Re: Volume Cover and Official Art Thread

I just buy the Japanese volumes. Not all of them, but I started collecting them after volume 16. Mainly because I love omake. I don't even understand Japanse. But I think its nice to support the author, since we have the privilege of reading Beelzebub for free. Heck, I'd totally subscribe to Jump Alpha if they ran Beelzebub. I think it its a good mix of different things that American Jump readers would enjoy.

That being said,I read somewhere the chances of it getting licensed in English is almost nil. I just don't think Viz considers it popular enough (and Psyren was REALLY POPULAR in the English-speaking fandom that it worked in its favor, but its a rare example).

    Volume 22 cover:

Well played. This was my least favorite arc, so I'm glad its just a cute image of Beel and his future friends as oppose to anything else.

    Also, how sneaky of Tamura:

    Cover of issue 22-23

Oga and Beel are the "heroes" and Furuichi is the "rival". Now that's unexpected!

Re: Volume Cover and Official Art Thread

If I'm seeing this right, looks like Tamura dropped the theme of putting Oga up on every cover since last volume if it ever was one. (on the inside cover of volume 20, there's a little Oga noticing he's not on the cover). There is also Kanzaki flamenco panel in the book
    edit:

    Also,
Dat handsome Furuichi . That's funny. I always used to think that with the exception of the tissue arc, the two's friendship was pretty devoid of rivalry. I guess Tamura is trying to say when Furuichi finally does get serious, you will get a 強敵.

I buy mine at the Kinokuniya bookstore in San Francisco. If you live in California they have a few. New York too. I think they have one in Washington as well. Of course I'm sure there are small time Japanese bookstores throughout the country if you look hard. Otherwise, just order them online if you are desperate enough. Though the shipping price from Japan is pretty high and can be over 3x the worth of the tankoban . If online I'd order them from the Kinokuniya in your country.

Thanks I live like 20 minutes from SF so that'd be great. Thank you!

kudof on tumblr posted the volume 20 cover and special limited edition poster from the digital copy of Beelzebub vol. 20. The colors look really good.

    Volume 22 cover:

Nasubi looks really pretty. But I'm disappointed his more flamboyant style wasn't shown.

I really love this cover! Its been a while since Aoi's had a cover and she looks really cool on it. I love the strong use of green as well. Is that Oga's hair sticking up behind them?

Re: Volume Cover and Official Art Thread

Wow, I was not expecting such a badass cover for volume 24:

Its kind of proof at how popular Takamiya became though. I mean, the guy already has doujinshi drawn of him.

Re: Volume Cover and Official Art Thread

The last three Covers are the best so far from all Volumen. Special with Nasubi in Fron special one Character or at 23 with Taka and Oga in a Brawl. That are great.
Different from the Typical Covers but any Charachter on top that appears in the Volumen, like OP Covers.

I agree. I particularly like the shading in volume 24, it has all these grey tones to offset the red background. Its very appropriate for a raging fight. I can't wait to see the bigger cover!
