. It is revealed that there will be 300 Mi Zong Sect members gathering here in 2 days and that Mi Zong Sect's Leader "Yun Ying Shen Xing" Lei Jiu Di will be arriving as well. Then information arrives stating that there are some people from other Sects getting ready as if they have found 1 of Po Men Liu Jian. Dai Kui and the Mi Zong Sect people head out to that location. Dai Kui don't get to hear the name Lei Jiu Di a lot, the deepest impression of him was when his master once said that Lei Jiu Di is totally different from the rest of the Mi Zong Sect people. And at that moment his eyes revealed a slight fearful look. There are very few people in the world who can make "Jin Zhong Shen Quan" Yan Shi Bang show that kind of expression in his eyes. He then said that Lei Jiu Di is a lunatic. Dai Kui heard that in the recent few years Lei Jiu Di isn't at Cang Zhou(prefecture) but rather secluding himself to train , and in the process he did not quit the position of Mi Zong Sect's leader resulting in Mi Zong Sect without a proper leader. This explains why last year at Xi An there's only less than 20 Mi Zong Sect disciples there.

-Many people are gathering outside a building where Po Men Liu Jian are suspected of being situated in. There are many sects that did not receive the ' Zhong Yong Wu Ji' medal, but there is a rumour that should anyone of Po Men Liu Jian be killed they will be bestowed upon the medal. There are also many rumours regarding the medal. Some says that the medal can pardons one from death sentences other than serious offences like rebellion. As a result many people are setting their sights on it. The people surrounding the building start their assault. But the person inside is Xing Ying ( Lian Fei Hong’s disciple).

-Dai Kui & co arrives. He dashes in intending to help Po Men Liu Jian out. But at this moment Pang Tian Shun comes out with Xing Ying. He introduces himself and bluffs the others saying that Xing Ying is his Shi Mei. ( If the others know that she is from Kong Tong Sect they won’t let her go so easily) Dai Kui recognizes Xing Ying as Lian Fei Hong’s disciple . The others looks at them and don’t think that they’re from Po Men Liu Jian.

-2 months ago Kong Tong Sect received the Imperial Decree. Xing Ying left immediately to find his master. Dai Kui, Xing Ying and Pan Tian Shun start talking . Tian Shun tells them about his encounter with Yan Heng and Tong Jing. They move off to find Po Men Liu Jian.

Hall of Master #34: Difference between ‘Doors’ and ‘Sect’s

-In the forest. 7 hunting dogs attack Yuan Xing. He scares 5 of them away & releases 1 instead of killing it. Their owners are afraid to attack him and follows him as he returns back to their hideout in a temple. But on the way they are ambushed by Fei Hong. Yan Heng is standing guard on the roof. They are in pretty bad condition ; they haven’t bathe for a very long time, they’re tired from the countless assaults and they can’t sleep peacefully because of it. Jing Lie is wondering how will Ling Lan find them, he doesn’t want to let her down and wants to show her a stronger him when she returns. It’s only after she left that he knows how precious she is to him. These few days he has been thinking on how to improve by not relying on his left arm and right leg.

-Even after doing sentry duty for so long , Yan Heng failed to notice that there is a figure in the south observing the temple. That man is dressed in black, he keeps on muttering to himself. He intends to attack Po Men Liu Jian when they’re off guard and when they do not have enough rest. He mutters to himself : “The 1st one is the old man. Must kill, kill them all.” He tells himself not to be anxious and starts eating meat.

-Lian Fei Hong is in a dream reminiscing of a time when he was 27 years old. Back then he’s only a ‘Dao Chuan Disciple’ but he’s confident that he is the future Kong Tong Sect Leader. His master Ling Ao Yi taught him 4 of the ‘Ba Da Jue’ techniques 6 years ago. And there is no one like him in Kong Tong Sect for the past 60-70 years. Back then he is in a bathtub with his lover beside him. He wants his lover to marry him. But she says that eventually he will leave her , she knows that in his right hand is a small knife .She says that even in such circumstances he can’t let go of the knife, that they’re both very clear that the most important thing in his life is definitely not her.

-He opens his eyes. He rarely thinks about stuff during his younger days. He wonders if he is really getting old. This dream reminds him of what he missed out and what he sacrificed to follow the path of his sword. He looks at Tong Jing. Right now looking at her growth is his greatest joy which even surpasses his desire to fight strong enemies. Even though it is not his turn to do sentry duty , he takes over Jing Lie. Fei Hong is thankful to be with Jing Lie & co as he have had such an exciting year. He don’t know how much longer he can enjoy such fighting days. Jing Lie has never thought about himself being old. But now after hearing all these he does. He has no worries if he can still be like Fei Hong at such a age. If Jing Lie father isn’t wrong, Jing Lie should be 27 years old this year.
-Fei Hong observes a ray of light in the south and deduce it to be the moonlight reflection off a sword. He observes another ray of light and a shadow moving. He starts to move away from the wall, but at that moment he is in disbelief as he senses a killing aura very near behind him. He wonders who in the world is capable of moving without a sound towards his back. Knowing that he don’t have enough time to turn around , he uses his rod to propels himself forward. He leans forward and bends his head downwards resulting in the incoming projectile scraping his shoulder. He drops his rod and throws a throwing blade in between his legs but his assailant dodges it. He never hoped for that to connect but merely to stop his enemy from advancing immediately . He is shocked when he saw the motion of his assailant’s body to be quicker than he imagined. He drop and rolls away trying to put more distance between the both of them. They are around 7-8 steps away which is the throwing blade’s ideal effective range, he throws another throwing blade but again his assailant dodges it. Fei Hong then remembers that he has encounter such strange movements before; Mi Zong Sect’s Yan Qing Mi Pu (something like Swallow Green Crazy Steps). He looks at his assailant again and without a doubt he figures out that his assailant is Mi Zong Sect’s leader ‘Yun Yin Shen Xing’ Lei Jiu Di. Lei Jiu Di throws a 3-point Swallow Dart ( basically a dart with black ink applied over it). Jiu Di advances and Fei Hong dodges while retreating. Knowing that he is at a disadvantage , he changes tactics ; advancing with his sword and blade. Likewise Jiu Di draws out 2 blades . Despite belonging to different sects, their martial arts habit and movements are astonishingly similar. His sword is only halfway through the attack motion when Jiu Di’s blade reaches first and clashes against it. He isn’t surprised that Jiu Di’s ‘Ming Tang Quick Blade’ technique is so fast but rather at the strength of the attack and at how much Jiu Di has grown . He aims his blade at Jiu Di ‘s left rib . Jiu Di uses the same move and both of their blades clash. In that instant Fei Hong looks into Jiu Di’s eyes. There is a strange expression in his eyes, similar to that of WDK. From the start till now Fei Hong don’t even have the time to face the temple and shout for help. But even if he could he wouldn’t. How could he ask for help to deal with someone whom he once defeated. Jiu Di continues his assault. Using ‘Jie Xiang’ : Jun Feng ( Army Wind), he imagines himself in Cang Zhou’s ( Prefecture ) snowstorm unleashing strikes while resisting against the wind. But in reality there is no violent snowstorm to oppose his strikes, resulting in a increase in the speed of his blades’ strikes. In a blink of an eye he unleashes 9 strikes while his attack speed which was influenced by ‘Jie Xiang’ did not slow down at all. ‘Jie Xiang’ is the highest level martial arts technique. It is not easy to control and it requires the person to fully concentrate in his thoughts as a result it is very tiring and cannot be maintained for too long. Which is why martial arts experts will use it as a all-out attack, like when Qing Cheng Sect Leader He Zi Sheng used the image of a tiger moving down a hill to use ‘Tiger Pounces’ which uses encompasses 3 strikes and that is already nearing the human limit. Lei Jiu Di manages to unleash 9 strikes while using ‘Jie Xiang’ without any signs of decline, the load on his mind must be unimaginable. Fei Hong tries his best by countering with 9 strikes as well but after that he feels breathless and is unable to continue. He knows that he has to change his attack and before Jiu Di could do a tenth strike, he uses ‘Flying Method’ to throws his blade at Jiu Di. Jiu Di changes his ‘ Jie Xiang’ imagining himself floating in between the waters , slanting his body to dodge the attack. To be able to change his ‘Jie Xiang’ from a violent one to a gentle one is to change his fully concentrated thoughts without any obstruction which is something ordinary people can’t do.

-Jiu Di attacks him again and manages to pin his sword in front of his body . This time round Jiu Di changes his ‘Jie Xiang’ imagining his body as a 1000 pound rock that is falling, using the force to apply pressure on Fei Hong at the same time thrusting the handle of the blade on his chest. Fei Hong wanted to use his other (left) hand to draw his fan but instead does a punch to block the blade’s handle. Jiu Du strikes using his other blade . Fei Hong uses his left hand to grab Jiu Di’s right wrist and throws Jiu Di to his left side. But in that instance Jiu Di screams and his body seems to have become a heavy wall and Fei Hong is unable to throw him down. Suddenly Jiu Di hits Fei Hong sending him flying down. He intends to get up but Jiu Di stamps his feet on Fei Hong’s back while pointing his blade at Fei Hong’s carotid artery.

-As Yuan Xing exits the temple he is shocked that Fei Hong is such a situation and that there is only 1 enemy. Tong Jing and Jing Lie are also with him. Jiu Di sheathes his blade and picks up Fei Hong’s sword. 21 years ago when he was 30 years old, he was the head of Mi Zong Sect HQ’s ‘Inner Disciple’ ( Equivalent of Qing Cheng Sect’s Dao Chuan Disciple) Back then he has been thinking about gaining fame and finally he has gotten permission to roam around to train. Though the condition is that he is not allowed to duel other sect members especially those from the 9 Great Sects. As he travelled around he understood that many people view Mi Zong Sect as the lower end of the 9 Great Sects, he feels indignant and resents that the ‘6 mountains’ are more respected than the ‘3 Doors’. Since he is not allowed to duel other sect members, he decides to test his skills on bandits. There was once when he was together with many others to deal with bandits and 1 of them was Lian Fei Hong who just took over the mantle of Kong Tong Sect Leader. There was 1 night when he had many drink, he’s angry that Fei Hong who is 10 years older than him is being respected by the others. So he requested a duel and in the end he was defeated. Jiu Di then returns to Cang Zhou (Prefecture) to train and has never revealed himself in front of the people of Wu Lin for the past 21 years. Fei Hong starts thinking about that incident, even though he won it wasn’t a easy victory. Back then he had a deep impression on Jiu Di’s ‘Yan Qing Mi Pu’ technique and knew that Jiu Di’s journey ahead would be limitless. But he never expected Jiu Di to be this strong; especially with his peculiar martial arts and his extraordinary ‘Jie Xiang’ shifting ability. Fei Hong wonders what did Jiu Di imagined when he knocked Fei Hong back at the last part. He took the fight 21 years ago as just a game and never told anyone about it (it was also a close door fight) . He never expected Jiu Di to take the defeat as such a big humiliation. Through their fight earlier, he feels that Jiu Di martial arts is inspired by Kong Tong’s ‘Ba Da Jue’ techniques . Generally speaking for a martial artist to make huge improvements one must have exceptional insight so as to notice one’s weaknesses and to improve upon them. But Jiu Di took upon another path ; all these years imagining Fei Hong as an enemy while relying on a scary obsession to change his Mi Zong Sect martial arts. He can be considered a genius for being able to charter towards a new territory in his martial arts in his mid age.

-Jing Lie & co don’t know about the full situation regarding ‘Yu Wu Ling’. Jing Lie engages Jiu Di in a conversation so as to distract him. When Mi Zong Sect received the Imperial Decree, there is another order saying that those who presents Po Men Liu Jian’s heads will be bestowed upon a golden seal , which unofficially makes them the head of those who received the ‘Zhong Yi Wu Ji’.

-Mi Zong Sect has been looked down upon for many years. Jiu Di wants the whole world to know that Mi Zong Sect is the number 1 sect. He isn’t doing this because he is afraid of Wudang Sect needing the protection of Imperial Court. On the contrary he is eager to deal with Wudang Sect. Fei Hong asks his comrades to disregard his safety and kill Jiu Di but Jing Lie asks Jiu Di not to kill Fei Hong but him. This scenario reminds him of the situation where Sun Wu Yue asks him to kill Jiang Yun Lan and ignore him. Jing Lie don’t want to lose another companion. By the time Jiu Di realizes that there only 4 of them when there should be 5, Yan Heng attacks him. Yan Heng manages to creep behind Jiu Di by putting on camouflage. Jiu Di uses ‘Jie Xiang: Jun Feng ( army wind)’ to clash his sword against Yan Heng’s. Because Jiu Di’s attack is premature he is forced to relax his footing on Fei Hong. Fei Hong tries to roll away while Jing Lie throws his spear at Jiu Di’s legs. Jiu Di jumps away while slashing at Fei Hong . Yan Heng continues his attack to prevent Jiu Di from attacking Fei Hong again while Fei Hong uses this chance to grab Jing Lie’s spear allowing him to pull Fei Hong out of harm’s way. (Jing Lie’s spear is actually the spearhead attached on to the chain) Jiu Di intents to go after Fei Hong but Yan Heng interferes. Jiu Di abandons Fei Hong ‘s sword and thrusts out his palms. Suddenly Yan Heng’s dual swords seems to be bounded by something and cannot be moved. Jiu Di moves pass Yan Heng but Yuan Xing arrives and stalls him while Tong Jing arrives besides Fei Hong. Jiu Di is furious about missing the chance to kill Fei Hong. His expression changes to somewhat demonic, similar to when he knocked Fei Hong back. There is this sudden weird strength and he forces Yuan Xing’s rod back.

-6 years ago when Wudang started their conquest, Jiu Di is unwilling to accept it and decides to defeat Wudang. He heard that for the past 20 years Wudang skills increased tremendously because of Wu Yi Cult’s knowledge. This inspired him to look into evil cults’ methods to improves his martial arts. And so for the past 5 years , Jiu Di has been learning White Lotus Cult’s ‘Shen Gong” ( God’s Power).It is similar to ‘Jie Xiang’ .But the difference is that ‘Jie Xiang’ is drawn from natural image, and by combining it with long and tough training the user’s mind is clear when used. While ‘God’s Power’ is a speedy method using incantations and rituals to numb the mind, completely giving oneself to that imagined God while usually losing control. Seeing the similarities between the both Jiu Di took the risks and train. As a result of his training he made a breakthrough allowing him to quickly change and sustain his ‘Jie Xiang’ but it is harmful to his mind resulting in his temperament becomes more surly .

-Jiu Di imagines himself as a god , gaining incredible strength. Jiu Di forces Yuan Xing down to 1 knee before slashing at Yuan Xing. Yuan Xing tries to dodge by rolling away but loses a couple of his hair. Jiu Di continues his attack and slices Yuan Xing’s left calf.

-It is actually a group of thin black thread with small hooks that is wrapping onto Yan Heng’s swords. He slices through the threads and continues his assault on Yan Heng. Jiu Di is already in ‘God’s Descend’ mode ( God’s Power + Jie Xiang) , whereby he imagines himself to be possessed by a god. He slashes at Yan Heng forcing Yan Heng to change his attack halfway to block 1 slash but instead got slashed 3 times. Yan Heng enters a state whereby he ignores life and death and that makes him faster, but still he could not keep up with Jiu Di’s speed. Unlike Jiu Di ,his stamina is depleting and gets slashed a few more times. Initially he is confident about dealing with Jiu Di since he has dealt with Mi Zong Sect people in Xi An but now his confidence is dwindling. As Jiu Di continues his assault he senses a gathering of power at his left side. It is Jing Lie who is using his ‘Lang Hua Zhan Tie Shi’( the one where he stands on 1 leg before propelling himself forward ) in between the space of Jiu Di and Yan Heng. There is 30-40% chance of hitting Yan Heng but he has got no other choice. The speed of that blade strike is even faster than that of Jiu Di’s blade strike , Jiu Di stops his assault on Yan Heng and attempts to dodge the attack. The strike strikes Jiu Di and not Yan Heng. Yan Heng kneels down and is panting very heavily. Jiu Di is standing still. He exits the ‘God’s Descend’ mode. There is a thin scar line on his left shoulder but without any blood flowing out. Yuan Xing and Jing Lie stares at Jiu Di in disbelief . They both know that the slash connected Jiu Di and yet he is standing there as if nothing happened. Jiu DI says that this is all for today. He warns them that his Sect’s members have already surrounded the forest and that they will die here. He then throws a smoke bomb before escaping.

-The glimmer of light that Fei Hong 1st saw earlier on in the north isn’t Jiu Di’s but one of the guys who belonged to the group who attacked Yuan Xing earlier on. He is forced to do this by Jiu Di. Po Men Liu Jian tend to their wounds but Fei Hong is still bleeding profusely. Yuan Xing wonders why Jiu Di retreats , Jing Lie holds up his blade which has a thin line of blood.
Yuan Xing: Among us all there is probably no one who can fight 1 on 1 - no other than you Jing Lie .If you have fully recovered you can fight with him.The hound that Yuan Xing releases early on returns here.

-After making sure that there is no one around , Jiu Di stops and rests while applying a medicine patch on his wounded shoulder. Even after applying pressure on the wound blood keeps on flowing out. Jing Lie’s blade strike did in fact slash into Jiu Di’s shoulder, it’s just that he tighten the muscles around the wound making it looks as if it is not bleeding. Back then it would be hard for Jiu Di to continue fighting cause should he exert strength on his left hand he would lose control on the muscle tightening. Secondly it’s because he is too tired. Even though ‘God’s Descend’ has immense power, using it drains a lot of energy in a short period of time. Jiu Di thinks back about Jing Lie’s strike. This is the first time he has gotten hit in a battle in his 21 years after his defeat to Fei Hong. What is even more unbelievable is that it is done by someone who has serious injuries on his hand and leg. He takes out a flute and sends a signal to his Mi Zong Sect Disciples

Hall of Mastery #35: About the White Lotus Cult.

-Hu Ling Lan enters Xiang Yang City in disguise. She is continuing her search to find a cure for Jing Lie. Ling Lan is in a restaurant listening to others talk about Po Men Liu Jian. In actual fact inside the ‘Yu Wu Ling’ there wasn’t written anything about them committing crimes like stealing gold from government officials and not even about anyone who kills Po Men Liu Jian can get the medal. All these lies are what Li Jun Yuan ordered Yan Tong Qing to spread around. There are 2 reasons for it : (1) Gather many men to Jiang Xi so that Tong Qing can recruit them, (2) If those without the medal manages to kill Po Men Liu Jian and can’t get rewarded by the Imperial court, they will resent the Imperial Court as they will feel cheated that the Imperial Court used them. And as a result it would be advantageous to the Prince of Ning when the times come. Right now the news that Wudang Sect refused the Imperial Decree have spread out.

-Ling Lang accidentally meets up with Huo Yao Hua and Xi Xiao Yan. Ling Lang clashes with Yao Hua but Xiao Yan intervenes and stop the fight. Xiao Yan always wanted to meet Ling Lan. But now that they have met he doesn’t know what to say. Yao Hua tells her that she left WDK. Basically she left WDK 5 months ago. Back then Xi Xiao Yan and Huao Yao Hua are surprised that they’re looking for the same person. She wants Xi Xiao Yan as backing to escape from WDK. His condition is that when he meets up with Jing Lie he must duel with Jing Lie first. Ling Lan explains that Jing Lie is injured and cannot fight Xiao Yan even if they met. Xiao Yan wants Jing Lie to fully recover. Ling Lan explains Jing Lie’s injures . Xiao Yan says that if it is a joint and tendon problem then they can use ‘Tui jie Cream’ which is from Wudang. But is a vigorous medicine and can worsen the situation. Xiao Yan propose to head back to Wudang to take the medicine for Jing Lie. Xiao Yan decides to find the Wudang ‘Shou She’ Division person situated in Xian Yang City. He left behind a sign waiting to be contacted but for 3 days there is still no response. Yao Hua deduces that that person is dead, that Wudang Sect is about to face a big crisis and that the Shou She Division person was killed so that Wudang Sect wouldn’t know about the situation outside. There has to be a spy in Wudang Sect since such people cannot be killed off so easily. She says that they have to leave now.

-2 months before this , in the capital. Li Jun Yuan discusses with Qian Ning about the Pince of Ning’s plans. He asks Qian Ning to do something. Basically to convince the Emperor to move his troops against Wudang Sect. Not just any troops but the Shen Ji Ying ( Divine Engine Division), which specialize in using firearms which is also 1 of the 3 elite military division. One of the Prince of Ning’s wishes is to be able to free the 3th Wudang Vice Leader . Another is that when the Divine Engine Div is mobilized some firearms will be delivered to the Prince of Ning. Qian Ning will be heavily rewarded with this.

-2 days later together with Song Li , Qian Ning manages to convince the Emperor to mobilize the troops against Wudang Sect. Song Li is excited as this is her best chance to exact revenge against Wudang Sect. Even though she is happy there is this emptiness inside her as if she died. She is thinking about Yan Heng and how she wished he could have heard everything. She is thinking about what he would think about the situation, will he feel that after practicing the way of the sword that this situation would be very funny? Will he regret the day he gave up on her? She wonders where is he, if he is still on his journey for revenge or perhaps he is already dead without even killing any Wudang members or… But in the end Song Li thinks that it doesn’t matter.

-Mi Zong Sect disciples are continuing their assault on Po Men Liu Jian. There are 101+ members split into 10 groups. In Dong San Qiao’s group there is only him and 3 others left. Somehow Po Men Liu Jian seems to know where they are. Then they saw a hound and realizes that Po Men Liu Jian have been relying on the hound’s keen sense of smell to figure out their location. Dong San Qiao’s group is ambushed and all of them are killed. Dong San Qiao is killed by Yan Heng. Po Men Liu Jian start to head out of the forest. Fei Hong is in a terrible shape. He lost a lot of blood, coupled with the infected blade wounds and fatigue resulting in his body being very weak.

-After exiting the forest a group of 20-30 people are approaching on horseback. Yan Heng passed the wood carving that he has been making for the past few days to Tong Jing. He walks to the front when the group of people stopped. Yuan Xing says that they’re from the 8 Trigrams Sect. Their leader approaches , he is 50+ years old and is the shortest guy among them, he is also carrying onto a double handed long sword that doesn’t suit his height. He announces himself as Yin Ying Feng. He is the leader of 8 Trigram Sect, brother of Yin Ying Chuan. It is said that in his prime he sparred with Emei Sect, after which Emei Sect Leader ‘God Dragon 8 Spear’ Yu Qin Lin mentioned that Yin Ying Feng’s sword is the only thing capable of breaking his Emei Sect God Spear. Yan Heng continues pointing his sword at Ying Feng saying that he can unsheathe his sword. Ying Feng takes out a letter saying that 20 days ago he received a letter from Men Qi He who insisted on passing the letter on to him. Initially he has no intention on coming after Po Men Liu Jian but after receiving the letter he immediately moves out. After seeing that the letter is from Wang Shou Ren the rest put down their weapons and gather forward. After knowing about the order to kill Po Men Liu Jian , Shou Ren was very worried but knowing that he doesn’t have enough power to change the situation he writes a letter asking Meng Qi He to deliver it to Yin Ying Feng. Shou Ren isn’t part of the Wulin but he is a world renown Confucian and his character is admired by others. Shou Ren explains how Po Men Liu Jian helped the citizens of Lu Ling City to fight against WDK, and is definitely not like how everyone mentioned them to be. Ying Feng is so deeply touched that he left immediately. Yan Heng apologises for being rude. They decides to leave the area.
